At this point, CoD coming to a home console is as much of a forgone conclusion as a Nintendo console getting a Mario platformer or an XBox getting Halo. As a result, this is nothing new.MDX said:WiiU

Well, we know for sure WiiU is coming out next year.
We dont know about the other two. And this mentions ONE console or platform, not multiple, so safe to assume whatever they are working on is for the WiiU.
If its for the next CoD.
And the WiiU launches around Fall, next year, it looks to have a large line-up of third party games, be they ports or otherwise. Nintendo better have their online service up to par, or better than the HD twins, to steal the show next Xmas. I think most will forgive straight ports, with no graphic enhancements for launch games, just to see how fun it will be to play with the tablet controller. But the tablet controller will not make up for a shoddy online experience.
That would be great for Nintendo, depending how their online service turns out. I'm sure tons of people will buy the WiiU just to play COD on the new console.MDX said:If its for the next CoD.
I'm not sure that Wii U will sell enough to get flooded with shovelware like Wii was.Smiles and Cries said:I think the WiiU will get a hell of a lot of 3rd party support the first year, but I'm afraid the WiiU will get so much shovelware that 3rd parties will start to complain when these shit don't sell like always![]()

Sadly, CoD is an online game, which means that the Wii U version will be inferior gameplay-wise. I don't see Nintendo truly ditching friend codes, and wild west won't cut it either.
Also, Wii U will probably launch in June or September, rather than the holidays.
I remember you from somewhere, but I just can't put my finger on it.Shanadeus said:I've been following this thread quite closely while away from the forums and I'm just stunned.

Zoramon089 said:People didn't realize that this was just a put together concept video?
MDX said:Was that stated during the presentation?
When you think about it, Nintendo really sent out all the wrong signals during E3.
Showing trailers of 360/PS3 games, underwhelming many.
Showing the controller with a white box, that looked very similar to the Wii, making many people think the controller was either the new console, or it was an add-on for the Wii.
Not showing any games in progress that would show off the power of the system. Just a few interactive concept videos.
What were they trying to sell during E3, 'mystery'?
I'm a Nintendo fan and probably typed a comment like that. The whole presentation was shittily put together, and it's not my fault for being cynical.ShockingAlberto said:I don't think it mattered if they showed 360/PS3 footage or WiiU footage. People were predisposed to think it looked like shit, anyway.
Thus all the "Looks worse than 360" comments. They were probably typed out before the reel began.

No, it's confirmed that Ubisoft won't use them. Until I hear from Nintendo, I'll remain a skeptic. Or, at least until I see evidence that Nintendo has realized the importance of an online community.AceBandage said:Friend codes are already confirmed to be gone...
And we have no idea if it'll be wild west, but so far nothing indicates it will be.

It seems to be a common theme here among some people to insult new members to the forum if they say something silly. If anything it proves your own immaturity and definitely doesn't foster a great community feeling.

SaintMadeOfPlaster said:You don't think that Nintendo has realized that yet? They gave their online to a 3rd party. Sounds like they realize they need help to me.
They didn't quite give it to a third-party. At best, it sounds like they're using feedback from other publishers. At worst, it's wild west. Wild west seems likely because it means that Nintendo can avoid liability if little Timmy gets molested while playing a friend code-less game on Wii U. (That's the only reason I can think of that Nintendo uses friend codes and requires both parties to enter the code. If they were that concerned for kids, they wouldn't put a web browser into their consoles.)SaintMadeOfPlaster said:You don't think that Nintendo has realized that yet? nickcv said:do we actually know something real about this?
did they actually say "we are not dealing with the online by ourself and we have outsourced all of it"?
Actually, we don't even know that much for sure. It's just a safe guess based on what happened at E3.bgassassin said:They didn't outsource it. What we do know is that EA has some people working with Nintendo in that specific area.
The Wii is dying and they needed to stay in the headlines? I think they also wanted to please investors but that backfired, right?adroit said:Nintendo wasn't ready to reveal the Wii U. If you have to promote your product with a sizzle reel captured from your competitors' products, you are seriously unprepared. It was a disaster. No, I'm not a troll. I own a DS Lite and a Wii. I'm just calling it the way I saw it. The presentation was embarrassingly awful. They should have waited until 2012. What was going through their minds?

Heck, it's not only just investors. GAF pretty much claims Nintendo was doomed in their eyes (as evidenced by the number of negative Nintendo threads during those weeks).AceBandage said:Yeah, but only because investors are fucking idiots. Doesn't matter how good a show Nintendo had, unless they announced a move into the mobile phone gaming scene, they were doomed in their eyes.
It was leaked, so they didn't have any choice. They had to say something whether they wanted to or not. Also, Nintendo never reveals a console just a few months prior to launch.adroit said:Nintendo wasn't ready to reveal the Wii U. Nevertheless, I'm really looking forward to the Wii U. I hope it will be a solid product when it is released. I'd like to have Nintendo console which doesn't look horrible on our HD TV.

Agreed. It really is dumb to see people "call out" others--it's like internet forum hazing or something. Lame.ecosse_011172 said:You think you're somehow superior to someone else because you've posted a bit more than them on an internet forum?

That bullshit is the shame of GAF, some people need to get a fucking life and some perspective.
So are you saying no one should be heckled for making terrible posts?CoffeeJanitor said:Agreed. It really is dumb to see people "call out" others--it's like internet forum hazing or something. Lame.
Of course they should be. It's just people saying "LOL, juniors!" that gets me. Every person on here was a junior at some point, and I'm pretty sure that breaking into the average member population didn't change their posting style at all.Instro said:So are you saying no one should be heckled for making terrible posts?

No but I think some poor posting habits are fixed during your time as a junior. It's not like people go out of their way to ignore posts from junior members, its just an easy and relatively inoffensive way to tell someone they fucked up. Compare that to how a regular member gets treated when they make an awful post, its hardly that bad.CoffeeJanitor said:Of course they should be. It's just people saying "LOL, juniors!" that gets me. Before its all over the wii u will get its own version of mario paint, flipnote studio, art academy, and probably some hd sequels to popular ds games like Brain Training, Nintendogs, and other touch based games. But now with this new interface won't some games be ridiculously similar to some 3ds games?Log4Girlz said:Stop arguing over the internets dammit.
Mario Paint would be amazing on this thing.
