What dev would *you* kickstart?

I kickstart games a like, in the case of famous people without a game in development, I'd like to back a bullfrog style game, or a new sim city or flight simulator

GungHO/GameARTS - Lunar 3

Yu Suzuki -Shenmue 3

Sega of America - Valkyria Chronicles 3 localization (UMD pref, but PSN acceptable)

Tango Gameworks and Platinum collaboration to make a God Hand successor

Swery65 to make Deadly Premonition 2

Treasure to make...something new. They've found a nice niche on XBLA but they're still clearly limited by manpower and budget. I want to see something that makes me go 'wat' and then 'this is awesome' on the level of Mischief Makers.

Rare- Banjo Kazooie 3

I don't even care if most of the original team is gone.

Pretty much any franchise/dev I care about, honestly. If Nintendo said they need money for a console 2D Zelda, I'd fund the fuck out of it without even thinking about it.

RARE - Killer Instinct 3
Yoshitaka Murayama - an HD Suikoden
Al Lowe - for a proper Leisure Suit Larry sequel
Peter Molyneux & Sean Cooper - to make a proper Syndicate sequel
Corey and Lori Ann Cole - another Quest for Glory

Anna Anthropy, Christine Love, messhof, Jonathan Blow. None of the other developers I care about would actually need to use Kickstarter, but there are tons of folks I would speculatively preorder a game from if it helped them get out from under a publisher's thumb.

Whatever Supergiant games wants to make next especially if the same people are working on the music. Probably my first or second favorite game of 2011.

There are a lot of games I'd love to see made, but SWERY is someone where I think a Kickstarter project would actually help, and would lead to a product. Also, SWERY bonus content would be the best.

Swery 65
Suda 51

Give me more insane games that appear as if they were made by a mental patient. And I mean that in the best way possible.

Oh I'd kick alright....

I would say Zipper but I have lost a lot of faith in them and they just don't have the same people there they used to have.

So I would seriously consider starting a Kickstarter campaign to collect money and offer it to any Sony Studio that would be willing to make a true Socom in the vein of Socom 1 and 2. If successful myself and many others would be good on games for a couple of years, just give us map packs.

Yeah, it'd be AKI for me. It doesn't even need to feature a real company, just make the gameplay amazing, give me a good create a character, and I'll make all the people I want.

Any of the old RARE developers if it was for a sequel to Conker's Bad Fur Day.

I'd also definitely help kickstart a Team Meat or a Twisted Pixel project.

As for big name developers, Mikami and Kamiya in Platinum Games are two developers I'd definitely get behind. Also Inafune if he was making a new Mega Man or Mega Man X game, but only if it was a 2D platformer.

EDIT: And now that I think about it, I'd pour tons of money if the team of Nomura, Sakaguchi, and Uematsu got together to make a new Final Fantasy in an old-school style.

XSeed to publish Trails in the Sky 2.

A lot of the suggestion here are for games with a multi-million budget. Kickstarting those might be a problem. Tim Schafer knew why he was going for a smaller game with a budget well below a million. Though he probably will crack the million dollar mark.

I was talking about how XSeed should do just that with SC localization. I seriously think it could work out for them!

- Smilebit to work on a next gen Jet Set Radio
- Jupiter on The World Ends With You Too for everything with a touch screen
- Old Rare for Banjo-Threeie
- Retro on StarTropics ( ;) )
- Keiji Inafune + Insomniac for a next gen Megaman/Megaman Generations (Think Astro Boy meets Classic series meets R&C gameplay with robots)

-Kato and whoever else that could get me a new Chrono game.
-Sakamoto to make a new 2D Metroid.
-Chris Avellone
-Another Quest for Glory game.
-The former Cing employees who made Hotel Dusk/Trace Memory.
-Monolith to make a new Baten Kaitos.
-Find out what happened to Quintet and kickstart them to make a new RPG.

etc etc

RARE for Killer Instinct 3, Kameo 2, Banjo Threeie, Urchin or a new IP
Obsidian for Planescape Torment 2
Rocksteady Ninja Turtles game
Naughty Dog Crash Bandicoot

Raven Software (Hexen/Heretic/Jedi Knight)

edit: Looking into it, I have now learned that the creators of Hexen/Heretic made Human Head Studios, who are now making Prey 2. Would definitely like to see them return to the horror/dark fantasy setting after the gritty sci fi.

Oh man, how could I forget - A Doug TenNapel game! I don't care if it's a new Neverhood project or new Earthworm Jim, or something new altogether... This guy needs to make video games again!
