Wii U Games 2013

That list sounds very real; the Pikachu 3DS XL edition was confirmed to be out March 24th in March 14th, link. If this is from february, then who wrote this guessed just right.
Yea the list is real. Theres no way you guess pikmin 3s release date that far away. And unannounced? Of course thats retros title. They've been so secretive about it even here its just a unannounced game.

The game's long ready, has been rated, and even has a boxart. It's held back for strategic reasons. The Fit Meter is this:

I doubt it. I think like most Nintendo didn't get the best vibe from it and probably went back to ask "Is this enough?" I wouldn't be a bit surprised if there wasn't a last minute pivot or feature they were trying to implement.

GUYS!!!

There's an easy way to tell if it's real:

Look at the product codes (WUP/CTR):

For games not yet out, watch when they come out and see if they have the same code, THAT must be the best we got.

Man, if only Activision and EA showed the Wii U the same level of support that Ubisoft is showing. Things would be all gravy in the land of Wii.

That "Fall" seems to be Nintendo code for "at some indefinite point in the future." There's no way Bayonetta 2, Project X, SMT x FE & Smash Bros are all going to hit this fall, as epic as that would be.

We are thinking about Mid year up to End of the year 2013. We also have games that are slated for end of the year that we haven't mentioned yet. - Iwata

More games but I doubt one of them is a title from Retro Studios.

No really that is straight up crazy. Nobody here can explain that. Spin it how you want but if that was posted 2 months ago there is something suspect about that list.

Of course its only cause the list is suspect but I believe all those games are coming except smtxfe and smash. I will ride this until e3 haha

Wasn't it in demo-ready form at some point before it was cancelled? Who knows how far along they already were with it?

It was certainly "magazine cover story ready" at the very least.

Bayonetta 2 is a bit of an enigma. I'm not sure anybody knows just how far in development it was (or specifically, what stage of development, such as if full production had started), and nobody knows how much of the original design Nintendo is running with. For all we know they're simply just taking the original build and porting it over to the Wii U. Or maybe a lot of content was scrapped and restarted under Nintendo's guidelines.

Didn't Iwata say once that there would be Wii U titles out for every month throughout the second half of 2013 ?

Didn't Iwata say they learned a lesson from the 3DS?
Didn't Iwata say there wouldn't be a game drought?
Didn't Iwata say Pikmin 3 was a launch</>window game?

just saying :P

Exactly what I thought. It'd be crazy to release Mario Kart and Smash 4 so close.

you convinced me. don't see a 3D Mario on that list. time to sell my Wii U. :P

I wonder why they don't show the "Not Yet Announced" part. seems like it could be a strategic leak.

i don't see what you're talking about. you mean that thing on the very bottom? i thought that is just saying that all the things highlighted in green haven't been announced

For what its worth, the first Bayonetta's development started around January 2007 and it was released in Japan by the end of October 2009. It came out 2 months later for North America and Europe. Platinum Games admitted that it took a year for the dev team to finalize the design for Bayonetta's character design.

That list also explains why Nintendo is not dropping the price of the Wii U. If they really have that many titles slated for "fall" including the next Smash and Kart, they can charge whatever the hell they want for the thing. I really hope they go all out and launch this many games to make up for the horrid launch.

Hmm. The "super secret" screams fake. But the fact that it's 2 months old and we didn't know Pikmin 3's release date until last week is leading me to believe that it might be more than just a fanboy dream.

But getting all those great games in fall? I have a hard time buying all of it.

I can't afford to believe that 'FALL' list

not only would it break my heart if it turned out to be untrue

it would delay my PS4 purchase to afford all those games if true

so I don't want to believe that list. Pikmin 3's delay is enough to tell me Nintendo cannot pull that many games this FALL

Xenoblade Wii U could not be X but a porting of the Wii game (as it was listed in some online shop)

the only impossible things are SMT x FE and Smash Bros this fall

Smash Bros will not come out this autumn. It's been in development under two years (having not yet started at its announcement at E3 2011) and progress was supposedly slowed by Sakurai picking up an injury or something. Maybe autumn next year, but 2015 seems more likely to me, especially given 'tendo's penchant for delays.

Well that would be their plan; it's the strategic delay theory people are throwing around. All the fuel is being poured into the fall to maximize performance, and games like Pikmin 3 are theorized to be done.

If they didn't release when it had the head start it definitely has to before the next-gen consoles come around so it can look good, then once the hype runs out it'll sink back into the motions.

Definitely. I'm thinking maybe 2014 for 3DS version and 2015 with Wii U version. SSB is the kind of game you can start hyping up early.

I would buy this 10x seriously even without good HD I want to play it on Wii U so lazy I hate my Wii Mode

so yeah would welcome this in HD

I've honestly been hoping that pressure for a new Smash makes Nintendo adopt a free to play model where they launch a semi-complete smash game (competitive, online multiplayer focus with a simple Melee-style single player) with 5 characters to start and new updates twice a month. Instead of having a Dojo, they could just give the game away and produce hype with each new update. Every player could choose 1 character to start with and play a shit ton to collect coins and get the newer characters, or just pay $5 a character.

Didn't Iwata say they learned a lesson from the 3DS?- Better launch than 3DS
Didn't Iwata say there wouldn't be a game drought? - Not as bad as 3DS
Didn't Iwata say Pikmin 3 was a launch</>window game? - Delays happen

just saying :P

But than again they didn't learn everything of course.

Well, you know Iwata says a lot of things. :)

Iwata talked about the importance of software momentum which Wii U didn't end up having after launch. Launch window 2013 was gradually shrinking the closer we got to it, leaving nothing for January or February 2013. Sadly, not even Lego City failed to crack the top 10 NPD software chart, the only big exclusive game Wii U has for more than half of the year. Third parties aren't providing any major titles that will boost Wii U hardware sales until at least perhaps late Summer/Fall. Of course, we really know that its the 1st party games that will ultimately sell more Wii U units.

Nintendo does get credit for giving Wii U a better launch lineup than 3Ds had, but it wasn't good enough. Like with the 3DS, Nintendo was relying on past generation evergreen IPs like Nintendogs and New SMBU, but consumers are fatigued on those franchises now. Unfortunately, Nintendo Land was too complex for the expanded audience to understand and appreciate in Nintendo's attempt to spawn a spiritual successor to Wii Sports. Yesterday, someone at GAF said a part of the issue of that particular title was it being "entrenched in Nintendo language."

Pikmin 3's scheduling was disappointing, but we should always remain skeptical about the timing of early game releases like it. If we look back at the Wii in 2006, Nintendo initially planned Super Mario Galaxy to be a launch title, but Miyamoto admitted it could be delayed by up to 6 months. Of course, it ended up being delayed a by a full year. The dev team assumed they could finish the game on time, but it took longer than expected to finish it up. For all we know, the dev team decided it required more time to polish Pikmin3. Shit happens.

That list also explains why Nintendo is not dropping the price of the Wii U. Even if Smash Bros 4 were to come out this year for just Japan, then that would mean its development would have taken under 2 years if it were to come out in say, December. That doesn't seem realistic even with Namco Bandai's expertise in developing fighting games. If we look back at Smash Bros Brawl, development on the project took over 2 years with a full-time team of roughly 100 staff. Although, Sakurai had the first trailer ready to show 7 months after development started.

But dat free to play model! ;_;

Nintendo gave third parties a nice window to fill with games and become
established on a new console especially with new IPs.
Most of these companies, for whatever reason, squandered this opportunity.

This list might be fake, but I dont think, in light of third party performance,
and the launch of two competitive consoles, that Nintendo is going to have an
anemic offering this fall. I would not be surprised if most those games will
come out this year with an "evergreen" strategy.

Does the OP have any plans of making mention of indie titles hitting the Wii U as well?

I've often seen a lot of Kickstarter projects being listed with Wii U versions, though I don't think we have a thread here that has a collection of all the indie titles coming to the Wii U. I think some of them might deserve to get a spotlight, like Shovel Knight.

If ya wanna make a thread, use this list (made by yours truly): http://nintendo.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Wii_U_eShop_games

Those are just confirmed titles. There are a host of other titles that are actively considering the Wii U.

Why is luigi dream team a wii u sku?
Would Nintendo make that mistake?
The release dates being accurate point to it being legit, but some of the things there don't add up. ...

Man if all those games listed as "Fall" are really scheduled to come out in that 3-4 month time period I'd be willing to bet that this is Nintendo's strategy, drop bomb after bomb every couple weeks in the face of the new consoles.

Pikmin then 2 weeks later, Smash. 2 weeks later X. 2 weeks later Mario Kart, ect....

If it's true, I think it could work, somewhat at least. Could also explain them moving Pikmin into the fall was well. Nintendo lining up all cannons.

Well, they don't have any other choice
they rested on their laurels the whole year so...

Smash in Fall to me is impossible, I mean it sounds like Smash will struggle to even be unveiled at E3, I mean Kart and Mario are playable, but Smash will be screens if only that.

But I think a gigabomb of their guns for this year would be wise, but maybe all they need is Mario Kart as that has done more than 3D Mario and even Smash has (at least on Wii), that has some of the biggest mass appeal of all their franchises, it's nuts.

Price drop , re-branding/new ad campaign are coming this fall with all this software is my best guess. It's just a matter of seeing what sony and MS are doing launch date/price wise and then nintendo will try to go for the "hey couldn't get a ps4 or a nextbox, well try out a wii U with a couple of awesome games for just 199.99 or a deluxe model for 299.99 and be sure to purchase one of the half dozen amazing new Nintendo videogames we have coming every 2 weeks from august to november".

Some might say not dropping the price now is not a good move but they have no software which means no reason to buy one and thus all a price drop would accomplish is lost revenue with no extra sales.

I'm kind of in the acceptance stage at this point- there won't be a real reason to have bought a wii U until this holiday.

I partially want to believe this list is fake to be honest. On one hand it does mean that we've got games lined up for fall, but on the other it means Nintendo literally has no surprises in store. Unless this was somehow retroactively edited I want to think this is just some lucky guesses on someone's part. What are they going to have at E3, just a bunch of release dates?

I'm not really buying it. I'm looking forward to megatons just as much of the next guy but this would be rather underwhelming.

Unless Nintendo is also making a Wii U version of Mario and Luigi Dream Team (which I would be happy)

But yeah, that list has to be fake.

"SUPER SECRET" makes it look like a 13 year old made it.

And Nintendo usually very careful with these kind of things, we didn't even know the Zelda timeline up until a year ago.

And I remember a supposed "leak" list of E3 2010.

The list does say "Mario Land 3D" for 3DS which I find pretty odd but yeah.
