Walmart greeter. Get paid sitting on your ass all day doing absolutely nothing.

For a company like WM known to be cheap as hell on costs, you'd think they'd be the last retailer wasting money on a job like this.

Can confirm. I did this for a few months in college and it was one of the best jobs I've ever had. It was only 3 or 4 of us for a grocery store and after they got me up to speed, we all did our own thing and left each other alone. Slap some headphones in and make sure your stuff is done by 5:00am.
It can be. Unfortunately we had a change of management a couple months after I started stocking the shelves and the head guy was a total dick. I was stressed the whole time I worked their since he had ridiculous expectations.

For me being a cashier at the job was the 2nd most chill especially since I worked at night. Even if you had a problem customer I would straight up just page a manager to deal with it. For half the shift I was on my cellphone just reading web novels.

The most chill was when I was a teen getting paid in just tips as a food bagger at a military grocery store. Unfortunately the job was all tips but I was making like 8-10 dollars an hour in the mid90s. Its weird, I was making less money 4 years later as a cashier at a grocery store.

scratch being the most chill. The most chill was when I worked at a printing press(?)(book making) Christian place. All we did was put the paper in a slot for like 4 hours straight. The most boring job ever. Don't know how much it paid since it went straight to tuition since it was the Christian company's college that hired me. I just realized I never did my taxes for that money. Eh, I doubt even made a thousand dollars considering how few hours I actually worked.

It’s crazy to think back on what I earned at some of my first jobs. I remember putting in a full 40 hours at Staples as a teenager and my check barely being over $200 after taxes. Most weeks I worked 15-20 hours and my checks were often less than $100! And I had a few coworkers who were grown adults with families making similar paychecks.

I barely made over 200 in my first full time job as a cashier. That was like 18 years ago. You pretty much would make that 200 in 2 days as a cashier these days. Of course everything has gone up like crazy since then and this inflation we just had recently made things even worse. I wouldn't be surprised if cashiers in less than 10 years from now make 200 a day.

Inflation has definitely hit recently but at the same time, stuff was still pretty expensive back then compared to minimum wage or slightly above it.

I remember putting in a full shift at work and then filling up my gas tank and the cost of fuel being more than I just earned at work for the entire day. Or getting food on my lunch break and spending about an hour and a half's worth of wages on my meal, which took me all of 10 minutes to eat. Super depressing times. I'd say that cashiers making $15 or $20 an hour now are doing much better than I was back in the mid-00s, even factoring in current inflation.

I think most of the food I bought back then have simply doubled in price from fast food to soda so the rise in wages is faster than inflation now that I think about it. I didn't start driving until about 12 years ago since I simply just took the bus before then but I think my car only took about 25 to fill up.

If you're good at IT in the right place it can be chill,I work in a high school and since I keep things in shape it gives me plenty of downtime.
I keep a guitar and bass in my server room and have a drum pad on my desk and just write and record music during that time.

What are even the requirements to be a night security guard? Being physically imposing?
security isn't just stopping people coming in. infact if that happens you wouldn't even get involved other than shouting "hey get out!" and if they don't respond then you'd call police. all you really need to do is go around the building and make sure all doors/windows are are shut, locked, and alarms set. you then sit in a room with multiple camera feeds on a monitor and if you see something go shout "hey get out!" or call the police. once a caretaker or manager is on site your report any problems and leave. depending on the site it's even easier. someone will lock up before you and all you need to do is sit there until closing time and then go check some rooms, set an alarm and maybe put a shutter down.

it's a boring easy job that anyone can probably do but you most likely won't get employed unless you have a background of something like police, bouncing, caretaking.

That "IF" is extremely important.

Sparta were some tough guys, they fought in the shade of the arrows, But Alexander answered the IF and subdued them soon after he took power.

A Brief History At an unknown date in 331 BC, a Macedonian army of Alexander the Great, led by his regent, Antipater, defeated the forces of Sparta, led by King Agis III. The Spartan King had conspired with the mortal enemy of the Greeks, the Persians, and had let on his plans to attack the Macedonian forces of Alexander.

Shelf stocker at a supermarket

Local delivery person (driving a box truck instead of a semi-truck)

Or any public-facing role where the public doesn’t actually interact with you that much, or at least, rarely needs anything from you.

Can confirm.
One exception, though. Better to work for a larger regional company that just operates in your area rather than for a locally-owned sole proprietorship. Those self-made men are evil tyrants who terrorize their employees non-stop.
I've done both.
The further removed you are from the boss, the more pleasant the job.

I worked as a union butcher after college for a bit. $25/hour and time +1/2 sundays and good benefits. Pretty chill job just slicing up steaks and cutting chickens. Cleaning up sucked though and you gotta not be scared of a band saw.

I kinda miss those days. You could easily make 70k a year just as a butcher and not a manager.

Digital Video and Marketing Consulting. It's such a fun job, and easy to make 250k+ a year just by talking and getting a few big clients. (so long as you actually know what you are talking about, know how to manage projects and can talk to C-level individuals easily)

Basically "consulting" is the answer for max ease + $$.

They actually help with loss prevention. If someone is thinking about stealing they'll often change their mind if they have been seen. It was one of the better jobs to be given at retail, I didn't have to deal with any customers and just watch people walk by.

When I was a youngster I was night shift front desk at a hotel. Forget about trying to get any sleep because of phone calls and other noises, but you can just chill watching tv and having all you can eat waffles.

Hell no! I've never seen a single film where the night security guard lives! :p
True, especially because I had no weapons at all and was told to just run and call the cops if there were issues. Not sure entirely why I was even there lol.

But gaf don't sleep on working at a gym. Basically all I had to do was to keep the towels flowing and flirt with whoever wanted to flirt. A steady stream of hotties all day long coming by. And I was the closer, so I had keys, and after closing I would work out as long as I wanted with the gym completely empty (and would invite friends to come also haha). Got into pretty rediculous shape. Fantastic job for a college student. I just wish my place had a pool.

I was front desk attendant at a gym during college as well. Pay was shit but it was definitely super easy. And yeah, it makes working out incredibly easy and convenient. I would always workout after my shift was over. Eventually my gym added a smoothie bar and the front desk people would fight over that shift because earning tips meant you got paid roughly twice as much.

I'm a back counter parts guy at a Mazda dealer. I deal with the technicians mainly, and also run our wholesale deliveries. It's perfect for a lazy introvert like myself- I'm not facing actual retail customers, I am on the road on my own for a decent part of the day, and I am not required to meet any numbers goals. We all get paid equally on how well the department does. So the whole gig is pretty low stress, laid back and overall enjoyable. I also make 65-70k a year on average. In my state that's actually pretty damn good.

Redneckerz

Those long posts don't cover that red neck boy
Influencers.

Except they also pay a lot and you have to be shallow as fuck to keep on doing it.

But i guess its chill, especially when you can hire editors. Just do some talk and that's a wrap.

I had some absolutely great jobs before I settled into my career. Probably my top 2 were working front desk at a gym, and overnight security guard at an office building.

This what my buddy does, he loves it.

Also sitting on a machine that puts roads down on high ways, dude basically sleeps through the job.

I work in psychiatry (assisted living) and although it can be tough occasionally, most of the time it's pretty chill. We also have a night shift with so little going on that if you can deal with the isolation and the occasional panicking resident you could basically run a separate online business while getting paid for working here.

Most fun job I had was probably working at a 2nd hand record store high fidelity style, and some DJ'ing gigs I did in my student years

The best job I ever had was working with my dad for a summer delivering gas tanks to local businesses. I got paid $12/hr in 2005, which was really good for unskilled labor in my area. We would do 10-12 hour days 2-3 days a week and they absolutely flew by. Being on the go all day long and doing some degree of manual labor with time to rest between stops makes the day go by really fast and you leave work feeling pleasantly exhausted.

Best job I ever had was in college as night security at a sorority house. Occasionally I had to get up and let a drunk girl who forgot her key card in. Otherwise I read or played NGPC. Only difficult part was staying awake driving home at 2 am.

It's a chill job until someone comes out to their car while you're writing up their ticket. I used to walk past a big parking lot that was notorious for booting people. The guys who actually attached the boots had to be physically imposing because people would lose their shit over it. With parking tickets you don't have to return to their vehicle at least, but you still run the risk of being "caught in the act" by someone who may assault you.
I saw a lady giving a parking ticket once (not my car) and I called out to her. She seemed jumpy, but I just wanted to say good job because it must be absolutely thankless, and she seemed to appreciate the gesture! Definitely got the impression it must be like working with a target on your back at all times, and I hate confrontation. That would stress me the f out.

Any definite high paying job but chill?

I'm a Tech Lead / Senior Dev it's not too bad but would prefer using less of my brain

Very easy job I did during one university summer. Get a job at a marketing company who get contracts to give out samples. I gave out pop, chocolate bars, sample size boxes of cereal etc....

In the 90s, it paid like $13/hr (CDN). And you get some free food and shit too (whatever your sample campaign was for the week). You'd take boxes of this stuff home and share with friends and fam.

Fun easy gig. You drive a van to pick up supplies at the warehouse and the supervisor tells you where you're working on this day or that day. You were always a tandem too so since everyone was young it was fun. Anything to do with the cost of gas, parking fees, etc... all covered.

The hardest part of the job is if you HATE driving in busy downtown locations. Sometimes, you'd illegally park on the street curb with cars and people everywhere and move your ass if cops came by. Everyone got a ticket here and there if you left your van somewhere unattended, but no big deal. You just submitted back to the admin guy at the office and he handled it. Cops arent ball busters either as all of us were probably college age. They know what you're doing so if you were clogging things up they'd just tell you to move. Those guys took samples from us too. And then you'd drive around and find another similar spot blocks away.

It was much easier if you got a suburban spot like a strip mall.

But they aren't stressful. You can manage them, since all you are doing is moving objects.

Dealing with people is much shit. They make you go crazy, because they dont get the simple thing. My and my sisters are guilty of arguing with cashier and customer service people, because they don't like certain products. And I feel sorry for these people, who have to put up with their shit.

Anyway, I was a cab driver back about 30 years ago. Aside from the occasional vomit clean-up from a drunk, it was pretty damn chill.
