Gamefly has ZombiU for $20 + shipping I think

That's an amazing price for it, loved the game on launch and it spooked the hell out of me

Get it people

It says free shipping. It's used, though. Still a really good price.

edit: Gamefly seems to primarily be a rental service. Do I need to worry about the wear and tear on the disc, or should I expect it to be okay?

Any game I've ever ordered from Gamefly has come in fantastic condition. Truly. All like new condition, with manual and case.

Seriously, I have been evading ZombiU so much, it scares the shit out of me and provides me with lots of stress. I complete a main task and call it quits when I play.
It is the scariest game I have ever played.

I hope we get a sequel some time in the future.
Haha, yeah, I know what you mean. I only played the demo but it was just too much. I want to relax when I game, not feel like my life is in danger :). Still, SmokyDave and other people here talking it up makes me want to pick it up.
I'm so bad with horror games. Even RE4 stresses me out. People always laugh at me when I tell them that. :(
It stressed me out the first time I played it too. I gave the controller to my friend and was like "here, you play it." But you get used to it after awhile and can tell where things are going to pop out. I've played it a couple times since then and love that game.

Yeah but I don't have a subscription to their rental service. There's no buy option on it anymore just Rent for me. I guess they ran out?

I think the $20 price they were referring to was always the Keep it option as GameFly doesn't have any Wii U games available under their Buy tab.

I saw it earlier with the buy option and decided to purchase it now but it's gone.

It's okay I will wait for it to be on sale another time.

The survival mode is getting on my nerves too. Tried 6 times already,.
Even when you know exactly whats gonna happen, it somehow manages to be terrible and scary

Hnnngggg I want this...

Neat. My order of Zombi U has already shipped.

One of the nice things about a system that is having market difficulties is that it seems easier to get good deals sometimes. Every single game with the exception of NSMBU I've bought so far has been substantially discounted.

It's almost the same sort of glee I got picking at the Virtual Boy and Dreamcast cadavers.

Sonic & All-Star Racing Transformed is pretty awesome on the Wii U. Glad I got it for $19.99. I didn't think I'd ever say this, but SEGA has created some really stiff competition for Mario Kart! I hope Nintendo does some interesting things with Mario Kart U.

I didn't see this functionality until just now, but it's good to see Nintendo do DLC purchasing right on the Wii U. No more going into the software and then using the in-game store, buying and downloading every single piece one at a time (even though the 3DS eShop shows the list of DLC... you just can't purchase or download from there).

Just going to the eShop, checking off all of the the DLC I want to download for that game, and doing that all in one transaction is nice.

Sorry if this has come up already, but what's a good external USB HDD to get for downloading Wii U games? Is there anything recommended or does it not really matter? The Wii U just uses USB 2.0, right?

If you buy one that Nintendo doesn't recommend, make sure it has an external power supply. The system hard locks easily when there are problems with the USB drive.

I have a WD My Book, and it works great. But a cheaper Buffalo drive (not the one Nintendo recommends) caused some resets every now and then. Even with an Y-cable.

I own a Wii U but I find it kind of desperate and pathetic to make a "Wii U Satisfaction" Thread just to justify the purchase. At the moment, it's not that great but it will get better.

These kind of threads are pretty much the main reason why others hate us Nintendo Fans so much. We like to live in a fantasy world.

Nope, people hate you because you make stupid posts like this.

I think that could be said of all fanatics for their brands, I find more reasonable Nintendo fans than other groups, I think most Nintendo fans that own a Wii U right now agrees with your whole post, but I wanted to point out... all fans get like this... I posted practically the same thing earlier in this thread, I'm cool with the Wii U right now, its had some of my favorite games the past 6 months, it has software issues like every launch system, and you're not going to be satisfied if you don't like launch software... which is usually ports and rushed games, in this case it's ports, rushed games, and a couple of gems... which is par for the course with Nintendo.

Honestly anyone that buys launch hardware should be used to this now, but there will be many more "pat yourself on the back and justify your purchase" threads, for years to come, from all fan bases.

This thread was made in response to a thread about people who were dissatisfied with their Wii U. At the time, I also felt it was unnecessary, but it's evolved into a general thread where Wii U owners who like the system can discuss the console and experiences without having to deal with people who don't like it and trolls.

I'll probably go with the same one that you have. Are you using the 1TB version?

I think it's reasonable to feel the way you do, and I agree that the system isn't that great right now but will get better, but I don't think a thread like this is a bad idea. It's pretty much a "Wii U Owners' Discussion Thread." It's good to have a place that isn't necessarily filled with doom and gloom so you can ask questions that don't necessarily justify their own thread.

I absolutely love the little Ninty touches. My Mii was showered with confetti due to it being my birthday today. It's things like that which make me love this company. (Now lemme go find my 3DS and see if there's anything there).

Every purchase experience I've had with them has been fantastic. Among roughly five games purchased, not one had a scratch. Original packaging was flawless as well.

I think it's more a section for people to discuss the particular things/games they've enjoyed about the system (which others may not have known about) than it is a collective "this platform can do no wrong" round-circle.

Like, it's a limited library, but if people might have missed things they would enjoy, it's a good environment to learn about them. I think it serves a meaningful purpose.

(On principle though, I agree with you.)

How does postage works on that site? If i choose EMS and the postage is really expensive.. can i change it before they send it?
Yes.

Once the item is in-stock, they send you a link to confirm payment along with the shipping cost chosen at the time of pre-order. While the shipping cost in the email is calculated into the overall price [the invoice], you can change it easily by selecting another shipping option once you click the payment link [the one they send you]. They even have estimates and everything ready to go for the shipping method(s) that are available. It's extremely painless. So you don't need to worry about choosing the correct shipping method now, simply place your order and wait for release.

That being said, unless you're shipping another item it should easily fit into SAL/SAL Registered. Unless, of course, you want it ASAP, in which case you'd choose EMS. Either way, it shouldn't cost much to ship. I can't imagine it's neither heavy nor large. >:)

Holy shit I'm loving Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate. I'm really terrible at it since I haven't played any Monster Hunter games since Freedom Unite came out on the PSP. I bought a Pro controller with it, and I honestly think the Wii U Pro controller is the best controller out there. Perfection apart from the lack of analog triggers.

I think the Wii U OS really lacks Nintendo charm tbh. Too many sterile white screens.

I wish I hadn't bought it on launch day, seeing as I didn't really play it much until Monster Hunter came out, but it will serve its purpose. It was never meant to be my main system, it's merely the console I will go to for Zelda, Smash, Mario, etc. and with that in mind, it will come into its own in time.

At first I thought like this still kinda do but now this is just a general Wii U discussion thread. So I let it slide.

For me, it's the Wara Wara Plaza that houses the Ninty Charm. The menu part is pretty bland like the Wii's, but I guess that's Nintendo's new charm. Well going by the DS family and it's most recent consoles.

It's sort of a weird situation, where instead of having disparate threads, they created a community section where the Wii U discussion (eventually, after much grumbling) fit quite well, but then after the group was all used to the idea of a community thread, the decision was made to no longer have them, so... we're still used to having community threads so essentially we use this one.

Anyway, more on topic:

I noticed that I become more satisfied as I purchase more games for a system. I think that this is because somewhere deep in my mind I store an approximate average price that I've paid per game. So I decided to actually math it out a little. So far, I've purchased four games (one of them is currently on the way). Overall, I spent $300 on the console, $100 on the games, and $0 on accessories (and obviously $0 on online transactions). This does not count games that aren't available at retail shops, as they'd serve as a rather ridiculous skew on the numbers. Maybe I'll include those in a separate funputation.

This means that I've spend so far an average of $100 per game. Zoiks, that's getting a bit pricey, but at least it's down about 67% from when I first got the system! From the vague looks of it, my average game will be down to the $80 to $90 range by the end of the year. I've enjoyed every game I've so far purchased, most of them a lot, but I'd like to get this number down eventually to something reasonable, like $50. Then I'll truly be contented.

So, I'm curious: In terms of total system+accessory+game+etc divided by number of games, how much are you guys ponying up? And are you satisfied with that number?

So, I'm curious: In terms of total system+accessory+game+etc divided by number of games, how much are you guys ponying up? And are you satisfied with that number?

I spent $250 on the Deluxe set, including tax. $31 on a new copy of Need for Speed, and $40 on a used copy of Lego City. No accessories and the only digital download was Kirby's Adventure for $0.30.

So, I've spent $107 per game (assuming you count Nintendo Land in there). That's obviously fairly high, but that should drop rapidly as I pick up one or two more games used/on sales for around $30-40 each. I'm happy for now though. I've only put about 10 hours into the system and that's having owned it for about a month. I only play about 2-3 hours a week, so I was never expecting to buy a ton of games... and, thankfully, that also means I have no issues with a "drought" that the average Gaffer complains about, because I've basically only played Lego City and I'm only about 15% complete with that; NFS and NL have only been dabbled in a tiny bit up to now.

After taking some time off LEGO City, I'm currently going through a "beat the crap out of everyone" phase, switching from Tekken to Injustice to Ninja Gaiden and then back.

I tried restarting ZombiU for probably the 10th time but "failed" miserably again.

For some reason my brain can't accept the fact that after the first character dies, story/game continues with the next one.

I promised myself that even if when I die, I'll not quit but instead continue with the next character. It didn't work, again.

Anyways, having fun with the system, "software drought" is a relative term I think.

Btw bumped into this RETRO job listing. (source)

So my Wii U Basic finally arrived from Amazon except... It's missing the gamepad...

I guess some Amazon worker must have snatched it to bring back for his Wii console at home :lol

The fuck? Lol. Probably wants an extra gamepad even though no game support two gamepads yet lol.
