What is a mouse? A miserable pile of circuits (or: what mouse are you using?)

Used to have a Microsoft 1.1, awesome mouse.

Now I use a Logitech G400s. Overall a nice mouse for its price.

Using a cheapo Logitech mouse at the moment (under $20). =p Would like a nice gaming one for all the MMOs that I play, but all of the ones I've seen are ugly as sin. Why do things prefixed with "Gaming" always have to be so damn ugly? T_T

Logitech G5. The sensitivity button is starting to wear out but otherwise it's great. I love this mouse and I'm not looking forward to finding a suitable replacement.
I've had this mouse for nearly seven years and it's still going strong, great value! I'm thinking of getting a new mouse just for the thrill of it though. Maybe a wireless Sensei.

I have a deathadder now. It's my second one, the first I had to RMA because the scroll wheel literally fell off. The mouse is good, but I worry about build quality now. Before that I had a Logitech Anywhere MX. Great mouse, had to RMA it as well because the left button would double click on a single click. The second developed the same problem. But man I miss that hyper scroll, that made scrolling through web documents amazing. Shitty for games though.

Logitech G700. By far my favorite mouse.

My G7 button broke and wouldn't stay in the mouse. I super glued it onto the G5 button. Now both are permanently stuck together, but they still work as intended.

I don't think I've ever found a "perfect" mouse. Most seem small for my hands and they're not even that big.

Not a mouse, but I use an Intuos4 for navigating my computer. After about 15 minutes of using a mouse my carpal tunnel begins creeping in. I can go for hours when using the stylus.

Loving the Logitech G600. The third ringfinger button is really great, I'm using it all the time. Would love a similar wireless mouse.

Sadly I got the white one (was cheaper at the time), and I haven't been able to get it completely white/clean again. That really bothers me (has anyone been able to _really_ clean it?).

The Razer Orochi (wired/wireless mouse, 2013 edition that comes with 6400 DPI)

Not bad for one and a half year of constant use. It's very nice no matter the location, working as it should every single time. Wireless functionality works well when not playing games, too - it's usually much more convenient for me to just turn it on and get to work while still having a relatively comfortable, familiar mouse to play around with.

When I use it in my home, plugged in, it sure feels just right playing games or even just doing some work on the desktop. (I don't have large hands, so the small size doesn't bother me a bit - in fact, I think the larger mice are too big.)

Just remember to get a mouse pad. It really doesn't like desks.

G5. The feet and the braid are wearing out... Bought a G400s to lug around but it feels cheaper and lighter. I don't prefer the logo under the palm either. Otherwise it's passable. Could someone clarify whether or not the MX518, G5 and G400 have the same exact shape? I've read that the G500(s) thumb rest is a bit wider. True?

I currently have a Razer Deathadder, but when it dies I'm really tempted to get a Cooler Master Mizar, simply because it's pretty much a copy of the Intellimouse 3:

Alienware TactX mouse... I think it's a redesigned / rebadged Logitech but I like it more than my Performance MX mouse (which was a tad too big and I also prefer wired stuff these days)

I also matches my Alienware PC, keyboard and screen.

Currently using a Logitech M705. It's been so long since I've used a wired mouse I don't know if I can go back. The cord always bugged the shit outta me. M705 has a battery life listed in years instead of days or weeks which really appealed to me. Only downside really is that it's kinda small and as it's gotten older the right mouse button has gotten temperamental. It dislikes being held down, so if you click and hold, it'll register the click but not the hold. For some reason just alternately mashing on the buttons fixes the issues temporarily.

My very first wireless logitech mouse was a beast, have not been able to find as good of a quality in a wireless mouse since (and I have tried Logitech mouse after Logitech mouse). Most don't hold the battery power for long (usually need a new battery within a month). My original wireless mouse lasted at least 3.

GAF recommend me a mouse that:

  • Is reasonably comfortable
  • Has back/forward buttons on the left side
  • Has a scroll wheel that won't crap out on me after a couple of years

I open most links in new tabs by pressing the scroll wheel and every mouse I've ever had has inevitably started scrolling the wrong way randomly, jittery as fuck, scroll click getting unresponsive etc. I just want something with a sturdy scroll wheel damnit.

Yeah, looks like a modified version of the Logitech G9/X. Brilliant mouse, by far the best I've used...although I do have a claw grip so I'm not keen on bigger mice like the MX518.

^^ heh, I actually went from a G9 to the MX.

You definitely want one of these (MX518). I open tabs the same and actually get a sore finger regularly from scrolling and Ive had this going nearly 5 years now.

I have two Logitech M705s - one for my work PC and one for my home PC. I like the size and the weighted scroll wheel with that lovely Logitech click scroll feel. It has a button you can press to make it freewheel but I never use it. Also the forward/back buttons near your thumb are handy when browsing too.

I also have a Logitech m325 in my bag for when I'm travelling on business. I found that the best compromise of size and weight while still being usable (plus unified receiver so I only need one receiver for both mice)

Looks like they stopped manufacturing that
From what I can find, Logitech G400 is the same mouse but I can't find that anywhere either

After three years of using a Logitech G400, I decided it was time for something new. I was one of the people who had the infamous dying USB cable issue. Luckily I still had my old MX518 around, so it was easy enough to swap the cables.

After reading some good things about Roccat's Kone Pure Military, I went with that one. I was always interested in the Kone series since their shape appeal to me, at least in pictures. It should arrive later this week, so we'll see how it ends up.

Logitech G502 Proteus Core. Best one I've ever had. I loved my G500 mice but they died so fast (I've gone through three of them).

(By the way, Razer is universally shit. Never again)

Logitech-G502-1.jpg

Yep, that's my mouse too. Love my G502. Actually got mine as a warranty replacement for my old G500 mouse, which died due to the bloody cable. Still, I got a free mouse that costs twice as much as what I originally paid for my G500 so I am on top, really!

My two favourite mice are the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 and the Logitech MX518. Due to comfort and durability. Both lasted over 5 years of use.

Currently I use a Microsoft Comfort Mouse 6000. Does the job. Not as good as the IME 3.0.

Been running a Naga for about 3 years now and haven't looked back. It's just perfectly made for MMOs and a lot of other games can benefit from it as well. It's wonderful for Diablo.

I had a G5 that the optical sensor died on after 7 years of use and abuse. Basically encompassed my entire World of Warcraft addiction and a good chunk of my Europa Universalis and Hearts of Iron addiction.

So when I couldn't find a G502, I went with the 602:

I like it. Reminds me of my G5 and the wireless function is neat. I've used it quite a bit and still haven't changed the battery it came with which was four months ago.

I have been getting much more into CS:GO lately, so I have been trying new mice

I was using a G500 for the longest time. I like it, but mine is currently worn out. It is hard to 1-tap in CS:GO. Keeps registering multiple clicks:

I am now using Steel Series Rival. I really like it. Like the shape and it is a good sensor. Unfortunately though, mine tends to skip at least a few times a day, which is a little annoying:

I am looking to buy an Intellimouse 1.1 off Ebay soon:

Same, but the 2011 model. Still working great after 3 years. Fits my hand just right. If it ever fails I will buy myself another Orochi.
