Wii U Satisfaction Thread

One more question, I put on a screen protector and there are a 5 or 6 spots where there is dust trapped in the damn thing... Will that cause a scratch or anything to the screen eventually or is it fine? Every screen protector I put on whether on 3ds, cell phone or the Wii U, I can't avoid the dust.. So basically, will my WiiU pad be fine with some annoying to see dust bubbles?

Why's that? Nintendo doesn't negotiate with terrorists? ;)

I am pretty sure it will be fine, my fiancee did mine for me and I have ONE little spot, the rest is fine so I left it, its annoying but its the best we could get it.

I am in love with my Wii U, however last night I went to open my window, slipped and fall back into my futon. I crushed the screen and completely ruined the controller. :(

I'm such an idiot. I called Nintendo and they are willing to repair/replace it for 100 bucks.

SIGH!

You poor bastard. I have two children, 3 and 10 months. I'm terrified one of them is going to get hold of that thing and play "smash smah" with it.

If you want a netflix player, the Wii U is great for skipping or going backwards thanks to the second screen !

similar to youtube where it shows frames every 30 seconds or so

I had my Wii U since the European launch. I bought a Deluxe on amazon.fr (and they still have a good price for it) and except for Nintendoland I bought only AC III on disc. For the rest I went all digital (together with a 2TB HDD). It is a great fun until now, I had some Nintendoland parties with my friends and I bought quite a crazy amount of games for one month and a half.
The best game for me (I am not into horror games) until now was Trine 2. I started it alone, but then my girlfriend liked it so we played it until the end in co-op mode. I might do another round on solo after the patch, if I find myself bored.
Speaking of my girlfriend, she is not really into games, but she was captivated by Mario and Trine and she really enjoys the off-TV play. And I think that The Cave will be the next co-op game to play together by the sound of it.
I bought AC III but is too early for me to play it as I just finished Brotherhood 2 months ago, so except for the intro part I will save it for later.
I played a lot of FIFA 12.5. Although is practically similar to FIFA 12, I like the gamepad usage, shooting and moving the players on the field are nice once you get use to it.
Now I switched to NBA 2k13, but I keep having some issues with it (waiting forever to connect to 2k sports servers). The offline career works though.
I like also Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and I am waiting impatiently for the Rayman Legends.
I am happy with my Wii U, it's fun, my friends ask me when we going to have another round of Luigi's Mansion (my girlfriend is the unbeaten ghost) and Animal Crossing (I am the unpassable guardian).
I had 4 freezes: 2 in Wii mode and 2 in the past 2 days coming out of NBA 2K13.

I got a Wii U Deluxe at European launch as one of the lucky "Amazon 200", and then a voucher for Nintendo Land which meant I was able to trade in my disc version. Only disc game I own now is Arkham City, but I'm looking to add something new when prices drop or something interesting releases such as Aliens - though the decision to release it later is bewildering...

Overall I'm very satisfied. Arkham City was outstanding, Nintendo Land is much fun both single player and multi-player. I've bought Trine 2 (Completed), Nano Assault (Completed) and Mighty Switch Force on eShop, and will buy The Cave when it's available in Europe. Posting on MiiVerse has been great and the internet browser is surprisingly convenient and well executed

I'm excited to see how the console grows over time.

Miiverse is quite an effective marketing tool. There were a lot of people asking what The Cave was this morning when the Community popped up. Without Miiverse, a lot of those people might never know the game exists.

It's a feature I'm looking forward to
Using when some more niche products release. Stuff Like Baroque, Chocobo's Dungeon etc on Wii would of been much greater experiences if MiiVerse communities were around back then.

Miiverse is great for games involving puzzles. Look at the Trine 2 community. It's very active and helpful and I think it also helped the game being no. 1 in sales.

I'll have to remember to post I am stuck on the 3rd Mine Cart in The Cave

forgot all about asking for help there but I have to wait for more people to get the game today since I woke up 7 hours ago to get it

Still enjoying mine, well NSMB. What a great game!! My fiancee and I just beat it and we enjoyed every second of it, the final battle with Bowser was one of my all time favorite boss fights. Now we are going back and getting every Star Coin and finding the secret level in each area, that should keep us busy for a while, great replay value with this game, cant recommend it enough.

Sonic racing is good but ive taken a little break from it, Nintendoland seems fun but I havnt really played it enough and i need to try it with other people. Little Inferno is better then I thought it would be. Now I am just waiting to hear about more games cause there is really nothing else i want for it at the moment. No big deal since COD and Horizon keep me pretty busy on my 360 when i have time to game

My girlfriend isn't a gamer AT ALL. NSMB is the absolute ceiling of her gaming prowess and ability. With that said, I HIGHLY recommend you play the Zelda game on Nintendo Land with your fiancee. The game is intuitive and fun -- my girl loved it and we beat the first 10 levels together. Just make sure she plays as the swordsman while you tackle the more complicated bow/arrow duty. All she has to do is flick her wrists to attack and hold 'B' to guard. As a multiplayer game, it's criminally fun.

Does anyone know what the story is with the Wii U and 3DTV compatibility? I know that Assassin's Creed 3 can do SBS and top-bottom 3d, but can the Wii U support full HD 3D? I like to play in 3D sometimes, but the loss of graphical clarity when I use the SBS/top-bottom setting makes it not worth using.

It seems as if it *should* be possible, but Nintendo is maddeningly stubborn and they seem to like to leave a few boxes unchecked whenever possible.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat - mine doesn't game, but Mario captivated her and she keeps asking to play. We just got to the end of world 6 last night. Turns out she likes boost mode more than actually playing though - are there any other games that do anything similar to that?

Also, she really likes Pikmin in Nintendo Land, it's really simple and cute. I'd recommend trying that too.

Man, i sooooo tried to get my wife to do it. She had a BLAST doing co-op mario. Setting the blocks for her to jump on was great fun. However, so far, Nintendoland has been 'meh' with her. Nothing has excited her.

BUT...let me tell you guys, I am way in love with Blops2 on Wii U. I don't even like Blops, but I've been digging the hell out of it on the gamepad. There's something really cool about being online multiplayer on the gamepad while on your couch while the wife watches whatever on TV.

I wish Farcry 3 was on this. I enjoy the quick matches of Blops2, but FarCry 3 is the one i'd spend time with on the pad.

Despite the bugs and my SYSTEM FREEZING crashes with Hulu on the pad, I'm still thrilled that I bought the system. I just scaled down and got rid of my PS3, and don't regret it. Kept the Xbox, though. Likely go Wii U/PS4 next gen.

Yeah, I felt the exact same. I was surprised how much I loved Black Ops II, and Far Cry 3 was the one multiplat game I was really missing on the U. I have a PS3 & 360, but I'd rather have it for the pad.

My gf was not a fan of Pikmin, she did really like Yoshi fruit cart tho!

I just can't wait to get home and play some La-Mulana! Then Xenoblade and Pandoras Tower and then Last Story!

I have not even ripped into the Wii Library let alone the Wii U!

Does anyone else wish that the top of the gamepad was made out of the same non glossy plastic as the bottom? I know I do. It would be amazing.

sounds good, ill check it out, i know shes all about finishing every last thing we can with mario but ill give nintendoland more of a chance soon

I´m really happy with my WiiU but is there an official explanation about the hard lock \ freezing?

It happened to me on ACIII a lot!

But otherwise I´m having a blast with the family

Are you using an external hard drive just plugged in with USB to the Wii U and no external power supply by any chance? I've heard that if you have a hard drive that doesn't have a separate external power source or can draw power from both of the Wii U USB ports that the system is unstable and can lock.

Not sure of your setup, need details and frequency. Are you all digital, disc based?

This is funny because my girlfriend insists on being the archer...and really, she's probably better at it than I am! But yeah, it's such a great co-op game and she really enjoys it.

If I were to buy Mario digitally, would it still work with the save file from the disc version?

I don't really want to go digital, but it's tempting purely because the disc drive is rather loud when it's spinning a disc. :/

Going by what other posters have said who have done that: yes.

I haven't so I can't personally guarantee it but it certainly seems to be the case.

my eShop digital download only plan, ( No eShop, No Sale ) has changed a bit

there are games which have convinced me I will buy both a Retail Copy for my Shelf hopefully a LE version of the game and the eShop digital copy to play on my Wii U

Wind Waker HD
Monolith's X

Yes I will double dip so hard

Funny, I was considering this...not the double-dipping so much, but getting disc versions. But then I thought about how much I love not having to switch discs...

I have $10 in eShop credit. Is Ninja Gaiden 3:RE worth $50?

It sure would be nice if Nintendo just allowed us the option of installing games, ala the Xbox 360. Not having that disc drive spinning is a big plus.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge is now available for digital download!

in EU? Forgot you guys were waiting for this game.

It is fun hope more people can enjoy it

yes it has its issues but I loved it enough to fight to reach the end... HARD game even on Normal it still made me sweat

I must admit I haven't played my WiiU a lot during the last two weeks, but mostly because I'm wrapping up Fallblox and Fire Emblem SS on the 3DS, both very long and veeeeery addictive games, but I'm planning to buy ZombiU asap and maybe The Cave

that said, I can barely wait anymore for Rayman Legends, W101 and Pikmin 3. That Nintendo Direct made me love my console even more :xxx

I got Black Ops 2 today. So far I'm enoying it multiplayer even though it's pretty empty compared to other console counterparts. I love all the differents way the game can be played (Pad, Pro controller, Wiimote hell even classic controller on the wiimote works!).

With NSMBU, Nintendo Land and Nano Assault mostly wrapped up (slowly crawling through ZombiU), my Wii U time has been mostly devoted to MiiVerse. It's still really entertaining, even with the crappy images I draw. Just browsing some of the great artist on there will take hours out of my day.

Once Monster Hunter hits, it'll be on every day for hours on end. We have two big MonHan players in this house so it'll be going.. a lot.

yep that's one feature I'm surely missing. Miiverse really is fantastic

Dunno if it is faire to compare a console with handhelds but i already put mors time in the wiiu than in the vita and 3ds in their first year really, well in the same life circle once mario kart hit the market it was on :p

Really not sure what to buy next. Have a huge ps+ backlog and completed zombiu playthrough with a bad ending :/ mario i just need to collect all the stars. Do you guys have some eshop recommandations? The cave looks fun and trine 2 wonderfull but i have got that one on the ps3. Not shure if it is worth the 17 euro price tag..

All with all, jeah i love this console than i did with my other console launchea

Pleasure :).

Oh God yes! :(

Not having that disc drive spinning is a big plus.

Indeed.

The cynic in me says that that is why they don't allow it i.e. to 'encourage' digital downloads.

The optimist in me says that they will enable it in one of the two firmware updates that are hitting in a few months.

The pragmatist in me says to just get on with it.

:/

I started Batman Arkham City Armored Edition last night. Game looks great. Does it run at 1080p natively? I don't remember the 360 version looking this clean.

The game plays great, and I love the gamepad controls. Using the gamepad screen to fly the baterang and use other gadgets with is a nice way that immerses you into the game more than a normal game controller does. I like that you can also use gyro to aim.

Off-Screen gamepad gameplay is nice and looks good, like Assassins Creed or Black Ops 2, and not mediocre like Sonic Racing.

The one and only issue I have with the title is that it does have some frame rate drops here and there. They happen, but not a lot. And when they do, it's really not a big deal.

If someone hasn't played the other versions of this game, it's clearly a 9.5/10

If someone has and wants to double dip, then it's probably a 8/10

So I have some what of a dilemma, I need help choosing the 2 best games to purchase. The following games are:

Batman AC
ME3
Darksiders 2
NG3

Downloading my first demos now since launch. I can't believe we're dealing with this antiquated install system like PSN again.

Also why the hell is there a limited number of times I can play a demo??

Antiquated?

Anyway, Wara Wara Plaza updated. Balloon Fight and The Cave replaced Sonic Racing and Assassin's Creed III.

Batman AC, worry about other stuff 50+ hours of gameplay from now; the only time you're able to put it down may be when you're finished it.
