What's the meaning behind your avatar?

I like classic anime but I wanted a character for my avatar which is a complete juxtaposing of my real-life self. I cannot identify at all with the character. I feel it you took an actual Happosai personality and put that person on GAF...their antics would not be tolerated more-than -a-week.

I thought your avatar was Spider-Man all this time

Infinite power source.

Mine is from an infamous YouTuber/Twitch streamer from whom I've hate followed for years. darksydephil/DSP/The King of Hate/The King of Retro/Phillip Burnell/Half-a-Mill-Phil. He's probably the biggest narcissist online besides me. A prominent e-beggar and all around shit bag. My avatar is from a specific YouTube stream where he forgot to turn his camera off on his break where he quickly cranked one out in front of horrified, crying children.

My avatar is a painting called "The Son of Man" from famed surrealist painter Rene Magritte.

I thought it was a fitting representation of me hiding behind an avatar. Our faces are obscured by images, that may or may not give hints about who we really are.

My avatar is an old Simon Belmont fanart I made.

I like Castlevania and classic games in general a lot , so it seemed appropriated to use it here. It mixes well with my nick, "Belmonte" also, which isn't a typo. It is actually my real middle name.

Here is the full version:

Big Sega Saturn fan, loved the Segata Sanshiro commercials since I discovered them all those years ago.

When I thought about an avatar, I immediately remembered that Segata stillshot at the end of the ads. It was badass and funny at the same time. And it's Segata. And that's basically it.

If I have time I will make a pixel art version of it. I want my avatar to be truly custom :)

Horizons.
The first thing I loaded onto my 48k rubber keyed Spectrum. I've been bundling towards that horizon for many years now and the videogaming rainbow is looking as bright as ever.

My icon represents the existential duality of “Mephistopheles’s Riddle” and its impact on 17th century European literature.

my avatar is from Kenneth Anger's 1964 underground film Scorpio Rising. it appears around 26 minutes in.

the film mixes a lot of new imagery together with old film footage and found comics and magazine art. at one point they show this skull with two images of Jesus superimposed on top of it.

the skull is taken from an old magazine, The November 8, 1938 edition of Look.
