Wii U Satisfaction Thread

I just recently got mine, having fun, probably going to play some NintendoLand with friends and family. But the GoogleMaps app and going through places with my parents was enough to warrant a purchase. It's always nice to have family together.

Maybe... Lego City Undercover, New Super Mario U, or Nintendoland?

These 3 for sure. Nothing else really great on the console that a child can play.

Yes those 3 are good, although NSMBU is on the tough side IMO, NSMBwii is easier.

I would add Sonic Racing if he likes racing games or NFSMWU.

Yeah I was gonna mention NFSMWU, might be hard on his own but it's still fun wreaking havoc regardless, and the co-driver mode works well if he has someone better to play with to compensate on the controls (albeit still a bit crazy as I found out when playing with my nephews and nieces a few weeks back).

Don't forget eShop stuff, maybe set up an account for him/parents and give a gift card.

LEGO City Undercover should be your NUMBER ONE CHOICE.

Seriously, for a 5 year old, it will be a dream come true. It'd be the ultimate "cool" gift, and by extension you'll be the coolest five year old cousin!

Watch him sit in front of the screen and play it for hours and hours.

He may give up on NSMB:U (too hard), and get bored with Nintendo Land, but LEGO City Undercover is something he will treasure!

Thank you all, I appreciate your help.

I just want him this little cousin of mine to have a great experience. He was prematurely born, and he could bearly hear. Actually it is a miracle that he survived because he was born while being only 5 months in the womb. He was hearing impaired but back in December he had surgery to get a Cochlear Implant and can now fully hear!

To me, videogames treasure awesome music and he is turning 6 this week and we'll get him a Wii U. He can finally hear and he is like a little brother to me. Just want him to experience videogames like I did when I was a kid and hopefully the VC will be there available soon for him to start playing some classics.

He is still not as skillfull as other kids yet, but he will get there!

How is the netflix app working? Considering signing up. (edit: EU)

The great price deals here in South Africa seems to be over. Everything is 50-200% more expensive again. Everything feels overpriced again lol...
Retailers saw the console actually selling, then pushed up the price again to where it was.

sorry if I'm a slight OT but I'm a Junior

http://maxbuy.cc/?page_id=1045 hahaha

thought this could deserve his own thread, but I can't open it.

Note: I'm not familiar with this brand though. Never heard of it.

Dude, that's actually pretty awesome...

I'm digging the Xbox 360 controller adaptor too

edit: actually, I'm digging it less now I see you have to have a big box tethered between the controller and the Wii U -- still, it's pretty cool that it's possible

ive got it, and i really like it, the gamepad is quite awesome

like a lot of people I just wish there was something to play on it

maybe I will get injustice for it

What about Toki Tori 2? Yes, it's a "minor" game, but we are at a time where even those minor games can be awesome if they are well designed, and this is the case of this AWESOME game.

I actually have now too many games on it. :)

LCU still not finished, NFSMWU, Toki Tori 2 and Runner 2, all waiting for me to have enough time to play them.

I also downloaded the Rabbids Land (with the Ubisoft promotion) and looks like a good addition to Nintendo Land for the party nights with friends.

Took my Wii U over to a friend's house, the interesting thing is that Nintendo aren't wrong when they say people like it once they get it in their hands. After explaining the gamepad's features, all three of my friends thought it was pretty cool, even though none are particularly dedicated gamers (they do play, just not often). There's obviously appeal there, it's just amazing Nintendo seem to be relying on word of mouth entirely - not a good strategy when the console's first five months are a complete game drought - to get the message out.

I am still having syncing issues with my gamepad, I never really got an answer to this before, but some folks in this thread suggested I desync and resync my gamepad in order to fix this problem....I never got an answer to this question though. How do I remove sync of the gamepad to the system? I can't figure it out. There is no option under system settings to do so.

Someone else earlier in the thread claimed this worked for them, but never explained how you remove sync of the gamepad?

This is just frustrating, because I am no more than 5-6 feet away from the system, with no obstructions, and it'll lose sync randomly with the system.

Man, can't wait for Super Metroid at 30 cents!...all I could afford on games right now xP

Can't wait for tax returns to get some Wii U games I haven't been able to get from launch! Darksiders II, Batman, AC 3 and add the current releases of NFS, Lego City and Monster Hunter. Sucks being poor :(

Already finish the ones I could get (Zombi U, LOVEEEED every second of it!), Ninja Gaiden (was a gift, enjoyable but gets repetitive and not much to do than go foward), Nintendoland (so need a new multiplayer game, love it...but only have this one as multiplayer kind of burns it out) and Sonic Racing (The demo sold me on the game and it is a GREAT game :D...but I haven't found any one online :( )

Love the Wii U. I have all the consoles and the portables, but its my favorite to play. Just need more NeoGaf friends for mp. My Nintendo ID is ENEWTABIE.

Guys, is the Wii U getting anything significant between now and...Pikmin 3? (That aren't VC titles or rereleases).

Thanks, but why did you include so many games after August? I said games I can play between now and Pikmin, and especially not rereleases of old games. Injustice I got on the PS3 though.

Spin the Bottle? Duck Tales? Really? Seems there's absolutely nothing interesting, holy shit :-/

Nothing confirmed, but The Wonderful 101 will most probably be released in july.

I know this isn't the 'Wii U customer service thread', but it seems to be the most active and general purpose one currently in use, so apologies in advance for posting a little off-topic - I'll edit if people are truly irked by it. Anyway...

Has anybody tried to sync their Gamepad after the inital synchronisation process?

I've tried to do it (after having a few Gamepad connection issues) and it has resulted in the controller display freezing on a message screen which tells me I've already synced the device. The 'please wait...' seems to be perpetual and so I need to reset the console to get out of it.

Would be interested to hear if anybody else has experienced this, or even if people haven't after trying to re-sync. Cheers, people.

edit, misread your post.

I haven't had any connection issues with my gamepad but I tried this out and yes the controller locks up (or i'm just not waiting long enough to see if it does finish whatever it was trying to do).

Many thanks for the feedback.

It's interesting to hear another person is getting the same thing with the locking up while trying to re-sync. I'll see if any more responses come back before contacting Nintendo's CS to see if this is supposed to happen. Although if your system is working fine and you're seeing the same as me, then I'm more inclined to think that it is a quirk of the OS, rather than a problem with the hardware.

I am excited about the Harddrive features of next-week's update you can transfer your stuff from one drive to another but I wonder if you can plug in two at the same time I would like to have a small SSD for my most played online games on my Wii U

also like being able to press a button while starting up to go to Wii Mode which I have ignored and not sure if I'll ever finish Skyward Swords or The Last Story if I don't find Wii Mode interesting and easy to get to

yea I would assume you can if it can now read data from 2 different HDDs but we'll see I guess.

Tried ME3 multiplayer yesterday, the hosts kept dropping so I hosted my own game. Ended up playing for 5 hours yesterday with a few katana wielding players. People wouldn't stop until we finished the thing on Bronze and Silver, it was actually kinda fun.

Also got that Epic Micky 2 game, didn't even get stars with it for Nintendo Club and the whole game is just feels like one gigantic waste of potential to me atm(at least in single player).
PS. Headphones that work with that game, woke up the whole house since the same volume on normal TV is 50 whereas 5 is already almost too hard for the WiiU

Anyone else have that problem, where the volume from watching normal Tele is heavily disproportional to the WiiU?

They are getting my 5 year old cousin a basic set this week for his birthday. He will be playing some Wii games for kids on it since his Wii died last week. Any recomendations though on which Wii U games would be good for him? I might get him one for his birthday! Serious question here so help will be appreciated.

Nano Assault Neo is a good one on the eShop end of things, too. Since he can hear again, give him something good to listen to and pick that up for him.

I have been thinking more and more of buying a Wii U. Although it is the price that is still an issue... Tried WU at a friends, and it really feels nice with the gamepad & off tv play.

The thing is that my storage is full of old consoles, and l really cannot afford just to have another thing that I don't play.

Don't give in to that consumer lust. Just wait, the price will go down along with a more attractive bundle option come the fall. I've just been using mine to watch It's Always Sunny on my toilet.

Buy used or wait for a price drop.

I had the lockup while trying to re-sync. I just let it sit and 10 minutes or so later it returned to the home screen and I haven't had any connection issues since. (Knock on wood)
