I've just downloaded Kirby's Adventure and it took me less than 2 minutes to download and install it and start playing it... This 30p games are an great way to say thank you to the early adopters... :)

i can't get no.... duh-nun, duh-nun... satisfaction....

:D

waiting for MH3 to hurry up and reach me mail box. definitely going to pick up kirby for 30c, but they better bring it at e3 this year.

Buy used or wait for a price drop.
Or if you want something now that's in a bundle get one of those in some deal, like Target has a $50 gift card w/console thing going on now I think. If you want all the bundled stuff it's somewhat like a price drop.

Don't give in to that consumer lust. Just wait, the price will go down along with a more attractive bundle option come the fall. I've just been using mine to watch It's Always Sunny on my toilet.

Buy used or wait for a price drop.

Thanks for the input guys. Yes, as it is now. It is only consumer lust, and as I have other things to fix economically, it will probably have to wait.
Buying a used console is not my thing. And especially not with a gamepad that is a screen. Just too afraid of scratches & stuff.
So maybe wait for a price drop then...

No, it was terrible! I had to buy nintendoland full price just because it somehow came without it.

At least nintendoland is amazing! Cant believe the reviews scores were so low.

are you sure dude?
I bought the same bundle, and there deffinitely was a code to download Nintendoland for free.

that was the first thing I did with the system.

I'm at a point now where I'm glad I didn't invest in buying any retail games via the eShop. Selling Assassin's Creed 3 finally after getting to 91% completed after 40 hours. The online is dead so I see no point in keeping it (with the DLC costing as much as it does) and Amazon.com is offering a decent enough price for it at the moment. If I got it digitally I'd be stuck.

Yeah, I'm all digital but it does sting a little to know I paid so much for single player games that are just going to sit on my hard-drive. It does not hurt at all when I get xbox games on demand for 15-20 dollars (especially since I try and get a discount on the Microsoft points as well as wait for sales on Live). I can't wait for a year to pass by so I can pick up games like Darksiders 2, Batman: AC, and ZombiU digitally at $20-$30 price level.

I thought DS2 was dropping from the eShop at the end of the month due to THQs implosion. Or did I dream that?

I've been playing Lego City Undercover for the past two days. The game really is pretty damn good... now I haven't played the actual GTA games after SA, but this game feels fresh compared to SA, and has much less fluff. It's closer to GTA 3 in that way.... There's something interesting everywhere you go, and not just one identical looking building after an another, which was a problem which especially Assassin't Creed III suffered. The humor in the game is maybe a bit too "nice", but still doesn't feel lame, like modern Simpsons episodes, so it's easy to laugh along with the jokes... (yellow lego heads remind me of Simpsons, sorry).

The load times are terrible though. Luckily they are there only when you enter or exit a mission area, not when you drive around the city.

edit: oh yeah, the game is also pretty easy, or has been so far. And while the game is usually pretty non-violent, occasionally during the fight scenes you do a finishing move that smashes the enemy lego guy to pieces. What the hell is that about?-o

Struggling to finish my dissertation so I can play those.

I don't know where else to ask this without making a new thread, but... can you use the Wii U Pro controller while playing Wii games on the Wii mode of the console? Or is it restricted to Wii controllers?

I started playing some Smash Brawl again late yesterday, but since I cannot use the Gamecube controller, and I don't really like using the original Wii Classic Controller for this game, i'm hoping that I can use the Wii U Pro one.

Edit : Nevermind, I got my answer through Google... Damn, doesn't work. :( Guess I'll have to buy the Wii Pro Classic Controller or stick with the original one.

Since the VC doesn't look to have much that I want this week, I downloaded Nano Assault Neo instead - damn, this game is nice! Having played this, Geometry Wars & Super Stardust, I definitely feel like this is the one I clicked with most, and fastest.

Outside Trine & Switch Force, are there any other hidden gems on the eShop?

BIT.TRIP Presents Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien & Little Inferno are two of the very best experiences I've had on Wii U. Runner2 is great is you like any combination of platforming & music, & it offers a lot of value for its price. Little Inferno is sort of a heady, atmospheric experience that deconstructs the very idea of what a video game is, or should be.

Question:

I just made a new NNID today with my PSN name (PokeDrago) as it has consistency with other usernames and I like it more than my old one, Super64 (yuck).

I purchased Trine 2 and the four 30¢ games on that account and it gives me the option to purchase them again on the new account but it prevents me as it's already on the console. Are my old games tied to my old account and, while usable on the new account, I don't actually own them now basically (like on PSN)?

I assume that's how it works but I just want to make sure. Don't really want to rebuy the VC games in the future on the new account (though I doubt I ever would at the prices they're at). :/

They are tied to the system.

I assume I know the answer to this, but can I watch Netflix on the WiiU and play a game on the gamepad at the same time? Can you watch Netflix on the gamepad? Why would anyone need to do that?

1) can I watch Netflix on the WiiU and play a game on the gamepad at the same time?
2) Can you watch Netflix on the gamepad?
3)Why would anyone need to do that?

1) No

2) Yes

3) Means someone can be watching something on Netflix, while another person watches a DVD/Normal telly on the TV

I was satisfied for about a month. Then I realized that realistically there are no games coming out that I want for almost a year. So I sold my WiiU and now going back to catching up on Wii games.

Surprisingly, I'm quite satisfied with this Rayman Legends Challenges App thing. Ubisoft did alright. I don't think I'll ever fully get over my bitterness but this is helping a lot.

Hey everyone I finally ordered a Wii U not too long ago, as a gift for my upcoming birthday! I bought a basic for ~$280, and I also was able to snatch a "brand new" Nintendoland for $27 (hopefully has CN codes and not the deluxe pack-in). I'm proud to have arrived in the next generation!

Now some questions:
Is the Google Street View still free?
Can I use a small USB flash drive to help add to my 3GB available memory?
Any other advice?
How long will it take to download all those updates (including 3.0)?

I basically bought it right now instead of waiting because I basically got both items for $310 (vs ~375 for deluxe), like white better than the fingerprint-prone black, had some Amazon credits, and there's a chance Amazon will charge tax everywhere soon. Welcome me to the happy Wii U owners club!

Welcome my friend!

Streetview is still free.

USB flash sticks are not recommended as they are slow. Use an external HDD with a power source.

Download some demo's immediately. Rayman for sure.

If your Wii U is firmware version 1.0.0 or something, you got around 6GB to download up to 3.0.0. It could take a few hours to do so. Maybe 3 or 4 if you got cable.

Hey guys, quick question about these 30c games! Are they all still available for this price right now? Or is it that after the month they were on sale they go back to full price? Unfortunately I was in the hospital with recurring health problems and was unable to make any discounted purchases :( any info is greatly appreciated :)

Cool, thanks!

I only have an external 1.5TB HDD, but as I understand it I cannot make a partition for the Wii U. I do have some (I think) class 8 microSD cards along with a USB SD reader. Is that fast enough to store some demos or so?

SD cards in the sd slot currently only work for Wii mode stuff, apparently some people have used USB flash drives fine so sd card in a usb stick might work maybe download some demos to test one out?

An SD card in a reader stick definitely works. Just make sure the card is fast enough - not all cards of the same class are created equal.

I've been through several USB sticks, an SD card reader (with class 10 cards), and I'm currently using this USB stick. It provides excellent speed and occupies minimal volume at the back of the console, leaving enough room for another device on the adjacent usb port (this key is an in-connector design - you can surgically remove the plastic shell around the connector - the performance of the stick will remain unaffected).

Just wanted to say that I'm soooo looking forward to play Super Metroid again next month - even though I just completed a run three weeks ago on my Snes lol. That Gamepad difference!

Looks like Wii U VC just came out in Japan. They've added Miiverse communities for all launch titles and users are already posting screenshots.

I have not played it yet. I played the original and sucked at it, and I played Primes 1 and 3. As somebody who specifically likes Mario/Kirby style platformers and has little qualm with the idea of backtracking (I like nonlinearity in games) but can get somewhat lost between game sessions, what should I prepare myself for?

Yes, it was pretty strange
Its an US wiiu, im sure of it
It came with zombiU and the pró controller
But it didnt had any kind of code or flyer for nintendoland
In fact, theres no "Nintendo land Seal" on the box
