of course but it goes to zero and they are still pretty loud on speaker

edit: of course I would rather have this problem than the opposite

I think one of the most welcome changes in Mango is implied by the podcast downloads over-the-air page. If that works the way I think it works in those pictures, your podcast subscriptions are tied to your phone, and carry over from the Zune software.

This is a HUGE improvement to the way the iPhone and iPod Touch work today, where you can only manage podcast subscriptions from iTunes. You can download podcast episodes over the air, of course, but there's no concept at all of podcast subscription when you're just on the phone.

Has anyone here experience with the Kindle app?
How can I sync books on my PC to the phone? I´m using Calibre, and can´t find a way to get this to work.

So for example veetle; tvcatchup and those streaming tv shows online websites should work? pleasesayyes pleasesayyes....
Do they work on iOS devices?

e: Tested Veetle on my iPad. It uses the HTML5 video tag, so it should work on IE9 Mobile as well.

Veetle does live streaming, so they use HTTP Live Streaming. HTML5 video is for stored content.

I checked one of their streams with the iPad user agent and they're serving up an m3u stream:

So I'm stuck with an Update notification for Shazam and it looks like Shazam was removed from the market. I wonder what gives?

Shazam usually has two apps, Shazam (free, 5 tags per month) and Shazam Encore ($5.99, unlimited tagging). The free version for WP7 was basically Encore, but now they want you to pay for it.

Just did a search and Shazam Encore is not in the market nor is the regular version of Shazam. So either Microsoft gave their app the boot or Shazam pulled it from the marketplace. Weird.

Well, we have a GiantBomb App now. That's enough... for now. :p

The giant bomb app is very good.... really happy to have a good gaming app on the phone now. Even their videos load and work well.

Speaking of that does anybody else have issues streaming zunepass music over the at&t 3g network? For some reason it takes 30 secs to start playing and then will rebuffer every 30 secs. I initially thought it was at&t's 3g network but through giantbomb I was on the 3g network and am able to play their videos smoothly (and they are 25 min videos.... far more than just streaming audio).

Yeah, I normally just go ahead and download whatever I'm interested in, instead of streaming it.

The Verizon Trophy shows up in Costoc's inventory system. $149.99 with contract + car charger and leather case, "Last Sales Date 05/18/11", still no announcement from Verizon. What a joke.

Plenty of people are uber-excited about the highly anticipated Verizon HTC Trophy Windows Phone which just wouldn't show up even though press renders surfaced and dummy units already hit retailers like Best Buy. We don't have a release date yet but thanks to the image above, snapped of the Costco Warehouse inventory system, we now have a price.

The Verizon HTC Trophy -- first Windows Phone with the carrier -- will go for $149.99 and dummy units have already reached the retailer. For the price, you will also receive a leather case and a car charger. The smartphone is already listed on Verizon's website wearing a "Coming Soon" label and Best Buy will sell it for $600 without contract, according to its website. The Costco price of $149.99 plus the leather case and car charger will most definitely imply a two-year contract.

Maybe next time I should wait few minutes before I bitch ...

BASKING RIDGE, N.J. – HTC Trophy™ is the first Windows Phone 7 device to come to Verizon Wireless, bringing a new dimension of gaming and entertainment to the nation’s most reliable 3G network.

Windows Phone is the only phone that lets you play games with Xbox LIVE. Customers can sync directly with Xbox LIVE mobile to access their avatar, profile and gamer score to keep track of their wins. HTC Trophy also allows consumers to play by themselves or challenge friends in turn-based games. In addition to the many mobile gaming features, customers who buy an HTC Trophy before July 15 get a free Xbox 360 console game. Game enthusiasts can choose from Halo: Reach, Kinect Sports and Lode Runner – up to $60 value.

blah blah blah

Pricing and availability:
  • HTC Trophy will be available online at www.verizonwireless.com on May 26, and in Verizon Wireless Communication Stores on June 2 for $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. Customers will receive the rebate in the form of a debit card; upon receipt, customers may use the card as cash anywhere debit cards are accepted.
  • HTC Trophy customers will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan and a smartphone data package. Nationwide Talk plans begin at $39.99 for monthly access and an unlimited smartphone data plan is $29.99 for monthly access.

The same shit Shazam do.

Except we need to wait for Mango for it.

Oh wow. I bet Shazam isn't happy about that. A free, platform provided thing like that will surely kill Shazam on WPs.

Excellent that Verizon is finally getting a WP7 device. Hopefully they get the hardware refresh that happens later this year. I am going to wait for those before I jump in.

They should have just gave the Encore or original version to early WP7 adopters ...

And here's the announcement on the Windows Team Blog.

At least the Trophy comes with 16GB storage.

Bing Audio is still a rumor at this point, but if it's true then they're probably not happy about it, no. Shazam Encore still has some cool features like showing lyrics for the tagged music or linking to the YouTube video. I don't think it's worth 5.99, but still cool.

Here's the feature list:
Upgrade your music journey with Encore:
  • Unlimited tagging, so don’t miss a music moment – tag as often as you like
  • Identify what song is playing and buy the track direct on Zune Marketplace
  • Get Music Recommendations to discover similar music
  • View lyrics and sing along to tagged tracks
  • Read album reviews, artist biographies and discographies
  • Watch YouTube videos for tagged artists from within the App

That's what they did. It was just a promo for the new platform. I think they did the same thing on Android.

With the phased roll out of the new X360 dashboard update, Microsoft just killed my hopes for a quicker Mango release.
"We are rolling out the Xbox 360 System Update gradually to all Xbox LIVE users starting today and throughout the next couple weeks"

It (shazam) keep crashing after the update and then it disappear from my home screen. I just found it in my game hub. ><

I am not sure what's going on with it. (It's also no longer on Marketplace).

You really think they would change the way update happen on WP7?

Though I am surprise with Xbox update, didn't we used to get update all at once. I wonder what prompt this gradual roll out. This is not the one with disc update (I don't think) so I can't see the problem that it could cause.

Nvm, just read the update note and it also include security update. They probably want to make sure it doesn't mass brick console.

The latest Xbox 360 update contains a DVD firmware revision, so that the DVD drives can read the new security sector that allows devs to use 1GB more space.

So in addition to a new dashboard kernel, there's a DVD flashing process as well.

By rolling out in sections, MS knows what serial # range would be affected should a problem arise, which would probably be a brand new Xbox 360 console should one occur.

if you downloaded shazam when it was free, you retain full usage as if it were encore.

so if you uninstall it, you lose that privilege I'd imagine.

I still have my free version and it has no limitations... last update though booted it into the Games hub by mistake so maybe they are fixing that?

So i'm pretty stoked that the Trophy is finally announced but I have somewhat of a dilemma. I am leaving out of town on the 27 for the summer, and would have liked to have gotten this phone before I leave to give my current phone to a friend of mine. After reading the pr, it seems that the phone wont really be available until June 2nd in stores but at vzw.com on the 26. What's the likelihood of the phone being available that day in other stores like Bestbuy or Costco?

Yeah, I just notice that it went to the game hub. I thought it is kinda strange that thing can get move from your home screen without you doing it. When it launch from my home screen after the update, it just keeps crashing on launch.

Yeah, you can still use the free version, but the marketplace will always show you that an update is available and that kinda bugs me. I'll delete it when Mango hits.

weird, my marketplace does not show that

edit:

anyone else have the volume rocker at 0 and still have pretty substantial voice volume? I had read of some people having it show up after they made some *Diagnosis* change

Mine does not do that, but the only changes I have made in the Diagnosis app were for HSUPA and Dual-Mode Improvement.

He accepted the last update which placed his Shazam in the XBL section. Me and you didn't so that's why it's still showing an update (even though it's not in the marketplace anymore).

On another note I lucked out and got a free year and a half of the Zune pass subscription from work. Pretty cool to be able to listen and download as much music as I want.
