Wii U Games 2013

Sucks about Deus Ex.. was planning to get it.

Now that I think about it... it's fucking unbelievable that only Injustice: GAU was the only game released in April.

just when you think the Wii U could not sink any lower

things are pretty bleak right now, I don't even care about Nintendo Directs because anything they show will be at least many months away

I don't think so. Square said "in 2013" and the port seems to be done so there's no reason to not release it at one point in the future. I think it has been pulled back in the waiting for a bigger userbase. I hope so as I was planning to buy it.

The userbase won´t grow much in the next 4-5 months.
Better release it now where there is zero competition.

I'm pretty sure it will grow significantly more than in the last 4-5 months. Even promises of games can move units and they have Pikmin 3 coming which is the first Nintendo game since launch for the system.

If this is Nintendo's plan they need to implement a brutal price cut almost immediately after E3.

Like Basic bundle of $229 and Deluxe for $269.

If the subscription bundle for the next Xbox costs lower than the WiiU and the PS4 is priced within $50 of the Deluxe bundle Nintendo is in trouble.

Why should it? There is nothing in May, nothing in June and nothing in July. That´s already 3 months. August is Pikmin 3 but that won´t move that many units either.

So we are looking at the current or even lower sales numbers until October/November where the first real big Games are expected to hit.

press release in, apologies if old. Game & Wario for 28th June.

THE WACKY WORLD OF GAME & WARIO FOR Wii U GETS UNLEASHED IN YOUR HOME ON 28th JUNE

Play a wild assortment of GamePad games alone or together with friends and family

2nd May 2013 – Wario and his zany friends are back in Game & Wario, a brand new, colourful collection of crazy games exclusively for Wii U! Launching on 28th June, the game utilises the unique setup of the Wii U GamePad controller and the TV screen in innovative and exciting ways for a Wario experience like no other that will keep you coming back for more!

Wario has dabbled in software development since the WarioWare series - and just loves to find new ways to play games with the latest consoles. In Game & Wario, he’s trying his hand at a certain new home console system with a Touch Screen in the centre of its controller… This results in a zany set of games that can all be played using just a Wii U GamePad and a TV screen, whether playing alone or with friends and family.

In Single Player, there are twelve games to enjoy that turn your GamePad into a variety of different objects for different gameplay challenges: use it as a camera, a bow that looses arrows into the TV image, or as a method to steer a skier to the disco, amongst others!

In CAMERA, you’re tasked with snapping photos of escaped criminals with your GamePad! The TV shows a busy street in Diamond City and holding up the GamePad allows you to take a closer look at the scene. Frame those crooks perfectly in your photos to catch them, and earn a high score!

In GAMER, take on the role of 9-Volt, a kid who’s been sent to bed with his favourite handheld gaming system, but is desperate to get a high score… However his mum is prowling around trying to catch him in the act of staying up past his bedtime! While playing microgames on the GamePad, you’ll need to keep an eye on the TV screen which shows 9-Volt’s bedroom, because you’ll have to pretend to be fast asleep whenever his mum pounces! Try to hide-and-play for as long as possible for a high score - just don’t get caught or it’s game over!

You can also try your luck with Chick-N-Win, the chicken-shaped contraption that lays surprise-filled capsules, and get one of over 200 weird and wonderful toys to play with; each one showcasing something fun or eccentric you can do with your GamePad.

Game & Wario also unveils a new twist on playing with others on Wii U: using only the GamePad you can share the fun with friends or family in four different games in the Multiplayer Mode!

In DISCO, you’ll be battling against a friend toe-to-toe in a dance-off, where the players are setting the pace and moves on the GamePad for points. Each player holds one end of the GamePad and tries to outwit his opponent with fancy fingerwork, rhythmically tapping the touch screen in three places to place moves his opponent needs to replicate... Each misstep earns the player’s opponent points – you’ll need the highest score to win – so make sure you can keep in rhythm!

In FRUIT, up to five players play together in different roles: one player becomes a dastardly fruit thief, using the GamePad to work in secret as the others play agents and watch the TV screen, using their powers of observation to find the thief in a crowd and spot when the fruits disappear. The agents have their work cut out for them with bustling streets, passing traffic and smoky chimneys obscuring the view. At the end of the game, each of the agents pass around the GamePad to point out who they think is the thief; but only the most eagle-eyed may win as the line-up of would-be fruit thieves look rather similar!

In ARTWORK, up to five players compete in a sketching showdown to see who can draw and guess drawings the fastest for a high score. Each player takes turns to sketch prompted words as fast as possible on the GamePad, with the other players guessing what the word might be. It’s a frantic test of communication with friends and family as points are earned both for correct guesses and for drawing fast, as one man’s squiggle is another man’s solution!

This game type is also integrated into Miiverse as Miiverse ARTWORK, where you can select one of four prompts to draw in 60 seconds, after which your mini masterpiece, or hilarious doodle, is posted to Miiverse to be appreciated by all! You can even submit your own words to be prompts for others to draw, which may even trend in the Gallery section of Miiverse Artwork as popular words other players are enjoying sketching!

Game & Wario launches exclusively on Wii U across Europe on 28th June, a fun-filled package of sixteen games and hundreds of toys all showcasing the myriad uses of the Wii U GamePad. Unleash Wario’s unique wares on your family and friends for a summer jam-packed with mischief!

Going even lower from here would require some kind of magic tricks. My logic is that past 5 months had no games which resulted in no sales. Next 5 months will probably slowly start to have some games which will result in some sales. Certainly not any worse.

The past 5 months had stuff like Lego City, Monster Hunter and some ports. Which i´d say is about in the same ballpark as Pikmin and the other games we can expect until october.

I strongly disagree with that. Besides there will be stuff we don't know of for Wii U this year. It wouldn't be completely unheard of from Nintendo to reveal stuff that gets released as soon as 3-4 months after that.

As i said, the bigger stuff can be expected from october onward, anything earlier is extremely unlikely. And it would not be a wise decision to release Deus Ex in the holiday season.

Next 5 months includes August, September and October. There will be more than just G&W and Pikmin 3 released in this time frame.

Also, just saw in the PEGI database for Wii U & Vita > Star Wars Pinball

May, June, July, August, September. May has barely begun.

I think W101 coming july, unless it launches with pikmim in august or nintendo count september as summer it should be July.

I don't know why but I feel like TW101 will bomb HARD.
Maybe because I have yet to see its appeal but I don't see it as a huge seller.
Could be wrong tho :P

the appeal is that it's a superhero game releasing sometime in the middle of the inevitable superhero craze that'll hit this summer. it could do well with some smart advertising.

I almost expect it to sell better than it would have if wii u had games regurlarly. The desert may benefit it somewhat.
Userbase will prevent it to do well though. But it's a almost a miracle this thing was greenlit on a hd console in this day and age

So they went 4 months after launch until the next Nintendo published game (Lego City Undercover) and it will be over 7 months after launch until the next Nintendo-developed game hits.

It's really no wonder the console's struggling at this point. They've got to get some games that are killer apps onto store shelves.

You're making it sound so horrible. It's only ALMOST seven months from launch until the next Nintendo-developed game.
in Europe

EU launch 30th November -> 28th June Game & Wario

I think they'd be struggling with or without games. The whole concept of the thing is something I wonder if the general public even cares about.

Hey guys, I found the first review of Resident Evil Revelations, and they gave it a 8.9/10!

What a fucking joke. This channel deserves to be shut down.

Annoying as hell.

Changing topic, I think it was a good move by Nintendo to be indie, small studio friendly, as almost all Kicstarter/Crowd funding projects are targeting the Wii U. Smart move IMO, although not sure if it can mitigate the 3rd party issues.

I am actually looking forward to Revelations on Wii U, I hope it delivers and i am getting it here instead of PS3 and 360

Look forward to this thread after E3. Good job OP

Nice work!

Lego Marvel - Autumn 2013 :)

I think it can and it will. Let's look bigger picture here. Some of these smaller studios are going to become the next EAs, Take Twos, Bethesdas, etc. Good for Nintendo to maintain good relations with a small group of big publishers (Ubisoft, Activision, Capcom, Square Enix, Namco), and go all in on the smaller guys and establish great relationships with them.

It's already working wonders with 5th cell, Shin'en, and and Wayforward...(and Yacht Club, who ironically are ex-Wayforward guys). And it's starting to work with many other developers. Did anyone honestly believe that Double Fine were going to be bringing a game onto a Nintendo platform? That in of itself is an accomplishment.

That's just fucking shameful. And even though its sorta fun LCU is a TERRIBLE showpiece for the hardware.

I just understand how Nintendo let this happen.

That's funny, I've been more active on my U over the past month than ever. Got Punch Out!, then Kirby hit the next week (it was new to me). Injustice is amazing, then the update and VC hit (I love the original Mega Man). Not to mention the Panorama views! Plus, in between I discovered Nano Assault Neo, gave Monster Hunter a shot, and kept going back to AC III. Then Tank! Tank! Tank! come along for free...

It's not all AAA event games, but that's more fun stuff than I've gotten out of most consoles in a month's span. And there's always Miiverse expanding the time you can spend with each one.

I dunno, there's been bad news lately, but I feel like most of it's exacerbated by the internet effect.

Losing Madden and potentially Call of Duty is bad news no matter how one would slice it.

I don't think they're losing COD.

I have mixed feelings on Madden. On the one hand it's uber casual so it matters to the Wal Mart audience if they lose that, but on the other nobody bought it the first time around so the audience may not care that much. I also don't think it's a permanent loss, if the games they have coming this Christmas build up the user base to a decent degree I can see them jumping back in next year.

Plus, there was no college football, baseball, NASCAR, hockey, golf or tennis game this year and nobody said a word. I think it mostly amounts to fuel for forum wars more than many people actually unhappy that they won't be able to play it.

Either way, I wasn't gonna buy it, so kinda don't care.

lol what

It's another Rayman situation, open your eyes.

not sure if the team working on it is big enough to port the Director's Cut but if somehow Square got excited at the possibility of making fans double dip for the boss fixes and stuff it could very well be a port fest

Wii Exclusive was said too lol
