Engadget: HTC 7 Trohpy reviewHTC's Trophy is not the best smartphone on the market. It's not even the best Windows Phone 7 phone. To make matters worse, you'll often find the Trophy sitting side-by-side with the equivalently priced LG Optimus 7 when shopping for a new WP7 handset in Europe -- both are 49.90 on contract with Vodafone in Germany or free in the UK with monthly plans starting at £25 (our review unit is sold by Coolblue in The Netherlands for $499). And honestly, given our choice, we'd opt for the Optimus 7 given that it matches the Trophy spec-for-spec yet includes a better exclusive software suite, a beefier 1,500mAh battery, and double the internal storage at 16GB. Yet even with middling hardware and a brand new version 1.0 Microsoft OS that is clearly lacking the maturity of iOS or Android, it's simply hard to resist this sleek little lightweight gem of a handset running a very promising -- and dare we say fun -- take on the mobile OS experience. Try as we might, we can't put it down even though we have an iPhone 4 and Galaxy S at our immediate disposal. The HTC Trophy may not be our smartphone champ but it's definitely a winner.
7/10
The good:
Good all-around performer
Excellent build quality
WP7 OS handles the basics with style
The bad:
720p video not default
Average camera is poor in low light
WP7 OS still immature
There are some definitive advantages when youre a company with as much cash on hand as Microsoft. One of those advantages is that you can afford to give away 89,000 of your brand new Windows Phone 7 handsets to your employees. Combine that with the 1,000 that were given away yesterday at the PDC and thats a hefty chunk of change for 90,000 phones.
According to NetworkWorld, Guy Gilbert and Paul Bryan from Microsoft werent shy in admitting the issues that earlier versions of the Windows Mobile OS had. But as weve stated here before, Phone 7 appears to not only be a competitor, but also will likely be a force to be reckoned with by both Google and Apple in the mobile market.

thirty said:got my new live id ready. took some time to figure things out as i already had a live id for zune and xbox but not a live email. i wanted skydrive and mesh functions so i had to create a live email, then go into my xbox and change my live id. once i did that, my zune account updated and my spacebucks transfered to my new live id. yay!!!
According to Paul Thurrott on this weeks Windows Weekly, MS only added microsd because samsung, lg, htc etc... requested it and MS won't recommend certain speeds of microsd cards because in their testing cards from even the same manufacturer rated at the same class do not perform the same causing hangs and all sorts of problems.venne said:I'd be curious to learn if a higher class card makes the phone run better.
it's user error. log in through your xbox with your existing account then it will ask for the new one. i had the same issue. xbox.com and zune.net will change automatically once you do this.besiktas1 said:When I try to switch Xbox Id I get an error messageAny ideas what' wrong?
e: Also is there a way to change associated id on xbox.com
"Works" and works are different concepts. Yeah, it'll "work" in that the phone will boot up and things will run.tissot said:Class 2 32GB works on the HD7.

Changed the maximum size from 400 to 225 MB.
Updated section with a description of the advantages and challenges of running an application under a locked screen. Separated guidance for audio and/or video applications, and all other applications. Added requirements for minimum battery life and idle behavior while the application is running under a locked screen.
Removed the requirement 6.3.1 Configurable Functionality (you no longer have to ask users to opt in to allowing the app to run under lock as long as you meet the battery life requirements above).
6.7. Photo Sharing Applications - This is a new requirement

Basically, WTF is it?
It a re-imagining of the classic game. This time players are bound to a time limit where you have to get as many points as possible. As you get better and score more points the game speeds up.
Why do I want it?
It's the classic only better. Really addictive and competing with your friends for high scores could see me playing this game during my breaks.
How could it be shit?
It can't really be shit, but a new version is coming out so maybe a port of the new one would be cool too.
Watch the trailer and see why I want it.
If I only I could find that picture of the huge ghost crashing into the table... :lol Looks fun.besiktas1 said:
