Gourmet Girl Graffiti 6

This episode. Damn. lol.

I think I will also start taking baths with at least one girl in order to conserve water. I care about the environment!

World Break:Aria 6

My god what a mess of a episode. Terrible animations, constantly inconsistent monster sizes, way to many still shots and they even fucked up the dubbing.

Seriously ...they really couldn't manage this episode properly... they also reused a lot of shots from previous episodes to try to stay coherent

Dammit Jarmel, now I'm going to have to explain:
Basically, Anime is an advertisement that pays for itself. Every sale works out as a discount and in the end you either make more money from the anime itself of you get very cheap promotion and a modest boost on your original media.
For the production committee this is win-win.

Cross Ange-19

Oh man. I don't even know where to begin with this shit. As weird and as awful as this sounds, I viewed a good chunk of the first half as feminist. This was mainly due to how females were trying to overthrow the established system, which is largely run by males. The single 'good-side' male is subservient to Ange after all. I feel awful typing that previous sentence due to the ridiculous amounts of gratuitous fanservice that are oriented for the male audience.

I was doing more or less the same. Obviously it isn't really feminist with that much fanservice but the story itself it's pretty female-empowering.

However the 2nd cour has somewhat ruined any sort of notion in regards to that as Tusk has been the one bailing out Ange and also Embryo's dominance over the females. The only reason Ange broke out of the mindcontrol was due to Tusk kissing her.

It's true they did the typical "the kiss of the loved one saved her", but still, look of how they put a male brainwashing rapist as the big bad guy to defeat. It still makes sense!

I read this as Magic Knight Rayearth because Im blind. You should watch Magic Knight Rayearth.

I saw one episode of that dubbed and its first episode left a negative impression on me. Everything seemed to go way too fast without any real breathing room.

I might go back to it at one point, since that show apparently actually IS mecha magical girls. But I don't know. Currently I'm watching Gaiking, Ryu Knight, and Mushishi. That and the last two episodes of Robot Girls Z.

Hunter x Hunter - 51

Aww shiet, He-Man and grandpa is coming to play. I'm excited to see how they fare. Phantom boss is pretty cool with his indoor fish and all that fuzz. When the requiem replaces the ED, shit is pretty much confirmed to go down next!

Time to catch up with S3 of Dog Days!

Dog Days S3 Ep 1

Where did all this budget come from :O Its so colorful and fluid. Looks awesome. I like the ninja forest girl.

No way is that film cost/profit figure right without a shitload of caveats. Otherwise nobody would bother making animated films in the first place.

1 billion yen is only about 8.5 million dollars, so that's not that weird. If your anime film only makes 8.5 million dollars yeah, it won't be very profitable.

I'm assuming that the estimates are for bigger name titles than what we usually talk about (late night equivalents). TBS producer Nakayama commented in an interview regarding the K-On! movie that they took out more advertisements than usual for a movie and they also had TV specials/promotional stunts/increased amount of theatres. For something more mainstream, of course 1 billion is needed to make a profit, but if you're something like Sora no Otoshimono or Expelled From Paradise in about 20-30 theatres to start, I doubt you're needing to earn that much to make a profit. If not, welp, nearly everything bombed since 2010.

Katanagatari 01

In the absence of more Monogatari, this should be interesting. I'm so used to half hour anime that an hour-long episode is weird (I think a half hour is a perfectly acceptable length for most shows - though it feels like Kamen Rider wishes it was an hour these days), but I can roll with it. I like the kaiga-inspired art and, while the conversations lack the flourish that Shaft would've given them, I never felt like I was going to lose my attention. It strikes me as somewhere in the same range as Hyakkaryouran Samurai Girls and Kajiri Kamui Kagura.

As for the story itself.

A simple fetch quest of a story, a perfect setup for a villain of the week type deal... and with a framework as simple as that established, it's free to be about other things, like the nature of revenge and some of Isin's meta jokes about light novels. Shichika's focus on the wrong details ("How did you pull that thing out of your mouth?") was amusing, and now that the story is past setting up the exposition, I look forward to seeing how these future conflicts are expanded upon. It's got potential - not just for the action, but for the stuff around it. As it should.

Dog Days S3 Ep. 2

An awesome action packed episode. Loved it! That combination attack with Gaul and Jaune was hype. Eclair and Rico's reunion with Cinque was adorable, both tails wagging furiously.

Sharl is also a sick archer, and looks to be slowly joining the hero's harem. Those ears. Is she a cow?

Looks like there's a storyline brewing too.

Some great Sakuga in S3.
The direction took a huge hit though as did some other aspects of the production. More shitty CG and some of the commendable parts of S1/2 were toned down.

Ah really? So far in the 2 episodes the art looks much improved. The backgrounds look noticeably better, but maybe because the setting is more interesting than just castles and stuff.

The most adorable? Those are big words my friend. I know some moenuke tier endings.

I read this as Magic Knight Rayearth because Im blind. You should watch Magic Knight Rayearth.

Show me then! Oreshura's is just insanely adorable though. Yuyushiki's is also up there for me.

Oh, and yes, Magic Knight Rayearth is awesome. Play the Sega Saturn game though.

Gaiking: Legend of Daiku Maryu - 5

I really hope this show develops into its own thing at some point or another. Because with the revelation that the crew of the Daiku Maryu are wanted criminals, it's really starting to show some Eureka Seven colours.

But thankfully they played a different insert song in this episode. Was worried that they'd actually play it in every episode.

That's kinda what I'm getting out of this. Even with merchandising, movies would seemingly be a blackhole.

Fuuuuuuuck yeaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh

Dog Days needs a Season 4. Please. PLEASE.
Well they are not being subtle about winter ..so i guess they are already doing groundwork for an S4 ....

She is horse , unless someone confirm otherwise.

I honnestly think that the trade-off is more than enough , especially since teh CG is not INYOURFACE like in those anime with bad budget ... here it's a choice made for better animation in the area that matter. i'm fine with it.

On the last episode of GTO and couldn't recommend it enough. My moms a teacher and I'm graduating in December to become a teacher so it was absolutely perfect for me.

What should I watch next? I'm thinking Golden Boy is that a good follow up to GTO?

Well. You could always read the GTO manga. It has many more chapters the anime didn't cover and the ending arc of the anime is completely different and doesn't compare to how the manga ends. Which is amazing. You basically just google what's the chapter you can start with and go on from there.

Ohh yea. I'll be sure to do that. Thanks!

GTO is in my Top 5 ever. Be awesome like the Onizuka my friend. Make sure to watch the live action movies too, amazing.

Also, yes, Goldenboy is amazing, watch it dubbed!

Don't forget the drama and associated specials as well. It's pretty good too, though the second season isn't as good as the first.

Yea I plan to watch the live action version after I finish NuWho. Thanks I'll watch it dubbed!

Samurai Warriors 6

I have no idea why i'm still watching this, the dullest character in the game is the main character. At least his brother makes it mildly interesting.

This is everything I want in anime, well almost everything, but that's fine, episode 6 was literal food porn, I love the preview music and the little dancing chibi characters, and I just get hungry watching it, it makes me want to try cooking Japanese food, and that's another thing, this would make a good cooking programme if it had more than just the cute, look what I made at the end of the cooking.

I only hope Shokugeki no Soma will be half as good.

World Break - 05

The last two weeks we've been blessed to have Chiaki Omigawa.

This week we are blessed to get Yū Kobayashi.

This show is saving anime one legendary VA at a time.

Edit: firehawk, search out the Kobayashi clips. You won't be disappointed.

"My ass is your ass, and your ass is my ass." All in that beautiful aggressive (and charming) yelling voice she has.

Lord of Lords Ryu Knight - 2-4

I'm liking this a lot. In fact I'm REALLY liking this a lot.

Like, the mecha design was weird to me at first, but there's this charming appeal to them that they have. Like it just sort of feels like the kind of mecha that you'd see in a fantasy setting.

And this show is a fantasy through and through. The main heroes are a group consisting of a knight, ninja, mage princess, and a priest. I have to say I really did not expect to enjoy this that much from the first four episodes alone.

I can't remember the last anime I watched that integrated mecha in a fantasy setting like this. This show is actually fun!
