Gotta say that now until the deal is approved by the regulators.
More than
all another question is what will Apple do?
Thats signifikant change of power structure in the gaming Industry.
Only Tecent, Sony is bigger than
Microsofts Xbox Game Studios.
I do hope the pressure of this news pushes Sony to put out some quality multiplayer games. Last gen was all about single player, this gen it seems like it'll be SP and MP at least according to what's in development at the moment.Let me just say Call of duty is the biggest multiplayer franchise on PlayStation. I’d they remove it from PlayStation, ps plus subs will rank, ps 3rd party sales will tank (no COD) , and generally the whole brand will be impacted. They need to respond hard, they don’t have a COD.
holy exaggeration batmanXBOX brand got bigger than PS already after Beth aquisition. After this deal they put playstation in some remotes back alley's trashcan.
the question is what's the point on xbox hardwaree right now, all their exclusives also come to pc
it's clear the ms is putting all its eggs in the "netflix of videogames" basket
I don't think it's a problem to them, Activision had like 5 games out on the switch, and none was Call of Duty to start with (Tony Hawk, Crash Bandicoot and Skylanders?)I wonder what Nintendo is doing right now.
Probably their net is slow and haven't got the news yet.
Historically, that happens when new subscribers slow down but they want to keep gains. (it's what's happening with Netflix now)(...) Nothing stops them from changing the Gamepass model to something less consumer-friendly (huge raise on subscription prices or multiple premium tiers) and there will hardly be anyone to stop that.
Enjoy cross platform bans on Call of Duty Warzone and Overwatch.
Probably while the language has been not to take away from the communities of those games on Sony’s platform. Which imo could mean war zone stays the way it is on PS but the new COD games will be xbox/pc/gamepass.I like to see Microsoft expanding their gaming portfolio, but won't this acquisition be considered a violation of antitrust laws with Microsoft being seen as trying to create a monopoly in an attempt to lead to the collapse of a rival, in this particular case Sony?
Anyway, I'll be enjoying Gamepass but this certainly raises a few eyebrows if one day Microsoft becomes a behemoth of the whole industry by only buying its competition. Nothing stops them from changing the Gamepass model to something less consumer-friendly (huge raise on subscription prices or multiple premium tiers) and there will hardly be anyone to stop that.
I feel for you bud, I don’t see it at all. Skyrim sold over 30m copies and MS are keeping it for Xbox and PC only. There’s no chance of the annual CoD’s coming to PS when Xbox have already proved the can leverage a huge user base through Xbox and Steam.Any I would care about (single player) will be Xbox exclusives. Call of Duty will likely be treated as Minecraft is now.
Warzone will certainly stay. Now for future singleplayer titles, I hardly believe there is any reason for Microsoft to keep it on Playstation even if they get a few million copies in losses on that platform. They'll make up for that with the Gamepass subscriptions.Probably while the language has been not to take away from the communities of those games on Sony’s platform. Which imo could mean war zone stays the way it is on PS but the new COD games will be xbox/pc/gamepass.
Now all MS needs is Madden and in the US at least it's game over. The only game I see staying is Warzone. Everything else going forward, exclusives.
Once the deal is done next year & COD is exclusive, casuals are going to flock to the MS ecosystem.
And rest of the world they would just need FIFA. (and FIFA on gamepass could suffice)Now all MS needs is Madden and in the US at least it's game over.
Why do you feel bad for me? First, I own every Xbox released including a Series X and GamePass. Second, I've never played a Call of Duty game in my life.I feel for you bud, I don’t see it at all. Just because you don’t seem to be comprehending what MS are doing even after Bathesda. Why do you feel bad for me? First, I own every Xbox released including a Series X and GamePass. Second, I've never played a Call of Duty game in my life.
As I said, any game from Activision that I'd want to play is likely to be an Xbox exclusive. I just don't think CoD will be, but I could care less as I don't play CoD anyways.
Elder Scrolls is not the same type of game as Call of Duty. CoD is much more akin to Minecraft than anything "Bathesda" has released.Just because you don’t seem to be comprehending what MS are doing even after Bathesda.
Could be. You never know. They'll release their games on PlayStation IF Sony allows a GamePass client on the PlayStation store. Otherwise all games will be exclusively on Xbox consoles, PC, and cloud.
Lol they can keep it all.

lol no. And in any case we have an example Bethesda that was just 7.5b acquisition made their new games exclusive. Activision was 68.6b and you can be sure there will be exclusives here too. And in any case, players of a platform (playstation) that has always shown rivalry against Microsoft will be treated as second class citizens. If you are interested in COD and all other Activision games as well as Bethesda games, the platform to be on will be Microsoft (be it PC or console). period. Microsoft makes these acquisitions to move players to its platform, not to develop games for others.Any I would care about (single player) will be Xbox exclusives. Call of Duty will likely be treated as Minecraft is now.

I've bought a few Call of Duty games in the past that is it. Genuinely no interest in any of there currant games at the moment, of course that could change. When Microsoft bought out Bethesda that pissed me off because I want Starfield. Here we go, bring on the "Activision sucks" comments from people who liked their games before on other platforms....... super lame.
know nothing about us law, but what the regulators should regulate exactly? And rest of the world they would just need FIFA. (and FIFA on gamepass could suffice)
Anyway:
Microsoft Is About to Get a Close Look From Regulators. Its Free Pass Is Over.
Multiple articles on the internet citing that it's a power play and we'll see what happens.
you don't need one on par with series x, just one that can run those gamesIts not cheap building a Series X equivalent PC.
Yeah the "Activision sucks" comments just started today. Everyone loved them yesterday. People were wanting Bobby Kotick to run for President of the United States. Here we go, bring on the "Activision sucks" comments from people who liked their games before on other platforms....... super lame.
3) MS continues releasing games on PS, some of them after a timed exclusive, but some of them keep full Xbox console exclusive. Sony dominates Gamepass with Spartacus, and obviously doesn't allow Gamepass being released or marketed on PS. Sony spends their marketing and exclusive deals with other big publishers instead of in Zenimax or Activision. Two possibilities were it to happen:
(1) Sony allows for MS to distribute on their platform but at traditional retail amounts. MS gets the revenue from interested players and can begin making the sales pitch to players that they can have it all for way less on an Xbox device.
(2) Sony allows MS to offer a limited version of GamePass on Sony platforms. What they will not allow, however, is for third parties to bypass licensing and will require them to participate with a Sony equivalent if they want exposure to PS players.
I’d love to know what products you think they’ve dished out over the last few years you would consider quality……Here we go, bring on the "Activision sucks" comments from people who liked their games before on other platforms....... super lame.
Minecraft is still multiplat, I can easily see CoD and Diablo go everywhere. But I think it all depends on what competitors are doing, MS could use exclusivity scenarios as threats to get what they want - to have Gamepass everywhere.I think they will honour existing deals but after they have timed out it will be exclusive

You never know. Maybe MS does the Sony PC port strategy.Minecraft is still multiplat, I can easily see CoD and Diablo go everywhere. But I think it all depends on what competitors are doing, MS could use exclusivity scenarios as threats to get what they want - to have Gamepass everywhere.
