Oh I know; in this instance - with initials/abbreviations - it goes both ways. Like I say, no right or wrong when it comes to this, really. I see why you remarked about what I said, but by no means was I implying either was the correct way - just pointing out that we speak NES/SNES as words in the UK.no offense taken...i just think its funny that a lot of comments have been talking about "right" and "wrong" ways to pronounce things...
yes, but how do Britts say things like MI6? or SAS....do you say Sass? as in sassy?...what about american things like FBI? or CIA? you see how the rules for "proper" can change all over the place...
lets put an end to the Mario debate...watch the video...i dont care HOW Nintendo, their choice of voice actor, or what ever country your from...accent, region, whatever...
watch the video and listen to how Mario is pronounced...end of story...he is an ITALIAN plumber...

Yeah, that's how it should be said - but I never hear N Americans saying it like that. I hear Marr-ee-oh instead. More than anything I'm just trying to understand why NA says it so differently to how everyone else says it.
Sorry for any misunderstandings!
