Shia didn't do ANYTHING and she has arguably the mot overpowered Gunpla in the entire series, why didn't she just, y'know WALK on the Winning Beam like was demonstrated she totally could do?
Until the last fight with the OP, which was cool and had some good animation.

I don't know how to feel about this battle. I don't know how to feel about Try.

And the second season is straight confirmed now, unless it hasn't been greenlit or something.
Can't wait for the S ranks in this season to be shown beating on the SSS Ranks from the first season. Fumina beats Aila because why not

Really love shows that have proper epilogue episode as a last episode. Overall little disappointing show after strong start but still also very solid overall. Classic case of 8/10 anime for me.

All this talk about The Flowers of Evil just makes me sad that we'll never another series, probably for perfectly sound financial reasons. There's just never been anything that's ever looked or felt like that series within the world of standardises television anime. A truly memorable and unique experience.

Yeah, it really bums me out that we're almost certainly never going to see another season of the show.

I think there's a very real argument to be made that it's the best looking animated show ever made. And it's directed so flawlessly. There are multiple scenes from that show that I would confidently put up there as not just some of the best scenes in anime, but among the best scenes in any television series ever.

Masterfully well executed show about cray, cray, seriously crazy people. But it's a bit of a Berserk like situation, where (judging by the last episode) anime is sort of a prologue and the rest of the story must be sought in the manga.

Personally I found it to be one of the most effective portrayals of what adolescence is like that I can think of in a fictional work. Constantly the show had me remembering horrific moments from my own middle school experience, and the rage the story builds up against society and the mob mentality present in the education system is something that I felt really worked well. Plus, the way that the characters' lives go off the rails and spiral away is captivating to watch. It feels like one of the more authentic shows out there.

For me, watching Flowers of Evil was always a deeply emotional experience. Pretty much every episode left me feeling like I was going to suffocate under everything. The direction, visuals, audio, etc are all fantastic, yes, but this is also all in service to telling the story that it tells. I personally found a lot of meaning to be present.

Agreed. I've never been in the position the main character was in, of course, but I could relate to the idea of doing something and wishing you hadn't, that was kind of my life in a nutshell. The sheer panic that ensues as you're pulled into this rabbit hole, clamoring for that quiet life you once thought of as boring but now seems oh so appealing and the notion of suffocating is an accurate one. I don't buy the idea that the story goes nowhere, I mean I guess it doesn't go to space? But its a story about a bunch of teenagers at school, I think that its really accurate and yet not boring or uneventful. Some moments had me audibly gasp and the pacing was just second to none. Shame about where it leaves off, I really want more.

Precisely. If someone indicates that they're open to watching ecchi trash, by all means, throw Eiken at them. Likewise, if they want a viewing experience that sends them straight off the rails and crashing into Crazy Town, suggest School Days. On the other hand, if your implied rationale for recommending garbage to people is to catch them by surprise, that's a problem. There's a time and a place for everything.

Banning would be really harsh, especially when it's being done in good fun. I mean, in my case, I did click the buttons on Crunchyroll aND kept going back to see it through. If nothing else, it gives you a "big picture" view of what is out there in the Anime world. I can however, see how it could pissed off less tolerable peeps.. lol. By yeah, no Eiken for me, I've already visited the trash, lol.

A lot of it is simply their favorite shipgirl wasn't shown thusly its shit. Some complaints have been along the lines of believing the creators of the anime didn't do their homework regarding the personalities of the girls and the game itself. A fair number don't like the main character Fubuki because she's a very plain shipgirl.

So behind all the Cronenberg horror there was an enviromentalist message in this show.

This was great not just because of the animation, but because it never fell into a shounen esque fight series after the Shinichi got his powers. It always had a consistent tone all throughout the show.

Even though I never liked her character, I'm glad they didn't fridge Murano just to cause Shinichi grief. If that's one thing I hate about fiction is killing the female character to give the Mc some sort of motivation or trauma.

That's right, the gulf in quality between Season 1 and Season 2 is fairly dramatic. While it's clearly the same basic show, the first season feels fairly cliched and formulaic both in it's outlook and characters, while the second season reveals that the characters and the story is far more mature and complicated than it initially appeared.

The movie is basically the same impression with the OVA I have watch. Good fight scene with Afro against anyone who want him dead but not really much in the story. They is a new character in the movie but she don't really much character development except to try to kill Afro Samurai in the most painful way. The main plan is really bring back Afro dad back from the grave and give its life so he can try to kill his son. Also, Afro drop from #1 to nothing and he have to go back to get his #1 back.

Really, nothing much to say in Story/Plot/ Character development. Animation look great as usual and the fight scene is entertainment to watch. I guess if you like the OVA, you will love this movie and I do like it. Don't expect much after that (except more boobies).

There seems to be no reason for Ginti to not just send both of them to be reincarnated for being good people / to the void for annoying him. Better yet if you can just choose to live in purgatory why would anyone get on the elevator after realizing they're dead?
