Does Yahoo have their Fantasy Football app available for Windows Phone? I used the HTC Radar for 6 months to try out Windows Phone, but not having my Fantasy Football app was a big deal.

I think fantasy ferret works as a yahoo sports fantasy app. I use it for my baseball league on Yahoo.

Got a quick question about the Lumia I bought the other week. I set up Zune and wireless connectivity, and have now noticed that whenever my phone is charging, once it gets to around 90% charge, it starts randomly connecting to my laptop?

It is charging via the wall socket and Zune isn't running at the time. But I hear that USB connection noise on my laptop and sure enough my phone is connected. It will do this on and off several times until it reaches 100% charge? Is this normal? How do I stop it? Thanks.

It's trying to sync with your computer. It's normal. I'm assuming you have the Zune software installed if you've set up wireless connectivity, if so, its trying to sync any updated content, or sync any content you've acquired on the phone to the computer.

Well, convince wife to give Windows Phone a try and she agree. She like the fact that the Titan screen is so big since she is going to use the phone mostly for reading stuff on the web.

I got Lumia 900 ($20.00 on contract). I know I should really wait for next round of phone but it probably going to be $200+ so I figure I am going to wait until late fall when there are deal around Thanksgivings or may be wait for Pureview next year if the fall line up doesn't excite me. I have two more phone on the plan that is no longer on contract and another one in about 6 months...

Anyway I think I prefer smaller phone than the Titan. The phone feel good but I prefer HTC Super LCD screen. The blue on my phone seems greenish sometimes. Already got comment from female co-workers that the phone is pretty. A male co-worker recognize it as Windows Phone, (He didn't know my Titan is also Windows Phone) so Microsoft is benefiting from Lumia unique looks.

There were couple update waiting for me as soon as I connect to Zune. So far the phone seems to be solid, my sister told me I sound a lot better on the phone.

It certainly takes intestinal fortitude to buy into Windows Phone 7 now, on the very eve of it's extinction.

It's 20.00 and I rather buy extinct Lumia phone than getting one of the older crappy Android phone from At&t. I wish they drop the One-X to $50.00 ... I might just bite and use that until Lumia WP8.

Samsung filed a new trademark for a new line of phones and tablets and people are suggesting it's for their Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 devices.

Samsung AITV S and AITV Tab.

It's Vita backwards.

Since it is Vita backwards does that mean it will be successful?

What models would Samsung WP8 devices be based on? Because I cannot stand the look of the GSIII and I also don't think it would really fit the WP style.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook

Really? The GS3 is based on the old GS1 look, and we already have multiple WP7 devices that look like old GS1 devices. Hell the Focus is a rebranded Captivate with WP7 buttons.

Something about the roundness, the colors and the metallic look is really offputting to me. It sounds weird, but the curves seem "off" and unharmonic.

It's the curves. They made it very pronounced and far more curved compared to a simple round rect. It doesn't look like a rounded rectangle anymore.

I am pretty confident Samsung will do with WP8 what did with Android. They will quickly become the number one oem far outselling all the others in phones and tablets. They will actually do alot in terms of the success of the whole platform imo. :p

Any shots of the HTC Zenith, Accord or Rio yet?

One thing I don't like about my current phone (HTC Mozart) is that the back/start/search buttons are touch sensitive. Very easy to accidentally touch them and back out of an app on accident. These buttons should be hardware, and they really need to work on some kind of contextual search.

The focus isn't symmetrical though. Plus it's all black so it hides the contours.

Like I said it's because the GS3 design is based on the GS1 design. The comparison pic posted is for the GS2 which is actually the odd man out here. The GS2 just seemed to take off in the public mindset though that it's what people think of.

Maybe it's just me, but the S III looks nothing like the OG Galaxy S.

has calmed down a bit.
Best looking Windows Phone out there. But it irks me that Samsung just had to put something from the iPhone in there.

I think the Lumia 900, 800, and the Dell Venue Pro look better. Samsung did a good job with the focus flash too, I like the design on that.

The Lumia design has worn out its welcome, imo. The N9 looked nice, the 800 got the buttons too close to the screen and the 900 is just another rehash, but without the curved glass. The DVP looks great, but it's a bit too fat.

I strongly, strongly disagree. Especially here in the US, Nokia should (and probably will) use that design again on an Apollo device.

I was holding my wife's phone yesterday and I'm still in love with that design.

I still haven't seen a better looking smartphone.

The rumored images of the forthcoming iPhone and Razr HD don't change my opinion. In fact, those phones look worse than their predecessors. The iPhone is sacrificing its well balanced proportions in a half hearted attempt to measure up to the Jones's and the Razr looks like it belongs in some teenager's tricked out Honda.

I've never been a fan of Samsung's designs. They always looked odd to me. HTC/Nokia/Apple are much better.

DVP was amazing until I saw it's bulk in person. So sad.

How is HTC in your list and Sony not? Ever since HTC's succes with Android, they've been recycling their designs, with the One series beeing a focus on design since a long time. Admittedly, their still better than Samsung.

The Omnia 7 is the only design I like from Samsung. I would even prefer HTC over them, that means a lot I guess.

I should have mentioned Sony. Sony's designs have always impressed me. Lust-worthy stuff. The Casino Royal phones made me shiver in delight. Their candy-bar phones also made me jelly beyond belief.

Xperia play makes me want to shoot myself, though.

EDIT: Omnia 7 was a good looking phone, though a tad on the chubbier side. I told everyone I knew about this phone company called HTC when they were making the HTC Touch, Touch Diamond, etc. I was like: These guys are going to blow up in the states soon. They did. Then they recycled a lot of their designs to pump out phones to attempt to copy Samsung. I feel like they realized their mistake and have turned it around (at least design-wise) with the One series. I hope their future output will not be swayed by their lack of success in the market with the One series.

What I like about the Omnia 7 is that is looks like Microsofts Windows Phone 'mold':

Really love the front of the phone. The back is just..frankensteinish

I'll be posting the OT for Nokia's September 5th event tomorrow (a week is the rule, right?), does anyone have any have thread names?

Nokia's Windows Phone 8 Event |OT| Take note, Samsung
Nokia's Windows Phone 8 Event |OT| No, the other phone announced in September

Any other ideas?
