Already have a $2,500 PC and most of the 360 games are already available for or will be on the PC.

Can someone name one 360 game that does NOT freeze or glitch? When I bought NES, SNES, N64 GCN games/systems, freezes, lock-ups, dead systems never crossed my mind. Now owning a 360 and expecting glitches, lock-ups and "red rings of death" is a normal expectation.

I take very good care of all my electronics. Don't wanna buy a system that has the potential to scratch discs or stop working because of the "butterfly effect"

Don't have the money for a $2,500 PC? Total the amount of money you spent on the original XBOX, accesories, XBOX Live plus games that were aslo available on the PC and then tell me you did not have the money to spend.

Zelda will never show up on a PC. Wait a year and a half after release and Gears of War will be found in the PC section for 29.99.

This is just an honest question. IMO, the 360 is totally worth it right now so I'm just curious as to why you might be waiting it out.

So what has to happen to get you to get a 360?

Is it a lack of Japanese support? Price? Faulty Hardware? Bias against U.S machines? Halo 3 not being out?

400 bucks is stopping me from getting one right now. When the premium is 300, I'll probably get one. The only thing that would push me to get one sooner is a killer game that I can't live without, and I don't see that now or on the horizon. If MGS4 gets a 360 port, I'm in. If RE5 is something extraordinary, count me in. As it stands now, GRAW and Burnout aren't making me rush to the store.

During the Metroid Prime lock-up/freeze debacle this was basically a first for most GCN owners and a suprise also an outrage but for the 360 it has become an expected thing. Sad state of affairs this next-gen thing is.

I almost ran out and bought one when I saw the PS3 price, but nothing that's out compells me. PS3's likely launch line-up is similar, but the AV features do appeal to me, so waiting to see how that pans out has me holding off on 360 in the meantime.

I barely used my Xbox, and I don't want another inert system.


XBLA is the strongest antidote, and if it had a lot more content I'd be all over it. I could seriously become a cheap-game-downloading junkie.

With all the new/different tech employed, do you people honestly think that the PS3 and Wii are going to be relatively problem free at launch?

You can't play any of those games on the 360 yet either...

The 360 won't really have a solid library of games until this fall and IMO it really has not arrived until Halo 3 comes out. I think its hard to underestimate how important that game is to the system. They also really need to drop the price - a $200/$300 pricepoint would go along way towards making the 360 an real contender in the (western) console markets. I also believe that they will have to eventually offer free (ad supported) online matchmaking services to retain their online advantage.

I think the lifecycle issues are another important thing that people are looking at. There really is no comparison if you look at the value of Xbox and the PS2 late in its lifecycle. Now, I think the 360 will be significantly better in this regard and that Microsoft has learned from their mistakes last gen when they designed the 360, but this is something that will take them years to actually prove.

Did not ask if we were biased or unbiased. This is not an XBOX board so black, white, Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft owners/fans can and are allowed to reply.

Lock-ups, freezes and blue screen of death is expected even on the most expensive of PC's that is also IMO become the norm of expectations on the 360 wheter it is the game, dashboard or console.

My answers, whether you like 'em or not is the same arguement that goes on everyday with every system or with every electroinc device know to man. Show me a guy that swears by Ipod/PSP/DS/CellPhone and i'll find someone that hates the crap out of it.

I stated my reasons for not wanting to get a 360. Like I said I have a PC and most XBOX/XBOX360 games are also on or will be finding it's way to the PC. I can wait for better version and price drop.

Nothing to do with that. It was just that you had 5 posts, all of which were unreasonable. Most 360 games are not going to be on PC, though a lot will be. The red ring of death is not "expected" and only happens in a very small minority of machines. All last generation systems had freezing problems with certain games, and the only game I have personally had problems with freezing is Oblivion, which isn't a huge deal because it autosaves. Just about every point you made was over exagerrated, and you really do not have to lie to find reasons not to buy a 360. Just say you do not find it compelling, or you have heard a lot of horror stories, or that the games you want are coming to the PC. It is that over emphasis on bull shit that makes it seem like you do not know what you are talking about. Plus when your first 6 or 7 posts on a messageboard are all attacks on the 360, it seems a little strange.

I play on the 360 about 5-6 hours per week. The only probem I've had is with Quake 4. I had about 10 saves in the game which for some reason prevented my most recent one from loading. I then deleted some of the older ones and that fixed the problem. But yeah you hear alot of stories about the 360 problems,yet I haven't encountered any myself. And I don't really baby my consoles like some here do. I think part of it is overblown,but ofcourse one cannot deny the chances you take being an early adopter. Protection plans are life savers.

GTA4 - WTF are you talking about? Only games that = 1080p = GTHD + Genji 2 (or so it seems). 1080p is a monster of a resolution.

Forza 2- not into realistic racing games, but Forza isn't as ____ as GT so I might consider
