So I just discovered Platinum Disco on youtube, and I might have asked this before (and forgot) but how would one get into the Monotagari series?

I recall, watching Monotagari (the first season) but quit in the middle of it due to by interest going elsewhere.

This is like discovering buried treasure. You have unearthed a gem of the earth.
Its best to start with the original Monogatari and go from there. You have a ton of episodes to watch already!

Do you have any comedy recommendations at all?

I YouTubed for "GXSCC" and got more rants against it than any remixes done by it. Why is it so hated?

GXSCC was used quite a lot a few years back as a way to make '8-bit' music. Eventually it caught on that it wasn't the best way of creating chiptune at all. GSXCC applies recorded sound from the Konami SCC chip to MIDI files without taking to account the limitations of the chip. GSXCC can have over 40 channels of sound playing at once while most chipsets at the time can only around 3-5 channels (You could have a bit more with expansion chips but not that much). This is when people started to hate it as it wasn't an accurate representation of what you could get at the time.

An easy and more accurate way of creating music chiptune is to use a music tracker such as LSDJ (Game Boy), FamiTracker (NES/Famicom, what I use) and Goat Tracker (Commodore 64) which simulate the sound from the systems better, LSDJ was actually put on a real Game Boy cartridge as well although the carts aren't made anymore. It is however a lot more time consuming and difficult to finish a song in a tracker than it is in GXSCC, where your song can be complete in minutes.

ending because of a last few interactions near the end. It had some pretty interesting characters and one thing this show did well for the most part was character development.
I liked the decision to implement a dramatic change halfway through, it made things rather exciting again. While I think they could've made something more out of it, I was still content with what was offered.

On the other hand, like I've mentioned before, this show has more tears and crying than anything I have ever seen before. They went overboard with it to the point where I just started rolling my eyes. This led to situations that actually could've been reinforced by it, in turn felt straight up powerless.
There's also the fact that majority of the characters run away from situations all the time. You fell on your knee? Cry and run away from everyone. Someone slightly misinterpreted your words? Cry and run away from everyone.
Besides these points and a few.. forced dramas and questionable writing decisions, I enjoyed it to the end. Though I suspect the beautiful art had a strong impact.

tl:dr; Pretty good romance drama with good character progression, it has some flaws, looks amazing, Uroko best girl.

Just gotta say, the background art in this show is phenomenal. Who did the bgs?

That gif (and the other one) are the only good things to come out of Angel Beato.

The songs by Girls Dead Monster are really good.

Well, we can safely separate this episode into two parts, the pseudo-romance parts of which there is a special place in hell for the creators of every agonizing moment of this shtpile. Seriously, trying to push Sekai as some kind of girl magnet is just not working since he has about zero swagger or game in his whole soggy body.

As far as the match goes, as expected now that we are out of jobber central the matches are back to being good and watchable. Team SD-R are the first credible challengers that Team Try Fighters has to go through and it is no easy task. In between the ninja tactics, the absorb system, and the god damned dragon, this is already a highlight of the season and it has a second episode since we have a final form to fight.

Even more background porn than usual and the most uncomfortable date in the history of dates. That somehow, miraculously, ended on a happy note. And man Nakamura is creepy, she is like this monster in a horror that you know is going to jump at you at some point but you never know when.

Kasuga's new found relationship seems like a perfect way of worsening his already terrible situation.

Well that episode was a wash. First off we have what was probably the worst "romance" scene in the show so far, followed by both teams looking at footage of each other for five minutes and then the first half of a fight which amounted to the Try Fighters standing around the majority of the time. The gimmick of the haunted castle amounted to basically nothing,

And then the three clone SDs

turned into a pretty mediocre looking dragon gundam. I mean I sympathise with the designer who was tasked with trying to turn an SD fusion into something intimidating and fierce but they didn't pull it off.
