Yea a port is almost guaranteed considering Nintendo ported most of the good games from the WiiU already, but emulator is currently the best way to play it, probably even after a Switch version releases.

gotta vouch for the PC emulated version if you are able to play it, runs solid 60fps on my RX590.

a switch port will hopefully fix the ugly ass faces tho

It will be ported for sure, hope they make it a soft remaster like XC and fix the faces because I do not want to see potato-kun in the Switch version.

Also note that while the game has amazing exploration and progression the story is a bit sub-par compared to other episodes.

No. Star Fox Zero, Splatoon, Mario Maker, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Yoshi's Woolly World and probably others have not come to Switch.

In a new interview with Tetsuya Takahashi of Monolith Soft, he explains that porting the Wii U game Xenoblade Chronicles X to the Switch would be rather difficult.

The reason behind this is that Xenoblade Chronicles X was a massive game, so recreating it on the Switch would take a lot of resources, which means money.

Considering that the game didn't exactly sell that great on the Wii U, it would be understandable if Nintendo didn't decide to port the game to the Switch.

I'd love to be wrong about a switch port but making/porting games is a business, not a charity.

Read between the lines. Neither Takahashi nor Nintendo want to port Xenoblade X. It was an experiment that didn't pan out. Thankfully Elma the best thing about X made it into XB2. The best Xenoblade until 3 proves otherwise.

I think they will reserve it for the Switch 2, there is no point porting this game now when Monolith are super busy with Xenoblade sequels, remasters and helping out with Zelda.

X was slightly divisive, and engine was very demanding for Wii U, Switch undocked mode would suck right now its not a priority

Yeah, its the last big Wii U game left to port.

I imagine that Nintendo prefers focusing over the main series for now, but it will eventually be ported, for sure.

There is actually a good chance this is the case. I can totally see a Remake in the veins of Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition being made to launch on the first year of the Switch 2.

Same same. I still keep mine plugged in even though I often play the games on my PC in Cemu. Most of them even run at 8k60 without problem but it's just not the same thing.

It will be a cold day in hell that I get rid of my Wii U. It's by far my favorite Nintendo console because it's just so damn versatile.
