What have you just bought?

Thank you Japan for making me experience adult cream pies.

Due to the shit DDR5 prices, I decided to move up from a B450 + Ryzen 2700 to a B550 + Ryzen 5700x. I reaklly wanted to move to at least pcie4.0. Paid $100.00(CND) for the mobo. $250.00 (CND) for the CPU. Also, I'm probably going to purchase a RX 9060 XT 16GB model. I have spare RAM an extra case not in use. A 650W 80+ Bronze PSU.

I barely know anything about the Horizon series. I remember seeing it revealed or some kind of trailer at E3 years ago but promptly ignored everything about this aside from the occasional comment you see online. It was really cheap at Walmart so I picked it up figuring I might give it a try at some point.

Also got Sonic Superstars, not really sure about this one but was hoping my daughter might want to play it with me. So far no luck on that.

Our previous air fryer died, and the company we bought it from no longer exists (we bought it in Germany). Dealing with sending it back to the manufacturer would've been a hassle anyway.

Honestly though, I like this one better. That little window to check on the food is such a time-saver.

Just got a Sony G200 CRT 17" monitor. Pretty old one from 2001 - but it can still push 1028x768 @ 120hz, just tested.
At 1600x1200 - it's rated at 75hz. I'm planning to hook this up to a retro themed PC station running Bazzite.

With PC parts so expensive, and building pc is a hobby of mine - so I'm going to reuse some of my old parts and build up a retro pc station using Silverstone FLP02.
Was thinking about FLP01 originally - but my 3930k produces a lot of heat and need pretty hefty cooler - so I'm leaning towards FLP02.

The monitor had some minor blemishes and slight crack on the top right corner - so thinking of fixing it with Tamiya ABS glue or something and sand it down a bit.
Others, I was able to get the most out with Mr Magic eraser sponge.

the picture quality is surprisingly good - the old NTSC color feels muted to today's HDR brightness and all, but I also find it rather comforting to my old eyes.

Looking foward to play some games on it soon.

I bought an AYN Odin 3 and have been replaying Dead Cells on it. It's so nice to play on a 6" OLED at 120 fps! My original playthrough was also on Xbox, and I did not realize how much the game has changed. I guess it required me starting a new save game to see some of the changes.

Now I just need to find some games that I like as much as this after I finish it.

Since I'm almost done with The Silmarillion (very cool read) I decided to not drop the habit and keep reading fantasy books.

Decided to go for something lighter so I ordered the trilogy of DragonLance Chronicles from the second hand market. They seem to be in real good condition, and those illustrations on the covers sure are a total treat compared to the more modern re-editions.

I've heard they are quite generic but still charming and fun to read through. Hope they don't disappoint! The Silmarillion has been a total treat so far, loved the smaller narratives and how metal it can get at times, like that time they hung an elf from a wall for 30 years and leave him there in agony.

Sennheiser HDB 630s

They are quite nice. I really wanted the metal construction, connectivity options, lighter weight, and EQ. The case is a nice bonus. The transparency mode isn't as good as my airpod pro 2s but not being in your ear canal is nice. They really seal around your ears, though, almost like a suction cup. I may want to pick up some fabric pads for summer.

Spectacular for music, pretty good for movies and TV. Midrange is too forward and artificial sounding for games, far behind my MadDogs on an amp plugged into a DAC receiving optical straight from my Xbox, but that is kind of expected. It is also a lot of hassle and weight compared to popping on a bluetooth set.

$7 impulse buy off the shelf at my local Walmart. Not sure I'm ever going to use them because they're too damn nice - and I don't want to fight with my wife over the special triforce wild rule.

Airpods 4 anc.

It was expensive and bit cumbersome to use on android. But i didnt find anything else with open design and good anc. Reason for open is that it doesn't thump when running on steps

I started this thread but completely missed to keep posting here so some highlights:

2022: Apple Watch with the shiny steel case and a Tesla Model 3 Long Range
2023: GeForce 3060 and a Forster HB 599 RV/Camper Van based on Fiat Ducato (proper living space with dinette, shower/toilet, bed) -> totalled last summer on the highway by an idiot behind me
2024: Macbook Pro 16", iPad Pro 13" and Apple Vision Pro
2025: Switch Lite (Yellow), Switch 2 and iPhone 17 Pro

For now I'm done with bigger purchases, only tempting thing would be a thinner/lighter MacBook Pro (needs to reach sub 2kg mark), an iPhone Pro with 2 day battery capacity (will it ever happen?) and a crazy good deal to replace my Tesla (although I'm still happy with it, no pressure).

Looking at it, I should have purchased a small apartment in southern spain because prices are only going up and the pressure from outside (tourists, retires, investors and immigrants/invaders) is increasing like crazy.
Even in my insignificant low tier home city in northern spain prices are spiking and Americans and Canadians are starting to migrate there for early retirement - the world is getting smaller and stranger by the day.
