I've never seen a fighter catch on as slow as 3S did. Only the most hardcore of fighting fans were playing and praising this game back in 99, then it seemed to steadily rise in popularity starting in late 2000 (DC release), right around the time arcade vendors were moving the cabinets out of the arcades. I blame the deluge of Capcom fighters saturating the market on 3rd Strike's belated rise to fame ( such as Vampire III, MvC, SFA3, etc.; I vividly remember back in 99, seeing tournament regulars at my local arcade playing the living hell out of several A3 cabinets like it was a life-or-death situation, while the all the SF3 machines were empty and neglected. What a bunch of lemmings)
