Did anyone actually bother watching When Calls the Heart? Curious to hear what people thought. (I haven't watched it)
King *in* the North
WELL HE IS THE ONE TRUE KING OF THE NORTH!King *in* the North
Classic you!
Looking forward to it though, heard good impressions from critics.
I'm on a conference call. *shakes fist*I beat Cornballer!
Do any of the new Fox shows look worthwhile? I'm not seeing anything there that I might watch.

Thanks, I'll take a look at those and see if I have time to squeeze them in.Gang Related has had a ton of problems, I guess, but the pilot is really solid. Most of the problems seem to stem from a lack of experience in TV versus film. Surviving Jack is fun.
It's not typical TV-GAF stuff, but PBS is airing the lengthy Frederick Wiseman documentary "At Berkeley" starting tonight if anyone's interested. I'll probably DVR it and get to it at some point.
Here's a set of reviews and some discussion over on PBS' website.
Though it lacks the production value or special-effects budget of the Twilight movies, Bitten has a smooth, slick look and boasts solid performances.
Bitten seems aimed more at a mainstream audience than the hard-core werewolf/vampire crowd, which is okay. Probably smart, in fact.
The presentation of mythology and backstory, such an important aspect of a show like Bitten, is handled in a laughably inelegant way.
An oddball, sometimes clever and sometimes eyebrow-raising new animated comedy series.
Despite a handful of cutting moments, Chozen isn’t very funny in its first five episodes--though as the man says, it gets better. Part of that is the inundation. If everything is outrageous, it doesn’t take long to adjust until nothing is.
Archer crosses just about any line you care to draw concerning sex, drugs and violent imagery. But where “Archer” sort of stylishly crosses it, Chozen clumsily trips and falls.
So for FX that's:HitFix said:"Louie" is coming back in May, as we know. FX has the limited series "Fargo," the drama series "Tyrant" and "The Strain" coming in April, June and July respectively.
So for FX that's:
Fargo in April
Louie in May
Tyrant in June
The Strain in July
FX really has some good stuff lined up. Excited mostly for The Strain. So for FX that's:

Can't blame you, Stump. Worked better as a weekly thing to watch, even than it was really though to get through it.My third try to watch Mob City has failed out of boredom.
Presumably The Bridge returns sometime late summer as well.
Too much TV!
And to think there was talk that FX wouldn't have the content to justify the channel split. They're being really aggressive in building up a roster of shows.
They still don't have too much going on at the moment for FXX and FXM though.

Isn't FXM mostly for their purcheased movies? I think there was some talk of putting miniseries there, but with Fargo set for FX it seems not.

Ali G: Rezurection Will Premiere Following Legit at 10:30 PM ET/PT
Ali G: Rezurection is just a repackaged version of the existing Ali G material with new intros, correct? No new Ali G segments?
This tale of a twisted family’s misguided quest for love and money is still creepy and atmospheric enough to make for pulpy television fun.
Chow’s flat direction does little to elevate the action beyond the level of staged reading. It’s hard to fault the actors, although Graham seems unfortunately miscast in a role that requires a degree of coldblooded cunning she’s simply too sweet to pull off. Shipka radiates natural intelligence and poise.
Even allowing for the lowbrow standards that can paradoxically turn a Lifetime movie into a delectable piece of trash, this Flowers in the Attic is a remarkably weak effort.

For the most part, Lannan and Haigh have crafted something thats bittersweet and funny and surprisingly quiet, willing to simply let the characters hang out and try to figure out what the rest of their lives are going to be like.
There's nothing formally or dramatically groundbreaking about it, except for its "no big deal" attitude. But that in itself is striking. It should be counted as progress. That Looking doesn't seem to be terribly concerned with words like progress should count as progress, too.
Unlike Girls, it feels less self-conscious about being provocative, with the situations flowing organically out of the characters. It is also, happily, occasionally pretty funny.
What's the word on Rake? Haven't heard critics say anything about it, kind of odd.

Not sure I have the time for another show but the preview looks interestingI'd like to know too. Seems like it could be a House type show with a singular performance from an actor.
Over the course of six hours it delivers bold, cinematic on-location action, announces itself with sweeping, dramatic dialogue (admittedly, not for everyone) and scatters excellent acting across the small screen.
There are many fine moments in 'Klondike,' cinematic scenes of grandeur and dialogue that rise to poetry. But too often both then fall prey to self-conscious staginess, many repetitive scenes of dirt and endless conversations about the animal nature of man.
There isn't much new in this northern Western, but the scenery is lovely, the acting is solid, and the mix of characters is just what you'd expect from the genre.
