Why do games put crouch/wall-hug on the same analog stick as movement?!

Sekiro has it mapped as a default to L3 but thankfully the controls can be swapped. I kept crouching accidentally mid-battle which resulted in my guard breaking or interrupting my combo flow.

Why? I understand buttons are limited, but I deal with this issue in FPSs, too, which can be even worse if the crouch is set to 'toggle'. I hated it in games like Halo, for instance. Putting a button that interrupts your movement on a movement stick seems dunce-tier.

Or maybe I could stop being an ape and play more gently with my controllers. 🤷‍♀️

This is why I hope bottom buttons are standard on next gen pads.

I'll be mapping all R3 and L3 buttons to those.

Huh, I always remap crouch TO L3 in games like Call of Duty where it's on Circle or B by default. And I prefer toggle (only on a controller). Very rarely accidentally crouched.

You're an ape!
