It's not presuming. It is reality.

In taxes and health insurance premiums to cover the increased rates of illness. And even in the private sector. when my local supermarket needs to buy 7 powered scooters instead of 3, that cost me. They don't get them for free. If 100% of the cost of being overweight was borne by the individual, then it wouldn't be a problem. But since that is not the case, high levels of obesity do impose a cost on society.

Did you watch the episode? I think you can get away with claiming she's fat and not formally educated, but upon what do you base your claim that she's stupid?

Given her "energy" spiel and the whole life coach thing, she is undoubtedly some kind of new age nutjob who uses hypnosis to tell you who you were in your past life. And the term certified in these situations always seems to mean "I went to a seminar."

You have the midwestern hick-ish woman who is poorly educated and over opinionated, and the snobby, upper class, "I'm better than you because I went to college hehe" pompous douchebag.

If he really cares about this country -- and, yes, it does need a lot of help -- he shouldn't be talking down so much to those who are not quite as educated and well off as he is.

He's a total dick, his wife is a snob, and I don't feel bad for people now giving him a hard time over the way he acted.

There was a progression to what he said. The progression was the truth, then actually correcting by putting her down, then finally getting tired and going with a direct insult. Just because he may say a few things that are bad doesn't detract or make the other things he said false.

How the hell do you come to that conclusion? Did you deduct that all from those 2 little youtube vids?

She is stupid? Could you point me out how exactly she is stupid? And could you please generalize even more, and tell me how horrible this american family exactly is? I want to hate them like you and that douchebag from the video do. It sounds lovely.

And the fact that you like the guy nullifies just about everything you might say. How can you defend a horrible douchebag like that. Sure the woman is fat, but why throw that in her face unless she has a health problem and you're concerned or when she really is an annoying bitch and it slips of your lip? There was no justification whatsoever for the guy to go all apeshit on that woman.

You didn't actually address my question at all and simply reasserted it was "truth." How do you quantify whether or not someone is over-opinionated to the point you can consider it a truth?

I'm not going out on a limb to defend hicks, because there are some really stupid people out there. That said, the woman was at least making some kind of effort to make the swap work -- granted, she had some shortcomings -- but, really, the British twat could have kept a lot of his opinions to himself. He acts like he's on a mission to inform people that they're fat and stupid because he loves America and wants to make it a better place. That's a statement that could qualify for being as delusional as what a hick wants to do with his or her life.

All of that insulting isn't going to do a damn thing to improve that woman's quality of life. In fact, it'll make it worse if anything. It's like teasing a fat kid. Unless people try to make a positive impact on his/her life to get in better shape, that kid is likely to just get fatter as the insults continue to fly.

But this really does demonstrate extremes. The woman is poorly educated, but the guy is just as bad for taking so much fucking pride in the fact that he went to college. People who are that snobby piss me off about as much as those who didn't even graduate from high school and act like they know everything.

But taking a step away from that, a lot of times the way you behave and state your opinions has absolutely nothing to do with how educated you are, but how you grew up.

It's a genuine problem that we only recognise and praise certain types of intelligence. This woman clearly has a kind of intelligence that the guy is lacking. It may not be knowledge based or able to be put into propositional form very easily but intelligence sometiems comes in forms you can't pick up from university. Noone's debating she may be quite uneducated but this doesn't mean she's "dumb" as such.

oh, sorry about that. Anyway, first, what I posted was just the direct thing he said (maybe quotation marks would have helped). Only using what was said before he said that quote, there did seem to be some discussion over when he made his kid do the homebrew by pulling him out of bed. There was also at the start of that conversation where she was trying to talk about how they don't spend enough time time with the kids based on her brief experience. I don't know if there is a ruler to juding just how opinionated someone could be, but for him when he said that, it would make sense.

I do think that he was a dick for how cruely he did treat his kids, but I'm mainly commenting on the treatment of the woman, which is what everyone else is commenting on as well.

I like douchebags, I am a douchebag. I find nothing wrong with being a douchebag to morons, on the contrary for the reasons Drinky Crow mentioned it's actually quite healthy.

As for her and why she's stupid it's pretty simple. Just the typical redneck attitude of "I'm proud of [insert country]" and "oh noes he told a bad thing my country" is enough for me to detect that someone is an idiot.

What's wrong with being proud in your country of birth. If you're born in America you should at least be proud in the fact that you have a leg up than a large part of the world. Sure you were born on some land but it's the fact that what the country stands for, the rights you get at birth and the freedom that is what should make you proud to be an American, fuck all of you.
