Wii U Speculation Thread 2: Can't take anymore of this!!!

Twin Snakes was also a rocket-kicking good time
The rocket-kicking was all Ryuhei Kitamura's idea (under the encouragement of Kojima to go "all out"), not SK's. When will you guys learn?

The game itself has a vastly improved way to
reshape the PAL card
.

Maybe Other M 2.

And The Baby is murdered.

Commencing ~5 hours of Samus moping around like an emo twat spouting THE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABYTHE BABY THE BABY THE BABY

Nah, Other M is pretty good, but Retro can do much better. I don't say that they have to do Prime 4, but they perfected the 3D Metroid formula like nobody else.

Reading the article, it's clear that Dyack is just tweaking our sanity levels so we'll think they aren't already practically done with the sequel.

So they're kinda similar to Rare in that when they're guided, they have potential?

Back then, Rare seemed like to be from another galaxy. SK did great jobs with Twin Snakes and Eternal Darkness, but I don't know if they can access this special potential all the time like Rare did.
But under Nintendo's guidance everything is possible. From turd to masterpiece.

Nintendo, hand over Eternal Darkness to Retro Stuidos instead but please make it happen.

I have zero faith in Retro do to anything good with this game outside of the visuals, but that is the exact same things I thought about Metroid Prime and DK. A bit of a lesser extent, but I was still dead wrong about both as they are awesome. Give it to them so I can eat crow again.

But it's funny. As soon as these 2nd party devs left Nintendo's guidance, it seemed like suddenly the quality of their output just started to drop like a brick.

Silicon Knights, RARE, and maybe even Factor5 with the whole LAIR debacle.

I was just trying to compile a list of all companies that had expressed an interest in the Wii U, but had no active projects announced. Here's what I came up with. Any additions/revisions will be appreciated:

Activision
EA
DICE
Crytek
Bioware
Bethesda
Epic
Irrational
Valve
id Software
Capcom

Any more?

The Nintendo Curse™ strikes again!

It would be fascinating to see if SK's output increases in quality if they go back to Nintendo.

Did the claim when it would be shown?
I don't understand French, but this is the article in question:

Nintendo a déjà dévoilé les détails de la Wii U, mais ce sont certains développeurs qui devraient en montrer un peu plus au cours des prochains jours, alors que le studio Epic Games prévoit faire une démonstration de la prochaine génération de sa technologie de jeu Unreal Engine 4 conçue pour cette nouvelle venue.

Well, maybe that was the case before the talent left Rare and Silicon Knights let people go in layoffs.

Ahhh yes, The Nintendo Curse™

How many devs have fallen to it? Left Field, H2O Entertainment, Rare, Silicon Knights, most of Marigul Management, ummmm.... who else?

Yup! It seems like they loose their soul or something once they leave Nintendo. I can't explain it :lol

"cette nouvelle venue." Next new venue? Next venue news?

My French is horrible.

"un peu" UN PEU? ET UN PEU? A LITTLE WHAT

"une démonstration de la prochaine génération de sa technologie de jeu Unreal Engine 4 conçue pour cette nouvelle venue." "Demonstration on next generation technologies of UE4 at the next new venue." E3? Again, my French sucks.

as resident evil 6 chronicles

So, from my shitty French, I'm guessing it said something about Nintendo revealing more details on Wii U, but *text omitted* and UE4 demo will be at next venue? (E3?)

OOH, MAYBE NEXT VENUE MEANS ON THE SHOWFLOOR, PEOPLE, GET READY TO BE VIGILANT FOR 90S SHAKY-PHONE CAMS

So here's the list as it stands now:

Activision
EA
DICE
Crytek
Bioware
Bethesda
Epic
Irrational
Valve
id Software
Capcom

One notable omission is Rockstar. I hope that changes soon...

"Nintendo did already unveil Wii U's details (I assume details means here "specs") but it is a handful developers that will show more of it in the upcoming days as Epic Games plans on showing off a demo of its next-gen piece of tech: the Unreal Engine 4, which is planned for this newcomer."
This doesn't mean anything, this is just poor wording from a 4th grade.
Talking about Microsoft, tweets blew out a tornado about the Xbox 3 as a developer wrote two days ago that the codename of Microsoft's upcoming console is "Durango". We are still waiting confirmation of the final name." Nothing new here.
"Beyond that information, we also know that the Xbox 3 will use a 3D technology called (!) Direct X 11 and that a fourth entry in the Fable series is in works".

GDC ends on Friday and some publishers, among others, will share more about their plans, We will know about more this topic during the next presentations".

I am not shitting you, these translations are legit. The "info" inside is vague at best or downright seems to be written by a monkey at worst ? Well, you are right : it is.

My school French tells me this:

- Media agency Clara is reporting that the Wii U is the central point of most conversations
- Despite Nintendo not saying anything, the article states that there could be developers who will tell interesting details about the console, such as Epic Games
- Rumor: Epic Games shows a UE4 demo on Wii U
- They might be able to talk about those other consoles, too
- There are also some hints about the next Xbox, such as using a technology called "3D DirectX 11"
- Fable 4 could be in development

"Nintendo did already unveil Wii U's details (I assume details means here "specs") but it is a handful developers that will show more of it in the upcoming days as Epic Games plans on showing off a demo of its next-gen piece of tech: the Unreal Engine 4, which is planned for this newcomer."

Unreal Engine 4 for the Wii U?
Did I get that right?

Yup, told ya my French sucked.

Cette nouvelle venue > newcomer
ne démonstration de la prochaine... > a demo of the new game techno UE 4 designed for this newcomer".

Guys, I think Ideaman already translated it...

What if we end up seeing a CryEngine powered Bird Demo and a UE4 Zelda demo?

Dayum.

looool am actually lol'ing at how bad my French is, I got a High Distinction for Buddha's sake

Yes, this is what I translated as well.
This is actually thread worthy.

Yes, this is huge. This not only allays any fears about the console's power and long term viability, it more or less confirms consistent third party support for the Wii U next gen!

Unreal Engine 4 for the Wii U?
Did I get that right?

The article doesn't really say that. First sentence about Wii U buzzing. Second sentence about Epic running an UE 4 demo. There's no direct relation, the article doesn't say "UE4 for Wii U", it just reports 2 things in the same parapgraph, which confuse everybody.

Edit : my bad, you are right guys. I'm French and I even can't correctly read it. The article clearly says "UE 4 designed for Wii U". Sorry.

Hmmm? But people above confirmed the translation...?

Unreal Engine 4 for Wii U? That can't be right... right?

Btw, I'm expecting Capcom support at launch with Super Street Fighter x Tekken and possibly RE 6.

Guys, that article is bullshit. It reeks and stinks amateurism and fake. C'est de la pure merde.

******

DON'T START A NEW THREAD ABOUT IT. THE ARTICLE DOESN'T MENTION SOURCES AND SEEMS TO BE WRITTEN BY A KID. I AM SAYING THAT AS A NATIVE FRENCH SPEAKER.

No sources?
So it's like the IGN of French articles :P

Hmmm? But people above confirmed the translation...?

Sorry again, post edited. The article clearly says "UE 4 designed for Wii U".

Also, I think Kenka is right. This article doesn't seem to be reliable. Wait for another source before opening a new thread.

UE 4 for Wii would be sweet though if
it becomes the de facto engine for next gen just like UE3 in this one.

But we can assume that the story is legit that:

1) WiiU will indeed pump out graphics superior to what we have now on the HD twins (there wasn't any doubt about it actually)
2) Third-parties will be enticed to work on it along with the 720/PS4, and up-port their PS3/X360 work on it.

In any case, UE4 on WiiU would dispel many doubts about the hardware capabilities.

Would be nice *sheds a tear*
