The problem is if PS4 has 4GB of Ram and the 720 has 6GB of Ram at the least and GPU's around the 1.5 teraFLOP region then the Wii U might not be able to run the engines for the big triple A next gen games.
The new engines for games like Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Call of Duty ect will be built with the PS4 / 720 specs in mind.
We have already heard that Epic have no plans to use UE4 on Wii U, that says it all imo about the power of the system, i will also not even view the Wii U as a proper 'next gen' console until it shows us something that blows current games away, sure the nice lighting in ZombiU is nice and the water effects in Pikmin 3 are pretty but it really is not a generational leap.
It doesnt really matter about power. I bet the Wii U will be able to run all engines just on lower settings. Epic said that THEY are not planning on putting UE4 on the Wii U but if another developer wants to they can. So, the Wii U can run UE4, just maybe not for a while. Latest Cryengine is on the Wii U as well. So I dont see the engines or the power of the Wii U being a problem. Just closed minded individuals and Devs.
