Why the hell did it take so long to confirm this?
The HD7 has a MicroSD slot.

http://portal.itproportal.com/porta...usive-dell-venue-pro-contract-start-35-month/Our interlocutor said that the phone will be sold by T-Mobile and Orange; this makes sense given that Dell already has an ongoing agreement with T-Mobile in the US and Orange and the latter are now a single entity, Everything Everywhere.
He also added that stocks of the Dell Venue Pro should be plentiful towards the end of the month for those who will have preordered. More importantly, he has confirmed that the phone will be available for roughly the same price as the HTC high end Windows Phone 7 handset, the HD7.
The latter currently sells for £35 per month on O2, which is the same as the Dell Streak, and not surprisingly, it comes with the same package; 600 minutes, unlimited text and 500MB mobile data.

Another day another game I want ported to the Windows Phone 7, this time it's an Indie game.
Number 9: Switchball

Basically, WTF is it?
You're a marble and you got to roll to the end of each level. The marble gains different power ups that help for certain situations, but they also have their drawbacks. For example the metal ball can push heavy obstacles but gets stuck to magnets. This also gets hard.
Why do I want it?
I can imagine loving this with the tilting controls. Will surely get the brain awake and alert during the morning commute waking me for the rest of the day.
How could it be shit?
This game was fucking hard, borderline frustrating. With a less presice control method this could exacerbate this feeling. Just add in a rewind function we'll be good to go.
Watch the trailer and see why I want it.
What XBLA games would you like to be ported to the Windows Phone 7 platform? Drop us a comment.
Holy shit, how much does the cover look like something from a boxed Amiga game? All it needs is the US GOLD or Ocean logo :lolbesiktas1 said:Number 9 in the Top 10: XBLA & IG games I want on wp7 I'm currently doing.

Scherotter said while a few major apps will be able to multitask, such as Pandora, the music streaming app that will play in the background while the user is doing something else, independent apps will not, for now. Scherotter said that eventually, independent apps will be multitask-capable, but he wouldn't say when that would be.
PG2G said:Pandora app may be multitasking, apparently. I'm glad to know that, even if its not available to everyone yet, that the major apps can get access.

Has anyone heard anything about instant messaging apps? Would be nice to know that meebo or one of the other major multi-network apps were in the works
I thought Flash was coming per some Adobe article recently.thirty said:i knew pandora would be one of the first 3rd party multi-tasking apps. microsoft wouldn't have spoken specifically about pandora and multi-tasking in the same sentence unless they knew it was going to happen sooner than later.
if microsoft can get a multi-tasking pandora and turn by turn into bing maps by year's end i'll be one happy camper.
i aint holding my breath for adobe to build flash into the browser anytime soon though.
adobe has got to be one of the laziest companies in the world, do not trust them one bit. i'll honestly be surprised if we get flash before march. google may even switch youtube's format by then.dallow_bg said:I thought Flash was coming per some Adobe article recently.
well youtube works fine. Just have to install a plugin from the app store. You can click on any youtube video in the browser and it plays in a dedicated player.thirty said:adobe has got to be one of the laziest companies in the world, do not trust them one bit. i'll honestly be surprised if we get flash before march. google may even switch youtube's format by then.
yes but you still can't play all the videos, only the videos available to play for mobile. to play all videos, you'll need a browser with flash.Windu said:well youtube works fine. Excellent. I emailed them asking when it was coming and got the usual "no comment". Glad it's arriving, the 3.5" iPhone is just a tad too small for "emergency" reading. My Kindle is perfect for when I've got the luxury of relaxing but for getting a quick chapter in the 4.1" Venue Pro should be sweet.brotkasten said:The Amazon Kindle app for Windows Phone 7 comes with a built in kindle store and book recommendations.

Just fiddled with the Dell Venue Pro #wp7,pretty heavy too. Not as bad as the LG Optimus 7Q but still quite bulky.

Windows Phone 7 devices share the same fate as the iPhone. They're not announced for Verizon.HenryGale said:So I've got a question, I'll fill you in first.
Members of my friends family have been coming to me for tech questions ect. Assuming there is no iphone in the future for Verizon I have been actually telling them to hold out and get a windows phone 7. it looks like its going to be a much nicer experience then android and I really like the UI.
What is the best one to get currently on Verizon? Are there rumors or rumblings of any definitive hardware coming in the next few months. I'm thinking holding out on this OS for the first 6 months is going the be the best decision, unless there is already a really good choice in terms of handset.

CDMA phones are announced for Q1 2011, but so far it's only the HTC 7 Pro for Sprint.

It likely will be on Verizon. It's only not on there because Verizon is a CDMA network. When it comes to needing to launch and things to cut, you go for supporting the 80% rather than the 20%. Especially when CDMA has no future afaik. Microsoft looks like they'll be supporting all networks, but it's not an "exclusivity" deal.HenryGale said:Damn, thats low. I hope eventually all this carrier BS is done with. If theres a sweet phone anyone should be able to get it. One day.. maybe.
Depends on the frequency used. The Dell Venue Pro and Omnia 7 won't work unlocked over 3G unfortunately.cartoon_soldier said:For the GSM phones, would it possible that the non AT&T phones would work on AT&T unlocked?

Yeah just buy an unlocked one from the US rather than Europe. It looks like I'll be skipping the first wave of WP7 phones myself.tissot said:Phewwww you had me there or a sec.
Venue + $35 unlimited Moblicity = awesome
There are already roughly 12,000 developers registered with the Windows Phone Marketplace (go to http://create.msdn.com if you are not one of them), a near 40% increase over last month alone. All those apps & games currently in the marketplace are by developers who requested early certification. We also just announced that on November 3rd we are enabling the self serve capabilities of Marketplace for developers. That should give most developers the opportunity to place their app in Marketplace in time for our US launch.
Top 10: XBLA & IG games I want on wp7
Another day another game I want ported to the Windows Phone 7, this time it's a marble game.
Number 8: Braid

Basically, WTF is it?
A puzzle platformer. You manipulate time to get through the level.
Why do I want it?
It's an amazing game. When you "get" the mechanics of the world (stage) and everything clicks you pass each puzzle it's a really satisfying feeling.
How could it be shit?
Unless you're "over" Braid, I can't really think of a way they can fuck it up really.
Watch the trailer and see why I want it.
