Wii U Games 2013

And serious question: Do any of you guys think Nintendo is actively working with third parties for exclusives and is hiding some of their games at this time? Just wondering what you guys thought...

Iwata has pretty much said as much, highlighting Fire Emblem X Megaten as just the beginning.

expecting a nintendo direct this week

Me too, at least for Japan for a final G&W showcase before release, details of the April update, Pokemon Rumble U details, and stuff on Tomodachi Collection for 3DS at the very least.

rumble will almost certainly get its own mini direct but an appearence in regular direct is likely too

I personally don't need indie games on my Nintendo consoles. I just need solid release dates for some of their games. I can get a Wii U for cheap but I'm still hesitating seeing as the only games I want are New Super Mario Bros. U and Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate.

Maybe indie isnt the right word. They need some first party downloadables like the art style series. Speaking of art how about art academy? These are the kind of games should be filling the gaps.

They don't know when they'll be done.

Anyone expect a June release for Pikmkin 3?

I don't doubt they're trying. It's just a matter of if third parties are realistically giving this any serious thought. There are those recent Emily Rogers rumours that Nintendo is trying to offer better incentives to developers shopping their games to publishers so.... I dunno.

Tyrone Rodriguez, the head guy at Nicalis hinted we should hear something at GDC about Nintendo's future developer plans. So I guess we'll find out what's going on very soon.

Hope they have something with substance to show at GDC. Like.....third party support. How big of a presence are they supposed to have this year? No keynote speeches by Iwata or nbyrhing, right?

From what I know they don't have any confirmed keynote speeches by Iwata but Nintendo has done crazy stuff before, I'm not 100% sure if this is true but didn't Reggie go to GDC 2011 and go on Sony's booth and showed off the 3DS? Or something like that.

......Is this a thread yet?

Seems thread worthy, someone should make a thread.

TC, instead of deleting games that have released, maybe you could keep them up in the OP, if need be in miniature form or just by title, but with a link to the corresponding game's review thread or something? Just a thought.

This was announced yesterday by 505 Games, regarding Ashes Cricket 2013 developed by Trickstar Games:

SUMMON THE PRIDE OF A NATION THIS SUMMER WITH ASHES CRICKET 2013

Live the action on all formats from 21 June 2013

This summer, 505 games puts you in control of the ultimate rivalry in Test cricket with ASHES CRICKET 2013. To be released for the start of the 2013 Investec Ashes Series, ASHES CRICKET 2013 offers unique and realistic features for cricket fans and gamers alike.

Whether playing on X360, PS3, Wii U or PC, dynamic game play adds variety to each match. Players will have to adapt to varying and altering pitches; whether it’s a green seaming wicket or deteriorating fifth day pitch susceptible to spin and bounce. Weather forecasts will also change, altering the course of the match; overcast conditions will be more conducive to swing, while sunny days are a batsman’s paradise.

IGN also has an article on it, with a cover that's not colour corrected: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/03/20/first-details-for-ashes-cricket-2013-revealed

An RGB cover and supporting logo should be available at 505 Game's press site, but I haven't got an account there: http://505-games.co.uk/

Games Press only had the logo in JPG format (I saved it in PNG to prevent further compression):

I figured it was more sensible to post this here instead of starting a new thread. It's not very interesting, but a new game for the Wii U library still.

Alright, if we get confirmation of Dragon Quest X coming out here in the West, then that along with Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate and New Super Mario Bros. will have sealed it for me. And when I buy, Pikmin 3 and The Wonderful 101 will probably also be available.

I dont know when will most likely see a Wii U direct again but with W101 coming to PAX is it more likely we will get one before attendees and the gaming press ask for a release date this coming friday? With the coming soon thing I hope we get a release date through this.

Looks like i'll be getting Lego next week (EU) after all. I was thinking of waiting a few months, maybe pick it up after a price drop, but i decided to return or sell my copy of NFS as soon as possible, hopefully tomorrow (glad i didn't download). Next game i'm interested in is more than a month away :( Deus Ex.
