So I was wondering since I don't know that much about anime business, but how long does a Anime Studio own rights to a series whether it's a Manga, Light Novel, or etc? Is it infinite, a few years, or does it depend on the situation?

My understanding is that an anime studio almost never owns the rights to a work. Usually it's the production committee or the original publishing company. KyoAni and Sunrise are the few exceptions now. As for the copyrights expiring, my guess is probably very very long if not flat out indefinite.

Anime production studios pretty much never own the rights to an adapted series. Those rights would stay with the original publisher/creator. Anime studios only own the rights to a series if it's an original anime that originated at the studio. For instance, BONES owns the rights to Space Dandy.

"Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade"

The Anime Matsuri convention, which takes place on April 3-5 in Houston, will host Studio Trigger and director Yoh Yoshinari (the director of the original Little Witch Academia). The studio is aiming to screen a preview of the Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade anime.

The ideology of almost every super robot pilot right here, folks.

Anyways, the fabulous looking dude on the left doesn't even need to get inside a mecha and he still ends up defeating Adeu.

This first taste of defeat causes him and his robot to become so butthurt that the robot actually starts crying.

One of the noteworthier spring '15 shows, a lot of talent involved. Rie Matsumoto directed Kyousogiga. The art director also seems like a sharp guy:
33437.jpg

Edit: Woah, he art directed Mononoke.
How can an animator like Takashi Hashimoto suddenly do art direction? He was Chief Animation Director/Character Designer for Mononoke, not art director. He's also the effects Animation Director for Kekkai Sensen.

The art director for the show as mentioned is Shinji Kimura.

:(

They reunite the couple and just when I think this episode's going to have a happy ending, the dude's wife fades away before him since she was no longer human.

Why you gotta punch me in the gut like that Mushi-Shi? ;_;

But man, the moment leading up to that was some really well directed stuff. When he was pulling the cover off I was expecting a decayed corpse to be under it followed by some dramatic music to make me jump out of my seat. I'm glad that wasn't the case, but man that scene after the reunion was a heartbreaker.

I didn't know Hashimoto was only the Effects Director, I thought he was doing Chief Animation Director. I wonder then if Kawamoto is going to be Animation Director, he almost always is when he does character designs.

He already got remarried to that brown girl so it wasn't going to be a happy ending either way. But yeah, poor first wife

I'm just going by a quick look at the ANN staff list but he's done the role of Effects Director a number of times so I wouldn't be surprised.

She is horse , unless someone confirm otherwise.

I honnestly think that the trade-off is more than enough , especially since teh CG is not INYOURFACE like in those anime with bad budget ... here it's a choice made for better animation in the area that matter. i'm fine with it.

Ah okay. Horse makes sense now when I look at her tail. Cow...that was stupid lol.

If the CG is just the citizens / mobs, that wont really bother me that much. Well see!

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?
This show is weird in a very non-suspecting way. I think I'm watching a secret harem show again. But this, this scene convinced me to watch it all the way through. I have to now. It doesn't take a lot for me to commit to a show.

Are you reaching the Rainbow eps yet?

I enjoyed this episode, but it felt like it was missing something

-No it wasn't because of the fanservice. I was indifferent to it.
-Everything fine on the food porn front.
-The story and direction were fine.
-There were plenty of good moments between Kirin and Ryou.
-And even Shiina manages to appear at the end.

So what gives? I can't put my finger on it...

Time to investigate

This is now bugging me too, and it was kind of echoed in the episode with Kirin not being satisfied too.

Decided to watch the last episode of that Sega school girl thing and yeah:

This show must have been a dream job for Kibe, especially considering all the abuse he gets from Arino for being a Sega fan. lol

There was something about it. Part of it was me rolling my eyes at the fanservice. Made it feel tired.

That said currently living through the summer exhaustion period had me nodding. Though for me that has me avoiding hot meals and hot bathes.

Still...the eel dish was intriguing. And definitely want something more of the neighbour.

Do you guys hate the Yuno end-of-episode reflection scenes in Hidamari too? I think it always feels completely unoffensive and I treated it the same with this show.

Woah. That's a pretty major mistake there translating 'deranged' as 'serious'

Best part of the show!
I will never get sick of edgy engrish metal OPs. Except Parasyte's and Bahamuts those suck
It really is.

Parasyte's opening has actually grown on me. But boy I didn't realise it was mostly in english till last episode.

I warned ya.

I went in mentally prepared at least !

Strike Wiches 9-10

Meh. What a misguiding cliffhanger that was. You were supposed to shoot her, not try to save her.

Meanwhile Miyafuji gets hit with the stupid stick and disobeys the orders twice, Neuroi
are not so totally evil any more
and poor Leigh-Mallory becomes (presumably)
the final villain
. At least they're on path to being historically accurate with his time of death.

let me process this

well , no that's not how it works

^^ how about listenning for once, principal ? still the whole scene is not that useless since the pendant seems to be an important item for later ..i'll keep that in mind.

Too much delusions in this episode , even if it did give a little of ginko side of the events , hopefully we'll be able to understand that better.

^^^And after all of this , she still hasn't kicked them out of her home !!! what a kind girl, lol.

DAT cliffanger , finally some changes , watching ep 6 asap....

Sailor Moon Mondays: Sailor Moon R: Episode 81:

In spite of this being a very Chibi-Usa heavy episode I did not hate this, mainly because she wasn't acting like the bratty hellion she can so often be. Also, despite the name of the title this was mostly a formula affair with Esmurelde enacting the usual evil plan of the week only with double the pleasure, double the fun. This is also one of those episodes that gives us a one shot character whom we have never seen before and probably will never see again and who wholly exists to be the catalyst for Chibi-Usa's greatest outpouring of energy yet, so great that plans have altered for the Black Moon Clan. We also get some more glimpses into what happened to Chibi-USa's mother and the upshot of all of this is the team is finally ready to head to the future and get the plot moving forward again. This episode is recommended to watch.

It's quite AMAZINg that the more i watch this show, the more i understand the rules in place, the more i must wonder what kind of mind managed to output such needlessly complex story for a tale of jalousy and social exclusion...

WHY SO COMPLEX ??

Sailor Moon Mondays: Sailor Moon R: Episode 82:

Piggybacking onto the last episode, it is time for The Sailor Scouts to go forward to the future in order to end the evil machinations of the Black Moon Clan once and for all. On the way there though we are given another encounter with the mysterious Sailor Pluto who honestly still isn't doing much and we do learn a few new things about the guardian of space-time and yea no shockingly being stuck as the doorgirl to the cosmos is kind of boring and lonely. She does offer up some foreshadowing, both the subtle and the obvious as they step through the door. Before the Scouts can enter the future the have to traverse the Corridor of Space-Time and this is where Prince Dimande first views the Scouts and Usagi for the first time in this anime and he instantly gains a new fetish for rabbits. Anyway, the team gets lost in time labyrinth and things take a turn for the boring before we are finally allowed a good glimpse at the Crystal Tokyo. Given the importance of this episode is is recommended to watch.

What I Expected: RomCom

What I Got: "Here's Johnny" + Mirai Genzai Nikki

It was pretty good. Saki is super cute.

I went back to watching Michiko to Hatchin and some things in hear just irritate me. I don't know who translated this, but some of this shit is poor. There's a bunch of shit that doesn't make any grammatical sense and there's some strange lines of dialogue that I don't see the purpose of being there at all for instance when Michiko goes into the tomato plant and that woman says "you have long legs". There's no comical context behind it or doesn't really show anything about the character, it just seemed like a random as hell comment.

That thing with the hairy mole on the arm was weird too.

Yeah, I mixed them up. Sorry.
.
I just watched Ninja Scroll, it was pretty awesome. Did you guys know there was a sequel in the works?

The original director made 3 short films to gauge interest, but they were never released publically. Maybe the motorcycle man didn't go over too well.

Haruka Tomatsu's character returns! I figured as soon as the episode begun that it was going to be a test put forth by Tsukimi, but as far as character interactions go? This show, for all the action romcoms, has the most natural characters of all of them. Some lewdness with Julie, but other than a callback at the end of the episode, it wasn't the central focus. Looks like the start of a multi-part arc, so curious to see where it goes from here. Pretty enjoyable.

It's like if humans went to war with Precure fairies. A land that wouldn't be out of place in a Disney theme park, but it's the main stage for war and social ostracizing. It was pretty clear from a few episodes ago what the relationship between Kureha and Ginko was, but Ginko's crime remains unclear. I'm starting to wonder who decided to build that wall in the first place, and if Kumalia may have been a human/bear who was saddled with a title she didn't ask for. That even bears have an Invisible Storm is showing that humans aren't that much better than the animals they hate. The story's moving in interesting directions here.
