What do you think Nintendo will do for Mario’s 40th Anniversary?

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
Nintendo went pretty hard for Mario's 35th, releasing Mario 3D All-Stars, Mario 35, Bowser's Fury, a Mario Game & Watch, Mario Lego sets, and a bunch of different in-game tie-ins.

What do you think they'll do for the 40th this September? It's a far more important milestone than 35, so the hope is that they'll go all-out. But aside from rereleasing Mario 35 as Mario 40, I'm not sure what they would do. We likely won't see a new mainline Mario game, since that team just released DK. And I don't think we'll get Galaxy 2 (mostly because of the Yoshi controls). So what do you think they'll do?

Maybe one of those wacky multiplayer games like the Tetris or F-Zero one. I'd love to get a Mario Bros (the arcade) one but with many people at the same time, shit would be crazy fun.

Mario 3D Allstars will be "unvaulted" and it will now include Mario Galaxy 2 exclusively for Switch 2. It will be added to the game as DLC. It'll cost $30 to upgrade to the Switch 2 version that includes SMG2, or $70 for all the games if you don't already own it.

Mark my words, Galaxy 2 ain't happening. Same as Metroid Prime 3.

I think it'll be Galaxy 2
too Wiierd of a game.

I'm thinking they announce Mario Maker 3 with a movie tie in for spring., Though I want the next 3D main. It's something I would buy for the kids, but don't really care about and I am one who has played Mario for 40 years.

Officially say Mario is balls deep in Peach
Super Mario Nintendo GIF

I expect a big update to Mario Kart World for the 40th. Maybe all the SNES homage courses in the game will become regular tracks. I could also see a Switch 2 Edition for SM Wonder that adds iconic couses from past games with new Wonder Flower events.

They really should re-release Super Mario 3D All-Stars. That fucking game goes for like $200+ these days, what the fuck Nintendo why was that a limited release what the fuck is wrong with you

I'd love a really well done way to play Galaxy 1 and 2 on the Switch 2. I've heard mixed things about Galaxy 1 on the Mario collection and that release had a really limited run from what I understand. Mario 3D World is my favorite of the 3D Marios but I think Galaxy 1 and 2 are the best 3D Mario has been.

I can see a lot of Switch 2 Editions and updates being part of it.

Super Mario 3D All Stars Switch 2 Edition that includes Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2 Edition with a new added DLC adventure.

Free visual updates for Mario Maker 2 (including mouse controls), Mario and Luigi Brothership, Paper Mario TTYD, Luigi's Mansion etc.

A re-release of the "Super Mario 35" battle royale, but with 40 players this time instead.

Maybe a tease of the next 3D Mario and/or the upcoming movie.

They'll probably show some event planned for their theme parks as well.

Probably sue somebody and brick their Switch 2.

I'd like to see a new 2D Mario with a cool new art style or aesthetic. The 3D stuff hasn't impressed me for a while now.

They had the 25th Anniversary Wii Mario All-Stars limited edition. It sold okay, but odd enough, it never really retained value post-launch.
I would think it would be a Switch 2 Mario pack limited run.

It is about fucking time we got Galaxy 2 brought up to the same visual standard as Galaxy 1. I really was shocked that they never offered that as DLC or something.

Almost as shocked as I am now, realizing that it's been 5 years since that last anniversary collection came out. Fuckin' weird-ass decade it's been, man.
