:lol AwesomeThe tears of joy flow from my eyes like the particle effects of a vintage Future Crew demo.
FC only did PC demos as far as I know. Well, they still kinda do (3D Mark anyone?man, Future Crew did some awesome PC demos too. I remember trancing out to that shit back in 1991.
Fear not! I know for a fact Richard James has his fans on this board, and so does Chris Cunningham, who directed his best videos. I wonder if the music featured in this Wipeout will be his newer, crazyexperimental stuff.I'm suprised at the lack of celebration of this Aphex news! You people obviously don't know who Richard James is! After playing Pure, you'll know. *devious grin* Yes, you'll know. AND YOU'LL TURN INTO RAVENOUS APHEX FREAKS YOU WILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His newer stuff (Analord) is old school Acid Techno. Not much "crazyexperimental" stuff going on there... Knowing him, he'll just grab any old DAT off the shelf and send it off. Heh. but still, top news!! Game looks awesome.Marconelly said:Fear not! I know for a fact Richard James has his fans on this board, and so does Chris Cunningham, who directed his best videos. I think some mid-period Squarepusher Jenkins would be great for the Wipeout vibe. Think Port Rhombus or A Journey to Reedham a la 1998.
Oh HELL yes.RE4 vs. SH4 said:"Theme from Ernest Borgnine" would rule too.
You are talking about Windowlicker video right? Cunningham also directed a video for Come to Daddy, which is one of my favorite videos of all time (for one of my favorite songsYay! I love that video too, even though it still slightly bugs me when it skips to the 'climax' in the final parts. Just doesn't sound right to me after listening to the single for so long. Still, it's hilarious. I've shown it to my friends and they all burst out into hysterical laughter when she turns around and it looks like those guys are gonna barf while running in terror.
OK, i was thinking about his previous album (I think it was previous) that sounded pretty weird and experimental. His newer stuff (Analord) is old school Acid Techno. Not much "crazyexperimental" stuff going on there...
Marconelly said:So, it's confirmed that Wipeout will use licensed music tracks, some kind of compresed audio stream basically (not midi or that kind of music). It is also confirmed that there will be downloadable music. Now, I *really* hope someone will figure out their music format (I know they are not using MP3 or ATRAC) and make a software that converts any music file into that format.

Have I mentioned that Wipeout Pure will also feature new downloadable race tracks? And I heard today that the developers will also have a website that'll let players remix their favorite songs (from the soundtrack, I presume) and then download that onto their PSPs as well. WHAT WON'T WIPEOUT PURE HAVE?

Dev interview vid up at Gamespot mentions that they hope downloadable tracks will basically double the number of tracks from what it'll ship with (16).chespace said:Have I mentioned that Wipeout Pure will also feature new downloadable race tracks?

Yeah, that one. I definitely like it, just not sure if those songs would fit to a game like Wipeout. His last album? It's Druqs, right? I love it. Especially the nice pretty piano songs.
Yeah, I've heard about the remix thing. I almost couldn't believe it...Have I mentioned that Wipeout Pure will also feature new downloadable race tracks? Aizu_Itsuko said:Does WO Pure play more like the original WipeOut or like the sequels? I ask this because the first one is still my favorite in the series. It was all about driving your aircraft, looking for the best driving line from one boost pad to the next, positioning your ship's nose to increase your speed and taking the curves with perfect timing. Weapons just added some variables to the core gameplay.
