OP will be updated - cheers!

It seems you used vectorman's false Miiverse moderation blurb that I asked him to change many times.

This one is wrong said:
Nintendo has suggested that some kind of moderation will be in place to ensure offensive comments don't slip through the net. It has been suggested that comments could take as much as 30 minutes to reach their intended destination due to moderation, but it is currently unknown if this limitation will be relaxed when speaking to people who have already confirmed you as a friend.

Should read
This one is correct said:
Nintendo has suggested that some kind of moderation will be in place to ensure offensive comments don't slip through the net. Messages will automatically pass through a "bad word"-type filter and appear instantly if cleared. Users can then flag those messages if they are still inappropriate which will then involve Nintendo with moderating the message which may take up to 30 minutes.

I don't get it. This is supposed to be a next-gen console but people are gushing over current gen multiplatform releases? Is Nintendo getting a free pass because it's Nintendo, or because everyone already had such low expectations? I mean, it's launching at a next-gen price so... I don't know. I just don't get it.

I mean relative to most console launches, the games themselves are better, but of course that's going to happen when they launch with late current gen ports.

Don't fall for trollbait! We need you here :D

If you read the other Wii U threads then there are just a handful of people who would buy BLOPS2 for example; everybody else wants the stuff that isn't multiplatform.

It's a unfair statement!

Nice work Nibel! I've been lost for a couple days in a sea of trolls, meltdowns and random threads. I have a home again, thankyou!

Got me a ZombiU pack, a premium pack and a basic pack pre ordered on amazon. Hedging my bets and seeing what happens with the prices ;)

Yes all they have is ports, and the game pad does nothing special... So wii-u is the same as this gen!

Some people are looking forward to the gamepad experiences of zombi-u and Nintendo land and some of us passed on the infamous mass effect 3 and the gutted ninja gaiden 3 so now is the opportunity to try them out now that they have dlc and other additional content packed in. Others may just want to try out a game just to have something else to play besides Mario-u

Plus dat monster hunter 3

Something I find interesting is in looking at Japan so far, there really isn't a ton there from 3rd parties numbers wise. Monster Hunter at launch automatically makes 3rd party support pretty decent, but out of the 3rd party games announced for launch, only 3 of them are actually from Japanese developers.

Also the complete list for launch window is pretty sparse.

I still think there will be some more announcements in the weeks ahead.

My shopping list:

Launch:
WiiU Premium Nintendo Land Pack

Retail:
Zombi U
Rayman

Digital:
Trine 2

2012:
Assassins Creed 3
Cod BLOPS2

Until March 2013
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
007 Legends
Darksiders 2.

My GF is planning on buying:

Just Dance 4
Rabbids Land

NA Launch line up?
from Go Nintendo said:
Nintendo hasn't officially said what Wii U games will be available day one. They're still only talking in terms of launch window. With that said, it looks like Nintendo.com might be offering up a bit more information.

The pages for Rayman Legends, Black Ops 2, Assassin’s Creed III, ZombiU, Mass Effect 3: Special Edition, Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, Rabbids Land, Just Dance 4, Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, MADDEN NFL 13, NBA 2K13, TRANSFORMERS PRIME, Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2013, Game Party Champions, and ESPN Sports Connection all list Nov. 18th as the release. All other game pages have TBD or Holiday. I don't know about you, but throw in NSMBU/Nintendo Land and this lineup looks really plausible to me!

We never did hear about NFS Most Wanted did we? Wasn't that one pretty much confirmed from leaks similar to how many leaks Blops II had?

I'm guessing there is going to have to be some more DD only games announced as well. What is there now, like 3? Trine 2, Toki tori, little inferno, ???.

Yeah I half expected Most Wanted to show up. F1 Allstars has been heavily rumored/unofficially confirmed as well.

With Japan, TGS is next week and just looking at the announcements so far, only Tecmo Koei really announced new software yesterday (obviously outside of Capcom with Monster Hunter).

Mpl90

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
In Japan, the next weeks can certainly have Wii U announcements for the launch window, considering how things work there and what ShockingAlberto actually said ( "parity+" ).

Surely Namco-Bandai, Square-Enix and Capcom all have other titles in the works for the WiiU. They're already deeply involved in high-profile partnerships with Nintendo (Super Smash Bros, DQX, MH3U) and it would be bizarre if they're not also planning to bring over their own big franchises (Tales, FF and RE in particular) sooner or later. But maybe they have nothing quite ready to show anything at the moment so they're holding off and/or plan to have their own announcement events.

Seeing as though the wiimotes and nunchuck are getting rebranded I'm hoping they will release more colours. I've already got the required amount but I wouldnt mind a lime green one or a yellow one. With matching nunchucks.
Any word?

So, I think I'm going to take the plunge with this even though I felt burned with the Wii (I actually bought two. One on launch, another about two years ago. I sold both shortly after purchase.) Maybe it's just that allure of something new.

I'm liking what I see from ZombiU regardless of its stupid name. I really hope it doesn't turn out the same way Red Steel did. I was so excited for that game (perhaps unjustifiably, though) and we all know how the first one turned out.

Does anyone plan on purchasing BLOPS2 for the WiiU who also owns a 360 or PS3? I would really like to know why you would. I'm not trying to ask in a condescending way. I just can't come up with a reason to deviate from the established communities. (On a side note: Either the presenter sucked at COD or it's difficult to control with the tablet controller)

I am not into CoD, but pointer controls should make such games better automatically. (Unless its devs that didn't learn to properly implement them yet)

Me. I have a 360. Don't give a shit about the community which mainly consists of racist 13 year olds.

The pointer controls are just better for first person shooters.

Does Nintendoland have online capabililities or is it only local-MP?

LJkg7.jpg

It has the Nintendo Network logo on it - you won't be able to play it online with friends, but the Miiverse stuff should be fully integrated + maybe some additional features like leaderboards and such.

Nibel strikes again. Thanks for the OP!

Summary: Very good job from Nintendo's teams. First, that's a good example of modern, worldwide communication with a tool that wasn't available a few years ago: video live streaming that handle more than 100k viewers. Ok two of them was pre-recorded but they managed to keep the megaton secret until the end (Bayoneta 2)!

Second, the Wii U offer, despite the haters, is not overpriced. The ps3 was 2 times that price 6 years ago, talk about overprice... The premium pack looks even a little sub-priced, I was fearing for a 400$ price when I saw it. Nevertheless, the announcement of 130,000 yens for the gamepad only is scary! They better use 3DS's for my Four Swords then!

And third, the launch line-up looks good. Of course, there are many multi platforms missing, but overall this will ends up to do the job. Japan gets DraQue (beta access) and MonHun. Killer names for the country. Mario sure doesn't sounds so shiny for educated gamers when it's 2D, but ultimately, 2D Marios are more appealing than 3D Mario, that's sales logic.
For the cost of Ubi leaks you get an exclusive Rayman, close to compete with Mario, Just Dance 4, one of the most selling third party games last gen (and so is CoD), another exclusive with ZombiU...
We could have hope more choice but that's a launch, I doubt many systems have ever done better, and in Nintendo's history, that's maybe the best line-up so far. And once again, I think we will be surprised by the true power of Mario. Don't think about NSMB2, that's NSMBU here, and it is the real NSM World you were waiting for!

Hasn't the CoD series been pretty good when it comes to pointer implementation?

FWIW, I've only played CoD 3 -- I didn't like the linear feel of it, so I didn't have the urge to jump in again -- but even at that early stage it only had a few control bugs (like infinite spin when you look up).

edit: I also played GoldenEye -- that was by the same team, yesno? -- and it felt pretty good, as well.

Wow, Nintendo sure had some terrible E3's to hype this thing, but this conference is looking great.

I'm going to wait a while to pick one up, but my hype level is definitely up.

Maturity, bitches.
Almost tempted to go to Eurogamer now, but then again the queues will probably be terrible. I image worse than the free OnLive console queue.

I really hope the downloaded-to-external-storage games can use common filesystems. If I have to wipe one of my existing drives and use MarioFS, then I will be pretty bummed on account of (A) not being able to use the same drive for other things, and (B) not being able to (edit: easily, off the bat) backup my games to separate media. These are the two reasons (and pretty much the only two reasons, save for slight uses of Wiivolution and the SSBB character changer) why I have so enjoyed having a modified Wii, and it would be a bummer to get any system that feels like a downgrade from this. :|

I think most people think CoD has pointer controls nailed (like most recent Wii FPSes) due to the amount of customization.

GoldenEye was developed by EuroCom, which is also putting out 007 Legends. Goldeneye had great controls, and a really awesome single player to me. Note that Treyarch did build the HD version of Quantum of Solace - not the Wii version by Beenox.

I can never get those sons of bitches right. Got sent a pair for my 3DS when I got it back from repair. Couldn't slap them on without air-bubbles. Raged and screwed (them up) then threw them away.

Same for me, no idea how to properly use them but you only got one try.

From what I understand that is significantly different from a regular GPU and enables it to perform tasks a normal GPU can not.

This is wrong. Normal GPUs have been capable of general purpose computing for a long time now. For example, the 360's GPU can do it too.
Also, the term GPGPU is not used to describe such GPUs (they are still just called GPUs), but the act of general purpose computing on GPUs. It should be changed in the original post.

I own both a 360 and PS3, but wasn't considering any version until I saw HDTV/Gamerpad two player modes with bots (eliminating splitscreen). Now I am seriously considering the WiiU version. I have a shitty satellite Internet connection where I live, so online play isn't currently an option. My brother and I love playing deathmatch modes with bots (especially with LAN play), and sadly many games this generation either didn't include bots, or splitscreen at all. So now to have the ability to play a great multiplayer game without splitscreen and right out of the box is just amazing (to me), and the thought of it becoming a standard for WiiU makes me giddy inside.

I own a 360, PS3 and capable PC, but if I cared about CoD, I would buy it on Wii U because of the Wiimote control and I expect the tablet to be used for that strategy mode. And Off-TV Play! (I wouldn't play multiplayer so that's no use to me, even locally)

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here´s some AC3 screens nonetheless.

Ubisoft and their Anti-Aliased bullshots ...

So Mass Effect 3 Special Edition comes with Extended Cut and From Ashes but no mention of Leviathan DLC. Hm, guess we'll have to buy that like everyone else.

I really wanna know if Batman packs all the DLC ... would be a major dick move if it didn't.

I'm going to get BLOPS2 for WiiU mainly for the prospect of 60fps Wiimote aiming with the tried and true Treyarch Wiimote customization features, all of my gaming buddies left the 360 a long time ago, and with Goldeneye I mostly switched to Wii for online shooters. I am addicted to the Wiimote controls. The feel and accuracy is just so much better than analog aiming.

As for Zombi U, the comparisons to Red Steel are very unwarranted as it has a much clearer direction and actually works like advertised unlike Red Steel which fell apart at the most basic level: It's controls.

Hmmm, might make it to my bedroom :D. Might even make it to the can, Although I'm guessing walls might interfere a bit. Impressive though!

Well it says optimal performance. It may still work a bit farther away.

I'm looking forward to the field reports! :)

Nibel, thank you for this. I have been in and out of here a lot during the past few days, and seeing it all is a bit.. overwhelming.

My hype has returned to and exceeded pre-E3 levels. This is going to be sweet.
