Read his next post, he explains that by "sure" he was agreeing that it couldn't be less than 1gb.

Yeah, I didn't get an update in recent months. But that what it (supposedly) was in July.bgassassin said:^That according to your source wsippel? They've been keeping info from you lately.

And even when that was selling really well, it all dried up and went to mobile/handheld devices. There's really no way to predict what will happen.Willy105 said:The Wii got an avalanche of 3rd party support.
Just not the ones people wanted.
Shiggy said:Again, Wii?
Look at Lego, Sonic or Guitar Hero. Define "standard game".Luckyman said:Look for COD or Madden wii vs others version sales. For your standard game not worth it all. You need a huge game to make that downscale worth it and the original devs wont care to do it
Shanadeus said:Fixed.
And it is pretty much based on a hunch.
1.5GB feels right, so does the possibility that Nintendo might boost it up to 2GB in response to developer input and increased pressure from Ms.

Not initially it won't, 1st party incentives and developer ease of use will be the determining factors. If Wii U sales can't start pulling their own weight a couple years in, then support will decline. You're actually looking at this backwards.

According to that anology, only Wii (Gohan) and XboxNext (Vegeta) actually becom more powerful through anger. In the Buu Saga, surprisingly, Goku's anger never lead to a more powerful form considering he went Super Saiyan 3 just to stall time (yeah, considering what show this is...). Vegeta was pretty angry when Babidi gave him evil powers, and Gohan got pretty mad after Videl was crushed, acheiving Super Saiyan 2 for the first time in 7 years.PounchEnvy said:Which console do I need to piss off to increase its power level?
LegendofJoe said:Bleeding edge tech is Sony's differentiation factor, so I expect them to offer a more advanced console than the competition. It won't be $599 bleeding edge, but I'd be surprised if the Ps4's CPU and RAM pool aren't beefier than what MS is rumored to be bringing to the market.

According to my source, it was DDR3 back then. Also, the second generation devkits didn't seem to have any eDRAM whatsoever, so the E3 demos probably really weren't all that representative. The eDRAM should make quite a difference. Grain of salt, of course...Pocks said:Interesting. Any idea on the type of RAM?
Hopefully they've beefed it up a bit since then. I'd love to see 2GB of RAM in the final unit, and I'm sure devs would do. 1GB will still be a nice improvement over the 360/PS3 though.

Depends on whether wsippel was referring to gpu-local edram or cpu-local edram. Or both ; )StreetsAhead said:As in the demos look worse or better than actual games theoretically could (complete tech noob here).

The GPU will supposedly have more than 10MB eDRAM, and CPU-local eDRAM was seemingly confirmed by IBM.blu said:Depends on whether wsippel was referring to gpu-local edram or cpu-local edram. Or both ; )

It's the same way the Wii has caused people's previous memory to vanish, making Nintendo perpetually shit hardware.
Clean slate for next gen, until we hear otherwise. It's pretty much a given the Wii U will be the weakest one, but there isn't a single chance in hell the split will be as drastic it was this generation. Nowhere close.

Only watching the rumored "loop" specs are higher than Wii U (more cores, more ram, etc).
StevieP said:Wii U will be the weakest - there isn't a single doubt anywhere in this thread. Sony and MS, however, are not going to break the bank next gen like they did this gen. Unless people like Mike Capps and John Carmack are wrong and not in the know.

TheMagician said:My worries for Wii U
- Who is the target audience? Nintendo says they want the hardcore but they treat the hardcore badly by not giving them the games they want e.g. Xenoblade, The Last Story, Fatal Frame etc.
- No built in HDD. What about pre installs? What about large DLC? What about downloading large HD updates of classic games?
- More expensive to build a game from ground up than it was on Wii. Most devs might just port over 360/PS3 games with a touchscreen option.
- Doesn't work with 3-4 controllers (Wii thrived on social gaming)
Current design may change. Also, opinion.- Controller not aesthetically pleasing
- Casuals don't want to rush out and buy another console when their Wii with Wii Fit and Just Dance works just fine
- If a casual does want to buy an HD console, they can buy a 360 with Kinect for cheaper than Wii U
- Worst graphics. Why would the hardcore buy the Wii U when they can buy a console with better graphics, better online and more shooting games? Will the games look dated after a couple of years?
- The name. Wii U? Sounds like an update of the Wii. Kinda like DS > DSi
- The console. It looks near identical to the Wii. When I buy a new house, I don't want it to look exactly like my last one.
