Wii3: Apocalypse Redux

Shikamaru Ninja said:
Yeah, I think we will get Wii Play (with Wiimote) and Wario Ware: Smooth Moves mid December for Ninty's holiday games.

It may just be a case of Nintendo not want to overflood the launch line-up against UBI Soft who is pledging strong support.

Wii Play isn't bundled with controllers, a controller is bundled with Wii Play. It is going to be more expensive than just buying a remote by itself.
but isn't it 40 buck inJP

The announcements today far surpassed any horror I was prepared for.

America = £135 [19th November]
Australia = £160 [7th December]

...

UK = £180 [8th December]

What. The. Fuck.
What the fuck!?

just be glad we can get it this year, my arse is still bleeding from the previous nintendo delays...

I wonder if Media Markt/Saturn will do similar launch deals like with X360 (free Wireless Controller with the Premium X360) or PS3 (free game with the 599€ PS3).

Glad Nintendo pulled off the worldwide launch. Though the Euro price is crazy, at least they include tax with the final price over there, and um, they get a console. Component, and Wii Sports for $250 in U.S is a good deal to me, so nyah to the haters.

UK got raped.

What? No, I'm ****ing livid. To quote my post from another forum, "If you don't think that this is a bad price, you've got your head too far up Nintendo's arse to see when it's got its dick up yours."

It´s pretty reasonable, for european standards at least.

Of course, Europe gets it later and more expensive, but that is a common of European market. We have the most expensive market and the one that usually gets thing later. Three weeks is a better treatment that 4 months or almost one damned year (yes, I´m looking to you PS3 and PSP). The normall difference between the hardware japanese launch and the european one uses to be of months, and now we get Wii in weeks, is not a bad deal.

So, in general, ok news, nothing to cheer, but at least it has been more reasonable than other times.

I'm at work, and I just heard Nintendo on the news update of BBC Radio 1 (one of the world's most popular radio stations).

It was basically just saying that "Nintendo is planning to release their new console, 'Wii,' on December 8th. Pre-orders are to start this weekend, and it will retail at 179GBP."

Jesus, it's 12 quid! Remember the old days of dollar for pound?

If we'd joined the Euro you wouldn't be bursting a blood-vessel about it, but then again we'd have silly looking money ;)

I'd rather pay my 12 quid!

Nope, I agree with ya.

I'm not just fed up with the conversion but with the value of the system as a whole. What I mean is, I think we (US, JPN, and EU) are all paying too much for what we're getting. Eu are just paying that bit extra as per usual.

I think £150 would have been plenty. I'd have liked a couple of controllers, Wii Sports and a proper game bundled for the £179 price.

But it's launch. March price drop ftw.

Lets see.. Wii plus zelda (already preordered) 310 Euro, Wii play + extra wii-mote I'm guessing this package will sell for about 60 euro's , and another nunchuck for 20 euro's

that makes for 390 Euro's.

I paid 868 guilders (old Dutch currency) for gamecube + 3 controllers + 2 games + memorycard.
868 / 2.2 = ±394 euro's <- isn't correct. I just checked and found out that I payed 481 Euro's for the gamecube package so I'm paying 90 euro's less this time yay :D

I'm thinking of the collective European raping, ~£50.

Some of you people are ridiculous.

"A proper game" is a bit much, but a second controller would have been good. I can't see any of my friends coughing up £45 to play Wii Sports.

More like £35 with US sales tax, it's hardly the end of the world.

In the old days it would have been converted to £199-£250.

I'm new to PAL territories and I'm going to the US for xmas. Should I pick up a Wii there?

I don't know anything about compatibility (RGB, Scart cables vs. what you get in the US package; 50 and 60hz vs. NTSC tv) or exactly how region-free this thing is.

Anyone have adivce for me?

Wii + Wii Sports @ Launch, 250
Zelda TP, 50/60
Extra Wii remote, 40

Waggling the Master Sword in your living room pretending you are Link during holiday season
+ Kicking your <insert family member>'s butt at Wii Tennis or Golf...
350/360

**** you Nintendo. But yeah, we have a deal.

Any idea what quarter some of those 2007 titles are slated?

In the old days, white people would sometimes physically attack black people for being black. So I guess if it's just verbal abuse, it's hardly the end of the world.

Running a Zelda site? Could I have a look?

But if that's the case, then I suppose it's entirely justified. I'd still recommend waiting for your own release date, wherever you are, though.

Yeah, I'll PM a link because of the whole site-whoring thing.

Is there any information on what outputs the EU A/V cable will have? (Haven´t read through the whole thread) Is it the same combo cable as in the US pack? Need confirmation, with source, PLEASE! :D

Wii Cooking (EAD Development Group No. 1)

i personally feel £180 is a bargain. i have preordered with play.com already.

in a few months it will drop to 150 or less but i cannot wait that long. if you dont like the price wait a bit and im sure it will come close to the price you prefer.

There is an interview where you can find that Wii Cooking existed. Straight from the producers mouth who showed you the teaser as well last TGS during the Wii video that also showed Wii Sports and Wii Music for the first time.
