What is your dream game?

Bioshock, just give me more original Bioshock.

Simple and uncreative, I know, but that game nailed it home for me. Environment, story, characters, flow, controls.

Just give me more, more and more.

I have a few.

- Demon's Souls 2
- Killer7 HD
- Metal Gear/Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake completely re-scripted remakes
- a new upgrade of Street Fighter IV with more characters and stages

Blech, another upgrade to SFIV? I'd rather they waited a bit and released SFV in 2013/2014

Killer7 HD would be choice, but I think I'd rather get a new NMH game but built ground up for an HD platform.

- Killer7 HD

Outside of the HUD it scrubs up quite nicely in Dolphin.

A sengoku jidai themed WRPG exclusive for PC. Should have an extremely open world, and the ability to influence the war, perhaps raise armies and capture provinces. Think Total War meets Elder Scrolls meets Nobunaga's Ambition.

Edit: I just realized that 54-46! posted a similar idea. That sounds cool too.

Phantasy Star 5 or Skies of Arcadia 2 - directed by Rieko Kodama. Sprawling, puzzle-filled dungeons, upgradeable spaceship/airship, lots of sidequests but still a great main plot with lots of awesome twists, heaps of nostalgia, great music (dance-influenced in PS5, symphonic/traditional RPG music for SOA2), and run SOA2 on the Canvas engine.

noticed a few posts up

Killer 7 HD

in fact no, a Suda 51 HD Collection

Killer 7, No More Heroes & No More Heroes 2.

I know we have paradise, but i haven't bought it so i'd be happy with this collection.

Also, not sure i've seen this yet on the thread.

English Translation of Policenauts on PSN

Mass Effect with the exploration of Skyrim.
No copy/pasting true different environments.

The again with a zillion planets to possibly explore, i have no idea how this will be fasible anytime soon.

A fantasy version of Jagged Alliance with elves and dwarves and fighters and thieves and wizards and such.

Or...a turn-based, squad-based Warhammer 40K or Gears of War RPG type of thingy.

Minecraft +
Elder Scrolls +
Elite +
Pirates!
_______________

= my best game ever

TL:DR - space sim RPG with randomized worlds that you can build/manipulate and you can trade or get attacked while traveling between worlds in your completely user designed space ship.

I just want a sequel to Bloodlines developed by the original team with help from DICE Frostbite team.

Bloodlines as an open world RPG on the size and scale of a Bethesda game would be beyond fucking awesome.

Call Obsidian...

Shin Megami Tensei 4

for inspiration, it should be taking notes from Nocturne, not Strange Journey

that's it

edit: Demon's Souls 2 is also a good one

I want an Elder Scrolls game with:

-The entire continent of Tamriel: I want to be able to travel across Morrowind, Cyrodil, Skyrim, Hammerfell, Black Marsh, Elsweyr etc. Seamlessly in one gigantic open world.

-More rewarding, skill based combat (Maybe they could try and get a Dark Souls combat system working in first person?)

-More emphasis on the impact your choices have on the world. It'd be nice if once you became a guild master for example if you were actually treated as the master of that guild. Able to order people around, have them do missions for you etc.

-Mass Effect's cinematic dialogue system, I want to have a unique male and female voice for every race and have my character actually speak.

-All the features that have been in TES in the past that they've since removed. Spell making, levitation, mark & recall. Basically I want it to have all of Morrowind's features but refined and polished to Skyrim's level.

*sigh* could you imagine casting levitate and flying high above the entirety of Tamriel? A man can dream....

I think my dream game would be similar to Phantasy Star Online but with more realtime, Zelda-esque combat, less emphasis on levels and stats / more emphasis on abilities and player skill. Hopefully PSO2 delivers on all this (and comes to a console /whine).

Now..I want a MMORPG that does not just consist of just mashing buttons and waiting for cooldowns, or based around the tired tank/healer/dps etc roles. All real time. Big budget and high profile.

Guild Wars 2 says hello.

Seriously, everything you asked for is there and more.

Edit: Manifesto Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FU1JUwPqzQY&hd=1
Never before had developers just talking about their game make me want it more than any footage or details could.

Edit 2: Fuck, still gives me chills. Come to the OP, Toaster; http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=440171

L.A. Noire with a deeper adventure/investigation component. L.A. Noire 2 should steal some gameplay systems from Ace Attorney Investigations.

I would be happy with a new SRPG like TO or FFT (as opposed to the Disgaea-style SRPGs we are getting these days). My second choice would be something (anything really) that would give me more Grandia-style combat.

LA Noire 2 should follow a private dick instead of a cop. It will open up the gameplay quite a bit.

Dream Game?

Well here is my dream concept:

Calling it Total Warfare: A MMO-RTS/FPS.

...

Damn bro get out of my head! I had a similar idea as well, but each mode could be switched to at any time, so you have varying levels of control and experience at each level.

Top Level: Turned Based Stategy (TBS):

-Based off Civ and other turned based games
-High level actions such as tech trees and upgrades which you would carefully choose based on how well you are achieving your objectives
-Make choices on what moves to play, which immensely alter your objectives

Medium Level: RTS

-Assign objectives which were generated by moves made on TBS mode.
-Units are human players and bots.
-Assign objectives to human players and assign bots to human players to control or be part of a team
-Control bots just like you would in a RTS like units to help the human players complete their objective

Low Level: FPS

-Complete objectives assigned on RTS mode.
-Take control of any bot and play that char. At any time when you die, you switch back to RTS where to can pick another bot to take control of (obviously there is a cooldown so you can keep going to FPS mode frequently).

My idea was less of a MMO and more single player/co-op oriented. You had a main commander who could switch to any of the Genres/Levels and buddies on the frontline (FPS) helping you achieve your objective. I think your MMO/buffs bit makes it even more interesting to play on the low level.

An open-world sci-fi Space Opera RPG. Think Skyrim, but set in the world of Star Trek or Mass Effect.

I'd also go a pulp TPS-RPG. Something like Mass Effect, with greater character and skill depth, a competent inventory, and things like speech checks and the like, where you have character classes like mad scientist (think Dr. Frankenstein), adventurer (think Indiana Jones), science hero (think Doc Savage or Tom Strong). Even throw in a Tarzan equivalent.

Set it in the 1930's of the pulp world, where you have mad scientists and evil Martians and the like.

Create a few hub worlds (like Chicago, The African Jungle, Shangri-La, etc.) and let you explore.

Nintendo vs. Capcom
A joint project between Capcom and HAL Laboratories

There is a void in the fighting game spectrum. Between Smash Bros. and Marvel vs. Capcom there exists a game that's as mad as MvC, yet as easy to pick up and play as Smash. This is that game.

Designed to be played on a controller, like Smash, with easy special moves and friendly link timing, the game would borrow mobility from Smash and tag team/fighting mechanics from MvC. (See the Pokémon Trainer on how to implement tags.) Combos would be Smash-esque with each hit tossing the opponent further away (in place of hitstun decay), but the game would use vitality and tag ins like MvC. Assists would work like Assist Trophies, except of your benched characters doing one of their moves. (Press Assist for Falcon PUNCH!) Final Smashes would become Hyper Smashes, and work of a Hyper Smash meter like the Hyper Combos in MvC. They would be suitably mad, of course.

Add to that a dream roster featruing the best of Nintendo (and Waluigi) as well as the best of Capcom. Mega Man will return! There's also plenty of stages to pick from. The stages would not be a wild as in Smash, but a little terrain would be nice. There would be no items, though. Mainly because the game will be nuts enough as is.

To be honest, this is one of those games that might just be a matter of time. Capcom likes its VS. games, and Nintendo doesn't mind licensing out characters to good games with third party companies. So... make it happen already!

* God Hand 2/spiritual successor, with the combat engine made even better, thanks to more dynamic environmental interaction and even MORE fighting styles.

* An AlphaDream-developed (M&L staff) RPG starring Bowser, no Mario or Luigi

Open world hunting game...that takes place on Mars or other planets.
-A vehicle like the Warthog, that puts the warthog to shame. Made for low gravity and insane landscapes.
-Large "trophies" that must be taken out like bringing down Moby Dick.
-Story is epic, focusing on a vengeful hunter, the 'new guy', and a mysterious little girl [lol]
-Basically Red Dead Redemption plus Shattered Horizon, plus the Warthog.
-Grappling hook.

A Devil May Cry/Bayonetta style action game

- using Arkham Asylum/City's combat system (one button attacks, counters, dodge)
.

Directed by Kamiya, produced by Mikami

A Vanquish/Bulletstorm love child. A partnership with Platinum Games, People Can Fly, and Epic Games.

An new 2.5D Sonic game outsourced to Twisted Pixel.

I want a scifi Dark Souls but with a HUB world that you reached using the bonfire system. It would have dedicated servers, run at 1080p60fps and with a supersmooth and reliable online system.

I would let that game rape me ta a pulp.

I have a few.

-Mario Kart: Rainbow Roads could be a spinoff full of unique and diverse "rainbow roads."

-An FPSMMO that looks and plays like Halo Reach (jetpacks/vehicles/sci-fi) where you have your own ship (Serenity/Millennium Falcon) and can travel to hundreds of different planets.

-A fantasy RPG similar to Elder Scrolls but more action-based and colorful. Like Zelda with customizable class, armor and weapons in an open world.

-A StarCraft II version of the popular Warcraft III tower defense game called Burbenog.

Zelda 1 in 3D.
yes.

infamous, but multiple cites and you can mix and match your powers based on a RPG progression tree. Multiple bosses, tons of variety, etc.

Zelda 1 in 3D.

Just about every Zelda thread, a "New Legend of Zelda" gets mentioned, comparable to NSMB: a 'reboot' of the original gameplay with modern aesthetics, almost an homage to the origin of species while creating a new beast entirely.

-A fantasy RPG similar to Elder Scrolls but more action-based and colorful. Like Zelda with customizable class, armor and weapons in an open world.

RIP True Fantasy Live Online

The player capacity of MAG.

The map size and detail of GTAIV.

Then a hybrid of the gameplay of BF3 and Chromehounds.

So large scale multiplayer with class based infantry, vehicles and fully customizable mechs in a huge open world urban environment.

Is such a thing even possible?

A well done Jurassic Park game that basically takes you through the original movie. 3rd person, realistic graphics. And it's free roaming when you aren't doing story missions to go explore and collect shit.

Came here to post this. I want an actually GOOD dinosaur game. Open world, survival elements, awesome graphics.

wow, game sounds awesome. bummer

Keeping in mind it was 2002 and supposed to be a launch title for the original X-Box's Live service, and wasn't terribly far along from what I understand but...

Yeah...

You know, I'm surprised how many others really want a good JP game. I always thought I was kind of alone in that regard, but I guess it just had a huge impact on a ton of people my age and has stuck with us over the years.

Did people miss out on the Lost World game for PSX? For my money it's the definitive JP game until something better comes along. Play as Compy, Raptor, T-Rex, and Human Hunter / Prey. And it's a 2.5D sidescroller. Michael Gaiacchino (Star Trek reboot) does an awesome job of mimicking John Williams too. Gimmie updated visuals and more levels for that and I'd be happy;

Open world like GTA4 online, a city. except with monsters. Fairly damaged and gradually becomes worse because of the monsters. The monsters come in different shapes and sizes, look like they came up out of hell. Imagine things out of Silent Hill, large animals from the zoo, but charred/burnt, with horns and they breath fire. Amphibious sea demons. Flying demons. Gargoyles. Demolishing things. Zombies, large men with goat heads. They've got machetes and are highly athletic. The larger the creatures, the rarer they are to run into. I want the atmosphere to feel like Children of Men. REAL LIFE, CONVINCING PHYSICS/MOVEMENTS. NOT THE SHIT YOU GET IN INFAMOUS! More like Uncharted. And they are after you and all the others you are online with. No symbolic meaning to it, they are meth fiends and you are meth. They want to eat you really fucking bad. 20 people max in each server. No alien weaponry. None of that bullshit. Man-made, military grade weaponry is as far as it goes. You can get in and drive while your friends fire at Godzilla. Vehicles including large air crafts, boats, and automobiles. I want this game to induce an exhilarating sense of panic with some assurance that you are not alone.

an HD Zelda game similar in style to Wind Waker
an HD sequel to NiGHTS into Dreams
However, Nintendo and Sega already delivered a couple of dream game scenarios for me with Super Mario Galaxy 1/2 and Sonic Generations.

An open-world survival apocalyptic game, where you are free to do whatever you want in order to stay alive. Group with other people, remain on your own, build a fortress, wander from place to place, kill anything that moves, become a hermit, rebuild society, ecc.

With a persistent, enormous online world with random events and dynamic time/weather/natural hazards (earthquakes, floods,...).

Think Minecraft meets Left 4 Dead meets Google Street/Map meets Sim City meets Stalker...

No storyline (aside from the starting point, being it a natural disaster, a spreding disease, zombies, an invading enemy, whatever), no missions/quests. Ultra-realistic approach: find food (or grow food; hunt,...), deal with weather (winter/snow/draught), deal with other people doing whatever they feel like. Realistic physics, animations, etc.

an HD Zelda game similar in style to Wind Waker

I would love an HD Zelda Wind Waker sequel with Link being an adult. Holy hell

haha nice boob slider. This game actually looks awesome, like a mix between Zelda, Phantasy Star and Monster Hunter.
