They're making a lot of assumptions. Six core what? Two GPUs, really? What model / architecture forms the basis? We don't know enough to compare. If the RAM is true, I would think that would be good for Wii-U... but even then, we don't know how they're handling memory on each machine, unified / shared / dedicated, what memory access the GPU(s) have. Net processing grunt could be completely different.
If it launches in 2012 though that may have ramifications in terms of what's available from AMD and in terms of fabrication... these companies and plants have road maps, so you can make some inferences from the timing of the console. If they're bundling in a Kinect, then that would make things interesting.
Personally, I'd like to see the 360 successor and Wii-U in not too distant ballparks. I think it would do the industry good to have several platforms to play with, and I am not in any mood to buy more than one £300+ machine any time soon, so the cheaper to acquire more than one the better. They need to be 'powerful enough' not 'as powerful as possible' imo.
