Everything would be better with more lesbians and penguins.
Seen Movie #2 The Sealed Card yet Cajun? (you died mid-way through your CCS marathon ) If not, make sure and visit a clinic for your AWESOME shots first.
Well if you can't stand watching harem comedy/action shows then I guess you wouldn't, but eh, they can be amusing fun. Or painful suffering, in the case of Maken-Ki. Often they have some elements of both, like Majikoi.
Holy shit I love this show. It really sucks there isn't more of this, definitely a bunch of plot points unresolved and stuff that went nowhere that I'd liked to have seen,
like the stuff with Gomez, and that guy in Tsutomu's group of friends who was an alien.
Guess it didn't do well enough for more episodes
I did like how the second half focused more on Birdy's past, but didn't like that Tsutomu was shoved off to the sidelines even more than before.
Also, ep 25, first time I've ever actually recognized work from an animator I've seen before, although I can't remember his name. I recognized it as the style of some Naruto episodes and bits of the FMA movie, specifically how there was quite a bit of QUALITY at some points, and and debris whenever someone was punched through a wall came out as a perfect cube lol.
Also, HOLY FUCK is the style of the manga and anime absurdly different...

Nope, I totally didn't see the incredibly suspicious dude with the glasses to have an ulterior motive. Certainly not even after all the heavy foreshadowing. Also, I'm almost certain that people don't get murdered at peace negotiations.
Glass Fleet, the show that never ceases to amaze after each and every episode.
To elaborate further, just because I don't think Redline was a great movie, it doesn't mean I don't support creative endeavors like Redline. The movie just never came together for me. You think the movie wouldn't have been better if
the role of the Roboworld government in the race wasn't so prominent in the competition and was reduced, and the BB thing was removed entirely?
It's what ruined the movie for me because Redline couldn't balance the action between
the Roboworld government and the racers, which deemphasized the notion they are individual racers, but a collective whole against one entity.
That's when the concept of racing became lost at me when
the explosions and carnage got ridiculous as it became a survival game instead.
Oddly intriguing. My only wish is that the heroine wasn't a manic pixie dream girl, because it really bugs me and the story is mostly serious except for her.

High School DxD 8-10 - Entertaining fun as always. This show is good; shameless but good. I hope it continues beyond 12 or 13 episodes for sure! Sometimes it's "honestly good" pretty good, other times it's "humorously fanservicey" entertaining, but either way it works.
Ep. 8 - I'd actually watched half of this episode some time ago, but hadn't finished it. I did now. This episode has several parts. In the first part, Issei's friends are saying how lucky he is to have all these attractive girls around him, and ask him to introduce them to one. He won't do so with any of the demons, but sets them up with...
that guy who dresses like a magical girl. Yeah, they're pretty mad.
Also, Asia acts all happy when Issei says about how his mother praised her for how domestic she is. She's not Japanese, but with that name (why IS the one European girl named "Asia" anyway...) and character type she sure is trying to be as Yamato Nadeshiko as possible... yeah, she's not my favorite character. She's better than many such characters, and is somewhat likable, and she has some decent reasons for liking him (him being the first person to treat her decently and all), but that kind of passive character is never one I like a lot, obviously. However, the part after that where she comes into the bath with him, wanting skinship (not realizing that these days mixed bathing is not common, of course) was kind of amusing...
In the last part of the episode, a match is set up against a rival demon who has a harem of 15 girls (who are his chess pieces) and also is the president's unwanted fiancee. Issei attacks him, but one of the girls knocks him out with a single hit. Ouch. Issei criticizing the guy for making out with one of his chesspiece harem girls while also being the president's fiancee was kind of hypocritical though... I mean, doesn't he want a harem of his own, and wasn't he just crying over the thought of that guy having one while he doesn't? Heh... so he has a faithful side to him too, clearly. Well, sort of, given that he's showing at least some interest in Asia too (though she may have more feelings for him than he does her? I'm not sure.).
Ep. 9 - Cue training arc, as expected. The group is off to train, so that in their match they won't lose so badly (Issei, of course, behing the one who needs the most work). At one point, Issei almost gets the girls to let him into a mixed bath, but while the other three girls don't mind, Koneko shuts him down. Too bad, Issei... On another note, poor moe Asia... Also, Issei is practicing his special move, stripping magic. Of course, what else would he be good at?
After that, Issei has something of a crisis of faith, as he has really realized how weak he is in comparison to the others, and doesn't want to be useless in the coming fight. He also says that Rias
"Is my number one"; the stuff he said in ep. 8 suggested towards this, but his current opinion is clear isn't it.
Sure, makes sense. But can they win? He has gained in strength in this training camp, despite his fears.
Ep. 10 - And the battle begins! The main characters are outnumbered 16 to 6, so they have their work cut out for them... and the enemies are very strong too.
... wait, wait. Koneko attacked during an enemy's speech! But I thought talking was a free action! Amazing... As for Issei, he's gotten better for sure. Clothing-destroying magic, huh. That's kind of cruel if his words are actually true (about "naked forever"). That seems unlikely, or at least something he could drop if he wanted to, but Koneko's ... none too thrilled ... reaction is reasonable (though it did bring you victory... maybe she'd rather not win that way? I don't know). That one of the girls he defeated calls him a womanizer for doing the move, though... ah, have you noticed what your master does?
Also, of course, Issei, that magic wouldn't work against someone who isn't shy... you know, like Rias or Akeno on your side. None of the three girls he just faced were like that, but I'd think someone eventually would be...
And then, with a final cliffhanger, the episode ends. They do a good job of making you want to keep watching from each episode to the next. Even if it was out though, I think not right now... I did just watch 2 1/2 episodes. Oh, and one last thing -- I'm not clear on what happens to people who get defeated/killed in the match here. Do they actually die, or are they just defeated and sent back or something? I wouldn't be surprised if it's the latter, but I don't remember the show really explaining this. I know the main villain has the power of invincibility, but that doesn't answer this question.
Redline is a great visual experience, but the plot, characters, and general premise are just standard racing movie stuff. I suppose you could say it has personality and the sci fi setting is a bit different, but I don't really think creativity is what's separating it and Sword of the Stranger.
So.. it seems that you have to be innovative for every aspect on a film to even be called creative on any miserable part of it this days. If we see in it an amalgamation of the 'wacky' racing genre with a unique visual style and dynamic direction hardly seen until that moment on this kind of movie setting, that is what I would call creative, compared to anything else.

If we start thinking of creativity as wholly unique ideas, then we are going to have an extremely hard time finding creative shows/movies/books these days.
Holy crap Issei is awesome. He completely ignored getting the rare dragon as a pet and instead opted for the clothes eating slime. I feel so bad for him, he didn't even get a pet.

Exactly! Practically everything has been done already, and what inspires you from others to make something ever so slightly different but fresh for many at the same time (like moving up a gear on this case) is, I think, a creative success.

This is why I like it when a director comes up with some weird shit like mindgame. It's at least unique and different. something that hadn't really been done before.

What? He entirely lacks any character at all. The perverted teenager who has no control over himself has some of the least depth out of any of the stock characters in anime.
I don't like Redline for its creative plot or clever writing. The bones of the plot are as standard sports-movie as it gets, and almost everything that happens is set out for the viewer beforehand, either by the Yellow Line race or by hints they drop pretty hard prior to the main event.
But Redline is not trying to tell me anything I didn't already know. It's out to blow my fucking mind, and it is wonderful. I love the vibrant, neon strokes which make up this universe of magical girls, cyborg fascists, and gorilla cop racers named Gori Rider. I love the absurd amounts of detail they put into every single thing. That sequence where the Roboworld bikes were being sent out to intercept racers was total animation porn. I couldn't believe it was happening as I was watching it.
Contrary to what I said before, I wouldn't want everything to be Redline. I just finished watching Usagi Drop, and it was also wonderful for very different reasons. But I really can't hate anything this movie did.
