Hard to take anything that starts out like this seriously. Or even as enjoyable pulp.
Reminds me of roleplayers in MMOs taking it all too seriously. Fanfiction for all!
Game mechanics in novel form! Sounds fun.

Hey it's not like you need to watch Rose of Versailles first or anything.
You do, however, have to watch it at some point, because it's a great show regardless of it's connection to later works.
Just treat it as pulp fiction.Hard to take anything that starts out like this seriously. Or even as enjoyable pulp.

Any decently-sized city in America will have no shortage of Mexican, French and Italian restaurants, but how many British restaurants are there? I mean yes, things like fish and chips are popular here, but how often do you see a "gourmet" British restaurant? That doesn't mean British food is bad, necessarily, but it certainly doesn't have the kind of culinary popularity that those countries have.
Is it some kind of hipster thing that's ironically bad?

Same character designer, after all.
Nah. Ok well i'll spoil the hook if you guys really don't care so people can know if it'll be entertaining or not. I mean in and of itself it's nothing great, but it can be a fun read if you go in without expectations.
They're playing the release of the first Virtual Reality MMO on the day it comes out, and notice that the log out button has disappeared. They start panicking until the head creator of the game tells them that they can no longer log off and that if they die in the game, they'll die in real life. The only way they can get out of the game is if they kill the boss of every floor (There's 100 floors). The paragraph Dresden posted is the prologue that takes place 2 years after this happens.
Well that premise is kind of obvious, I already kind of guessed as much. It's still pretty bad writing, although I wouldn't expect much better from an amateur translation of a Japanese light novel for teens.
I think A-1 studios is a mercenary studio, so it could look like anything, really.
omg erryone new SAO anime character art!!!

SO HYPE.
I mean it's not entirely bad. Perhaps I haven't read enough bad fanfiction, but I do agree that the Prologue's writing is bad. I wouldn't count it out just from that, though.
Well the good thing about visual mediums is that prose doesn't matter, unless you insert it through voiceover. Dialogue could still be a problem, but then, anime dialogue is almost universally bad.

I'm bored, let's talk about Mass Effect anime's Yoshinari designs:

[...]The way the movements of the above character, Ooba, are treated, in their defiance of physical laws, are reminiscent of the way Nakamura treats the main characters of Mononoke and Trapeze. In the convenience store scene, where he's wearing those teddy ears for no apparent reason, he's particularly similar to Irabu.
Let's at least commend Bioware for making an anime that will look good this time.

I know it's cool to forget all about [C] but it's pretty clear that Masakaki is a character that possesses the same air.

Yuri Seijin Naoko-san
Uh... that was certainly something. I've not yet determined what.
The musical was awesome, though.
I don't really think that will be assured. Look at how the Krogan design went from the base design to the animation design:

All detail is lost and it looks like generic animu.

You're talking like there's no such movie as Mardock Scramble.
Why did they think everyone wanted Mass Effect and Dragon Age animu? We're just going to get more list watchers who think Angel Beats is the greatest anime to ever existI don't really think that will be assured. Look at how the Krogan design went from the base design to the animation design:

Should be fun then! I'll get around to it.It's a fun light read, try it! (It'll also answer your question heh.)
But it does still look better than Dragon Age lol
Looks more like something you'd find in a Ninja Turtles episode. All detail is lost and it looks like generic animu.
too bad they did not just make a animooted version of this.

but seriously why isn't the animu about anyone other then vega. Honestly I would rather have a Kawaii uguu~ Liara or Tali animu.
Hnnnnnnng
I would be ok with animu of this.
That's.... not really saying anything at all.
Sure it is. Generic is always a stop up from abominable.

Somehow everything about this clicked with me--I bought the drama, I enjoyed the comedy, and for some reason I found the prime minister hilarious any time he went into giggling fangirls mode and either called someone -pyon or asked to be called -pyon.
The inevitable romantic angle came up, but never really dominated the parts of the storyline the anime covered.
All in all, a nice straightforward comedy about a group of (female) otaku with various interests, the cross-dressing son of a political family who hangs out with them, and how they all fit into the world. Really glad it got licensed, really hope it sells decently.
Bakumatsu 5
This show is better when it's just about killers killing people, and relatives of said people getting revenge, and the bad people then getting rid of loose ends. This supernatural stuff isn't cutting it. That whole first segment was incredibly smh worthy. Luckily, the shindig in the brothel after that was alright, so the ep wasn't all bad. I'm still waiting for Akidzuki to snap and start muttering at a mile a minute.
Nice choice to watch. Princess jellyfish is adorable. I plan to get the series soon.
It's always nice to see people check this show out. I've heard the manga's pretty good so you might wanna check that out too.Princess Jellyfish 3-11 (end)

The supernatural stuff is the weak link of the series. But even so, I found it very enjoyable. Solid characters and good historical setting.

Awesome. I just finished this show last week. The lady and I both enjoyed it, though I found the ending to be a little weak. No serious complaints though. Very cute show. I'm gonna check out Ano Hana next.
I really should watch Arrietty sometime.
