NotTarts said:So I just discovered Windows Phone 7 doesn't support multiple calandars unless you use separate email accounts. What the heck. I'm guessing this is another feature Mango is adding?
Completely forgot to update ><brotkasten said:Microsoft is Facebook's BFF, Google+ is a direct competitor to Facebook (and Twitter). As long as they don't have to support it, because it G+ suddenly got big over night, they won't. And the way Google keeps ignoring Windows Phone, I doubt we'll see an official app soon. Heck, we don't even have an official Google Maps app.
Are you using Mango?
I got the demo and then played a couple levels then bought the game. No one is on my leaderboards though and I have, like, 10 friends from this thread alone so it appears no one else thought it was good.SeanR1221 said:Anyone try Tentacles?

Are you a student? Try to get a Dreamspark account and you'll get one year for free.Teetris said:I can't seem to get past the registration process on apphub right now, but do you immediately need to pay the 100 bucks to submit an app (ad supported free game) to the store? I only have paypal atm and no CC
Thanks. Not a student anymore no. I don't mind paying if there's a paypal option (everytime I get to the payment part it crashes for some reason so can't see it) but cc will be a problemHypertrooper said:Are you a student? Try to get a Dreamspark account and you'll get one year for free.
Of course not. They have an event in October, where they announce new devices. You don't do that on an investors call. I wish people would ignore Eldar.JaggedSac said:So Nokia didn't formally announce their phone yesterday?
The Sea Ray is 3.9", I think.Tapiozona said:Some ugly phones in that list. The Searay would be the most amazing phone by a longshot if it had a 4 inch + screen. Once you go big you can't go back to dinky Iphone sized screens anymore.
Looks like it's samsung's phone for me which is no slouch in the looks department but it doesn't hold a candle to Nokia.
A front facing camera is optional, not a requirement, iirc.VanMardigan said:The LG and HTC leaked/unannounced phones don't seem to have front facing cameras. What's up with that?

The lack of a FFC in the renders doesn't have to mean much. PowerNow.com leaked LG's remaining smartphone line-up for this year and only one of the phones has a front facing cameras, according to the renders, but when you look at the new LG Prada and read the description:VanMardigan said:You recall correctly. My comment was more wondering why manufacturers would choose to exclude the feature when it's pretty prevalent in Android phones and most consumers will be looking for that, even if they will never use it.
http://pocketnow.com/smartphone-news/lgs-remaining-2011-smartphones-revealed-imagesThis dual-core model looks to be the second-half flagship, highlighted by its brighter 4.3-inch NOVA LCD and 8.8-millimeter thickness. On-board are dual cameras: 1.3-megapixel front and eight-megapixel rear, with 16GB of internal storage. Running Android 2.3 Gingerbread and offering 21Mbps HSPA+ cellular data, K2 is also said to feature a Prada-inspired texture on the casing. A Holiday release is expected.
I've bought it now, so that's one person on your friend's list who hast it. ;-)kazinova said:I got the demo and then played a couple levels then bought the game. No one is on my leaderboards though and I have, like, 10 friends from this thread alone so it appears no one else thought it was good.
It's a fairly straightforward platformer with a very strange control scheme. It works out pretty well in the end and I like the control scheme (touch the place for the next tentacle) for this format. I'm tired of games that have virtual d-pads or buttons; Tentacles is a great break from this and it sports a fantastic art style to boot!

The Mazaa is just a Trophy with Mango specs. A test device, if you like.claviertekky said:Any new WP7 phones for Sprint?
Reportedly months ago, there was something about the HTC Mazaa sporting a 12 MP camera.
Whatever happened to that?

which is the smallest one?

I'm buying that then.VanMardigan said:The Kin

I'd rather have something the size of a Zune HD, but I doubt anyone will ever make one.

what makes the bigger screens better when all the WP devices have the same resolution? You're still getting the same amou t of information on the smaller screen.VanMardigan said:What's the use case for those of you who want a really small smartphone? The main things I do on my Focus are web browsing, gaming, pictures, video, and podcasts. For most of what I do, a bigger screen is better, so long as its still "pocketable" and doesn't feel awkward or heavy to hold. And 4.3-4.5 still meets those criteria for me. I don't see the appeal of having a smaller phone.

maybe that's a better view for pictures and video (which admittedly you said was your priority) but it's not really a better view for text and web pages which would appear sharper n the smaller screen with a higher pixel density. The Metro UI is a text heavy UI and I think it'd be great too on a small screenVanMardigan said:A bigger screen, even at the same resolution, can offer a better view. I'll take 720p on a 42" screen over a 22" screen. Also, more space for the keyboard, more space for buttons, more space for webpages, more space for game controls, easier to see the pictures and videos. Tons of advantages of stretching the image out even if the resolution is the same.
Also, the smallest WP7 device right now is the LG Quantum, I believe. I'm pretty sure we'll get another 3.5" device in the next wave this fall.
