Hey Bell Woods, should I listen to Dream Theater? What do you think of them?

For m personal taste,
I am a much bigger "old" Dream Theater fan than new one. I am not a huge fan of where prog has progressed to (no pun intended), what with how DT and bands like System of a Down and whatnot are. Much more of a 70/80's Yes, Rush, Dream Theater, etc. fan,

That being said, I still think Dream Theater is among the best of the prog rock/metal bands out there today. Certainly among the most technically competent and fluent. And you can hardly argue with LaBrie's voice and Pettruci's ability. I still think Kevin Moore was FAR and away the best keyboardist they had, and one of the greatest keyboardists of all time, but alas he went on to much more experimental music.

anywho, just my two cents. for my money, Images and Words is in my top 5 albums of all time.

as a prog side note, I am completely ashamed I have never listened to The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway before today... amazing how it sounds exactly like the genesis from the 80's I've always loved, only like 10 times better..

This happened when Jamie was visiting Vietnam. And the lad didn't cruise Stewart. . .he was a prostitute. Jamie picked him up because he looked like he needed the money, and that he was very sad looking naked because there were scars all over his body. Jamie had him pose with the plastic baby (which he had brought with him for the sole purpose of taking amusing photos).
