Silksong and E33 will be easily in the top-10 this gen and certainly will be remembered more than anything released by Nintendo this year and the next one.

Yotei isn't nominated for the GOTY category at this year's TGA. Indiana Jones would've had a good shot at a nom last year, but it dropped too late, and this year the competition is just way too stacked. It's as simple as that.

Yotei has 7 nominations in other categories despite having less metascore than DK Bananza(2).

Fun fact, Mario Odyssey, TOTK, and BOTW, three of the highest rated games of all time have less nominations than all of these games below and shared the same amount of nominations as Ratchet and clank Rift apart.

It was a 7-8/10 game. Good but hardly top tier. The game had another shot to get in the consciousness of people with the PS5 release and well it just wasn't good enough.

Looks great on PS5 Pro though.

Just because you think one game is better than another doesn't mean that other game can't excel in other areas like accessibility, voice acting, audio, whatever. I mean, Spider-man 2 had more nominators than Totk in 2023 and yet SM2 won nothing and Totk beat it for Best Action Adventure game.

I liked the game. But it's not really on my list of best games. I looks great, I played on PC with path-tracing. But the gameplay is merely... ok. Punching Nazis is always great, but the novelty does wane after a short while.

The awards are partly based on Metacritic score because a lot of the 100 reviewers/judges who do the game awards are the same critics so it tends to match.

Luigi's Mansion 3 critically and commercially smoked Death Stranding was nominated in just 1 category while Death Stranding got 10.

Take a look at Astro Bot and DK Bananza for example, why suddenly DK Bananza didn't get nomination in action adventure, soundtrack, game direction, and art direction despite being exactly the same as Astro Bot for being highly rated 3d Platformer?

Just imagine any game with 82 metascore that sold so poorly managed to get 10 nominations for some unknown reasons, it would be the most controversial bs of the highest order.

No, you are just highlighting selective "fun facts" and ignoring what doesn't fit your narrative. For example, what the hell does commercial success and metacritic score have to do with whether Death Stranding had the better audio design? Or music? Or art direction. Or Best Performance by a voice actor? And then one minute you are "highlighting" players voice for Fire Emblem 3, but somehow neglect to mention that Luigis Mansion 3 didn't make the player's voice list while Death Stranding did. You also skip the fact that Nintendo had more nominations that year overall than any other publisher.

And then you are comparing DKB to Astro Bot despite those games being in entirely different award years, but now you don't want to mention metacritic because Astro Bot has the higher score. Let me guess. Now you want to use open critic and talk about sales?
