If you liked the first season you'll like the others just as much most likely. I love Hidamari so it's been enjoyable every time.

That's good to hear^^

Edit: Just saw the OPs to season 2 and 3 and OMG! They are catchy and cute  They won't leave my mind NOOOOOOOOO~~~~~ lol

Not sure why, but this season's been a dunce for me...watching Hidamari on and off, but that's about it...

Oh and Omamori Himari, but that's just because I found the OP song to be catchy...I'll probably stop even watching occasional episodes after I get my hands on the CD single at the end of this month... :/

Everything else just seems...bleh....even stopped watching Railgun regularly...

After reading through the anime recommendation thread I decided to give Nodame Cantabile a run through. Good show, really enjoyed it. Anybody else like this one?

I'm up to episode 4 of Kimi ni Todake. Some parts are kind of hard to get through, but it's just like the manga so it's entertaining enough.

And the fuck is Durarara!! even about? I'm up to episode 3 and I don't see any semblance of a central plot outside of the daily life of this fucked up city. Good show though =P

You didn't watch the whole movie? because you should've, as the last third of the movie is very awesome.
"The film is a compilation of the events of the first arc of the series (episodes one through fifteen) with around 20 minutes of newly animated scenes."
Is it really worth it? and hows the second related to the anime?

I was bored the other day and decided to check out Chu-Bra for the lulz, and I got hooked in an odd way.
Am I a bad person? :(

If you wouldn't feel uncomfortable explaining your actions to a court of your peers, then no.

Cobra : The Animation 5 - Predictable entertainment, I stay just for Cobra's non-ironic voice-acting. And for the tension of when Cobra will use the psychogun.

Nadia : huzzah that bitch finally got slapped in the face. It was a long time coming, and nearly brought a tear to my eye.

No, you are not. Chu-Bra is actually pretty funny :lol

So can anyone make some suggestions this winter season?

I wanted to try out the top 3 and avoid all the fan service stuff.

Thanks

I've been pondering why this manga series hasn't gotten an anime version of it.

BTW anime-gaf, is this the only zombie manga out there in Japan?

Eh, well Shikabane Hime is kinda about zombies. I mean people die and come back to life, but I'm not sure if it's whats you're looking for.

I started watching Durarara!! And so far it seems pretty amazing, up to episode 3 and can definitely see greatness.
I dunno, its an ok anime but not really doing anything for me. I won't stop watching though because baccano! took awhile to get really good too.

This season has been so crap, I started back on my back log I forgot how amazing fist of the north star is.

I've been liking the stupid shows:
Bakatest, Chu Bra, Ladies versus Butlers.
Bakatest is the best of the three, but each one has its good points, comedy wise, altho I could do without the fanservice/depressing bits in Chu Bra.

Yes Durarara and... er...

Watched the first epsiode of Bakatest yesterday, I'm with what other people have been saying, it's stupidly entertaining.

What is the name of Darker than Black's first season? Right now I'm looking at DtB: Ryusei no Gemini, and Dtb: Gemini of the Meteor and I don't know which comes first.

The first season is usually just called Darker than Black, and very rarely Darker than Black: The Black Contractor. The second season is called either DtB: Ryusei no Gemini or Dtb: Gemini of the Meteor, but it's the same title.

Big meh to me. The anime is going to be nowhere near as awesome as the manga, much of it will have to be cut out for broadcast.

Dullalala 5 - after last weaks episode which centered around a couple of characters this weak just seemed really unfocused. Maybe I just don't care about those characters that we focused on this week, but then I didn't have too much trouble with them in the opening. I honestly couldn't describe what that epsiode was actually about, the pacing just felt wierd to me.

It was brilliant. The first scene is the ending and the events leading up to that are shown the rest of the way. The whole point is that all the characters and their situations are connected somehow. Very interesting...

Green Green TV anime is totally wtf!
Seriously just when I found some alright ecchi it turns from weird to WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There's this episode where girls and boys pair up for some scary stroll in the night. anyways, there's this extremely perverted fat guy with glass that stumbles on a bear. The bear for some odd reason ends up raping the fat kid in some bushes. The fat kid doesn't eve try to runaway and politlely asks him, "why now!?" or somethin in that vein.
Not just that, there's some dude that sniffs a girl before eating a plate of white rice. Honestly wtf!!!
Do some japanese actually do this kind of shit

Lol yea the friends are so annoying, also warning the ova is basically softcore, though I felt that it hit that 'payoff' for the girl I was rooting for.

So anime GAF Im watching Kimi ga Nozomu Eien and I wanna know if its worth it. Unbeknownst to me, School days was based off a game but will this anime have the same crazy-holy-fuckin-shit-son-of-a-bitch ending as school days?
:/

It's only fucked up because of the melodrama. I suppose it's doubly funny because they went ahead and made an alternate ending OVA just to please fans of the other pairing. :lol

Wow. I just read Adult Swim picked up FMA:Brotherhood. I thought AS gave up on anime and was focusing on their shitty in-house comedy sketches.

Meh if your into melodrama than yeah go ahead and watch it or you could simply watch korean dramas because that's how the anime felt as if it was a k-drama.

Yeah just saw a commercial. Starts next Saturday no less. Wonder if they got anyone to replace Al since his VA in the original is too old now.

While the episode is structured with the end first, chronologically, that isn't very interesting as it's fairly overused. You take events A,B,C,D,E, and then lay it out E,A,B,C,D. The idea, usually, is to build up some tension but the events themselves didn't feel particularly tense.

Anyway my main problems with this episode were with i) the characters that were focused on and ii) the epsiodes flow, pacing and focus.

As i) will be personal (anri sonohara *yawn* I will try and explain ii). The last episode was very focused on two characters and the events that surrounded them with few extraneous scenes. This week we had
Opening attack scene, cut to Stely's hideout, cut to mikado, sonohara and Kida, cut to a flashback of Yagiri, then scene with Anri and the teacher, then the three of them in the park, then explanation of Yagiri and that girl with the apparent neck scar, then cutting to the 'discussion' of who is strongest in the city, then some Kida back story, which is focused on for a bit while he also goes around asking about the Dollars, then the events of the begining.

Theres attention going to too many different characters in the episode, none of them getting the right amount of time and all the scenes don't really sit well with each other, pacing wise.

Haruhi film debuts at #7/#6:

The Vanishment of Haruhi Suzumiya film, the first ever film in the Haruhi Suzumiya franchise, opened on Saturday and earned in the range of 100 million yen (about US$1 million) in its first two days. That was enough to rank the 163-minute film at #7 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's weekend chart in Japan. (The Eiga.com website lists Kogyo Tsushinsha's ranking, but also puts the film at #6 in its own tally.) In this Kyoto Animation film, chief director Tatsuya Ishihara and director Yasuhiro Takemoto adapted the fourth Haruhi Suzumiya light novel from Nagaru Tanigawa and Noizi Ito.

The film opened on only 24 screens, which led to long lines and high per-screen averages in box office receipts. The Mainichi Shimbun paper's Mantan Web site reported that about 500 fans stood in line early Saturday morning at Tokyo's Ikebukuro district to catch the first screening at 8:00 a.m.

By comparison, the weekend's #1 film in Japan, James Cameron's Avatar, is in its seventh weekend on about 680 screens. Neither Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st nor Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works ranked in the top 10 when they opened in the same weekend last month. Viewers spent 61,292,300 yen (US$685,700) to watch the Nanoha film 39,863 times on 19 screens in its first weekend. Similarly, viewers spent 37,699,500 yen (US$420,400) to watch the Fate/stay night film 24,407 times on 12 screens in its first weekend.

Well FMA is a bit different. I think the popularity of the original run of FMA was what caused them to run any anime at all in the first place.

Adult Swim loves shitty non-sequitor focused nonsense though. I doubt they will stop making those.

Not really. They've had anime since the beginning. Early Adult Swim had a lot more anime than they do now.
