What mouse do you use?

ms-sidewinder-x5.jpg

Love this mouse so much, Say what you will about MS, they make (made?) some solid PC hardware.

Yup, really great. Unfortunately there isn't much in the same class to replace it with.

Honestly?

It was on clearance at Walmart and I love Diablo, so I had to buy it. I've never had a mouse that was more than $20, so it was a huge step up for me. I'll probably end up getting something new within the next year, though.

I have that mouse too (Along with a Logitech G500). I really love how you can set the rhythm of the glow of the Diablo logo in the driver. I never play Diablo without it!

I'm looking for something like my CM storm Spawn but with more thumb buttons.

Naga/hex doesn't seem ideal as they're bound to the actual number keys - I'd want unique keys for dota.

Team Sensei Raw here.

Hell of a mouse for the price (~$40), with great ergonomics if you need something ambidextrous and/or like the shape of classic Microsoft mice. Considering an upgrade to the Rival at some point, but mine is still working just fine.

My only (minor) gripes are that the scroll wheel rumbles a bit and that the rubber coating is beginning to wear off in some spots after about a year and a half of use. I may take it apart and spray the shell with a layer PlastiDip to get more of a grippy finish again.

My good old Logitech G500, had it for years now, still works fine.

I had one for a good few years until the left button microswitch eventually died. Upgraded to a G500S as they have improved the durability of the microswitches. Love logitech's mice though, the MX518/G5/G500 shape is unbeatable for me.

That shit looks cool as hell, I might see if I can pick one up soon.
How has your experience been with it?
I've had it for a few months now, and so far my experiences with it have been very positive. It's incredibly precise and you can adjust it to a certain extent to your hand size making it pretty comfortable to use.

Got it for €35, the retail price was €65 but the box had been opened so I got a pretty hefty discount.

Only downside is the light that pulsates but its covered during use by your palm so I don't really mind it. It may handle a bit light depending on the user.

with tilt scrollwheel. I assign "Back" and "Forward" to the left and right tilt and it's all I need. I tried the MX 518 and I hated its size and my thumb would always accidentally touch the buttons on the side. I've never seen the point of adjustable DPI either. Do people actually use that in games? Like, you zoom in with your sniper rifle and you adjust the DPI accordingly or something?

I had this mouse for a while. Love it. Anywhere MX

When I rebuilt my gaming PC, I upgraded to the G700. It is.. okay. I LOVE the sensitivity. What I dont like so well is the lack of weight. Also, the battery is extremely poor. It requires a recharge about every other day. Performance is great. I just wish it felt better and had better battery.

Weird question for all you older PC gaming folks. The middle mouse button in modern gaming mice seems misplaced. Anyone else agree?

Logitech G600 MMO Mouse here, migrated from the legendary mx518. I was a bit divided between the Naga and the G600, but I had heard the side buttons aren't quite as good on the Naga.

I thought the G600 might be too bulky and fragile but it's proven to be a really good investment, having all my music controls and just about everything else bound with it.
Even after a year of abuse, the buttons still work brilliantly on the side of the mouse. I was expecting them to become too easy to accidentally press.

Just hope they keep making 'em so I can get another when the time comes.

I don't think it's misplaced at all, just really underused and misused by a lot of games. The scroll wheel can also be put to much better use than the standard next weapon/last weapon functions most games assign to it; I use it to select firing modes and toggle laser/scope in Battlefield 4. I also consistently put grenades and melee on my thumb mouse buttons.

Changed the way I played MMOs...

Yup.

Esc on 11
Backspace on 12
Space and enter on the top buttons

Disregard keyboard, acquire beverage hand. Razer Naga

I need to replace mine soon though, Diablo movement killed my middle mouse button so now it's sending multiple clicks and spamming a bunch of tabs when I middle click a link while browsing.

I use a CM Storm Spawn

but I'm interested in trying something else out, though I do like the grip. Will use this thread for research.

This is what I have right now and I love it. Before was a CM Storm Recon and the side buttons were a little too sensitive for me, but otherwise a nice mouse as well.

Touchpad is enough for me.

oh man, I got some blutooth MS win8 mouse and it just looses connection whenever it feels like it sometimes after 4hrs of play sometimes never but when ever it does I try to play with the touch pad because its so painful and so impossible to right click and shoot hahaha. fuck my mouse!

Been using a G500 for the last 4-5 years. Switched from the MX Revolution and never looked backed - only use wireless mice with my laptop now.

Microsoft Sidewinder. It's got to be close to 10 years old and is still awesome. I love MS mice and keyboards.

I use two, mainly I started using this one by Microsoft in june :

Had a similar thing happen to my Logitech G600. I used the software to program the middle click as a macro (middle click down), which solved the issue for me.

That's why on my new mouse I never use middle mouse for anything much and substitute what I used for it onto other buttons namely the one above it.

I've been toying with the idea of a 'curious personal keybinds' sort of thread for a while. In shooty games I routinely have the following keybinds if the game permits it:

'mousewheel-forward' MELEE
'mousewheel-back' RELOAD
'mousewheel-left' THROW GRENADE
'mousewheel-right' heal, etc. (whatever)
'mousewheel-click' toggle minimap, etc (whatever)

People I mention this too IRL have typically looked at me like I'm a weirdo.

The first three (melee, reload, grenade) feel just 'correct' to me somehow, especially melee and reload, where I guess my brain is connecting the directional movement of the scrollwheel with the action it's bound to. Games with functions requiring you to hold the melee button make me sad.

Using the G600, I just put all my weapon select stuff on the thumb. For whatever reason, I like to minimise the number of actions my left hand deals with as much as possible, and I really dislike any action which requires my three middle fingers actually leaving the WASD 'position'. WASD + E + Q for main three fingers, then Shift and CTRL only for little pinky, leaving ALT and Space for thumb. I don't like bindings on R, F, Z, X, C etc. nor on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or the F#s.

Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that I like my G600 plethora of buttons.

Logitech G600 MMO mouse. Bought it when I was playing FFXIV but still love it even though I'm not actively playing any MMO - but it still works great for hotkeys on Oblivion (or Nehrim that I'm playing actually), and it feels better in my hand, and felt like it was better built in the store, than the Razer MMO mice.

Been using this mouse for about a year and and I love the light weight and sensitivity of the g700, having 4 side buttons for pc gaming is awesome though sometimes I have to rebind them to odd keys to get it to work. Battery life is terrible though but I decided to just get some eneloops and just swap them out when the battery dies. Makes it easier than wiring the mouse

Just got a G700s, and its not bad.

the dpi isn't quite as fast as I hoped it would be

The uber scrolling vs mechanical button is really nice

Can I program a button to refresh or F5?

Yeah if you install the software you should be able to assign a button to F5. Also have you or has anyone tried out the Logitech G602? Looks like a suped up version of the G700, longer battery life and more buttons

edit: shit double post

Mine should arrive this weekend. I will post impressions once I get it.

The only issue I've ever had was with the middle mouse button (sometimes it didn't register). Opening and cleaning it seemed to do the trick.

Edit: I just realised that most people use both hands to play Diablo... Wow...

razer-lachesis-5600-gallery1.jpg

I've been using a Razer Lachesis for about 2 years and it. is. terrible.

Sometimes it gets locked into only being able to send horizontal movements to the computer. Meaning, move up and down all you want, the pointer isn't going anywhere, but left and right are fine.

The left mouse button has turned to shit and will sometimes register single mouse clicks as double clicks.

Finally, it and/or its drivers will go nuts and start sending endless hardware interrupts to my system. The more you move the mouse, the more CPU it sucks up. Around 50% of the total cpu devoted to your mouse while trying to play Dota 2 results in a bad time. Unplugging it and reconnecting it usually fixes it, for a while.

My Imperator does the same thing, except vertically. Also completely stops responding every other day until I've pulled and reinserted the USB plug, sometimes multiple times. I also used to own an Arctosa keyboard which wore out in like 1,5 years. Replaced that one with a QPAD MK-80 recently, very satisfied.

Razer, never again.

Corsair M95. The white one.

I mostly play MMO's, so I love it. Having 10 extra buttons that are all reachable with my thumb is great.
