Witcher 3 gameplay from YouTubers from CDPR event

It's all compounded by the fact they have a gun to your head telling you to hit that preorder button yeah? The fact that reviews come a week ahead of release and not 2 weeks show's that they definitely have something to hide.

Do some of you even hear yourselves?

Way to miss my point. If you think it's cool and okay to claim you're a transparent developer then spend months keeping quiet about the console versions you continuously claim 'look great, then I don't know what else to tell you.

The point is simply that, you can't keep telling people to trust your product and then continuously fail to show it, when we know that even months back, press have played both console versions. CDPR are one of the best devs out there imo, but they're not exempt from criticism, and I think the way they're handling media on the console versions deserves to be questioned at least a little bit.

So yes, I do hear myself when I speak. And I stand by what I said.

I´m reading the witcher books at the moment in german.
I know there are some differences in the names between german and english, for example Roach/Plötze.
Because I can´t stand the german syncro, is there a way to find out all differences?

could they have something like that on the monsters for ps4 or anything, in bloodborne there is a cape/clothing item that flows and moves like that. Granted this game is a grander scale then bloodborne

Persons names are mostly the same or Faithfull translations (Dandelion - Rittersporn), but the names of places have some weird letters added or removed (Riva - Rivia).

Pretty sure on Bloodborne that stuff is canned animations, and not physics driven, though I could be wrong.

Oh boy, I wanted to read the german books since they're all translated already. Guess I won't now. I hate name changes.

Why would they need Sony to show off PS4 footage?

It's not like CDPR couldn't upload an in-house PS4 or XBO demo like the other 100 PC demos they've shown already. Something about this just doesn't add up for me.

Thank you, it's nice to see others are noticing the obvious. They've been advertising releasing a product on consoles for over 3 years without actually showing any direct gameplay footage. Major Red Flag.

Stop being paranoid. We'll get PS4 footage tomorrow and reviews (from the PS4 version) next week.

Look, I know it sucks not getting any console footage until now, but if CDPR were really hiding something, then why give out PS4 review copies?

We'll see tomorrow if it' s actual PS4 gameplay footage, or more PC footage with dualshock 4 button prompts (something Sony has done twice already)

Now as for the PS4 copies given for reviewers, that means nothing because they can't show/talk about it because they're under NDA until the embargo lifts. What you call "paranoid" I call skeptical.

But the embargo lifts a week before the game release, so again I ask, if CDPR were hiding something, then why let reviewers review the PS4 version and why would they lift the review embargoes a week before release?

It doesnt excuse the lack of console footage. Most other publishers showed console footage from their Multiplatform games months ahead.

I'm not excusing them, I'm just pointing out how the previous poster was being paranoid. There could be a number of reasons why they held off releasing console footage, but to say that the reason is because they are hiding something is just plain paranoia.

I'm going to get it on the PS4 BTW, so I'm not some PC elitist.

The hairworks on the monsters is looking so awesome.

That looks like a creature out of Final Fantasy.

If you want to stand around whining for footage by all means that's your prerogative. I don't think they are exempt from criticism, but criticize the right things. In less than one weeks time, before release you'll have the footage you crave. So your criticism just comes off as childish. They talked about and showed footage of the Xbone version at E3 last year and have given multiple interviews as to what to expect from each version(resolution,frame-rates, settings(med/high)) even since then. You just have to look for it.

As far as handling the media, would you prefer they just show the lowest settings at the lowest resolution so that everyone who has the exact bare minimums can see what it looks like? No, they have a duty to sell this game, if they want to show off the best looking version of it, they should.

You also have the right to wait to preorder if you don't like what you see. Constantly complaining about footage that will release this week, but maybe not on your timetable helps nothing.

Few multiplatform games show footage of all versions before release.

I understand completely why people want to see footage of the version they plan to buy, but some of the whining and sense of entitlement is a little over the top.

I mean, for the vast majority of games there's always someone left wondering how it will look on their preferred platform. Developers don't generally show high end PC, mid range PC, low end PC, PS4 and Xbox One footage of their games before release, so there's always going to be some people that just have to estimate how the games will likely look and run on their system.

We have seen console footage, though, and we will be seeing more before release. Reviews will also be coming out a week before release. Plenty of time to make an informed buying decision.

Really dump question here ?
What Version is to buy ? Steam or GoG or even Disc? What are the advantages of each other and do Steam Pic Mode work with the GOG version, if I import it ? Did not work well with Witcher 2. GoG Version is 7€ cheaper. What digital version is there to get ? Which one is more convenient?

You can get the GoG version via Green Man Gaming for hella cheap. I think people were reporting $38.99 earlier today, possibly less with some additional coupon.

If you aren't married to steam, go with GOG. CDPR will get 100% of the money, you get the game a little cheaper, you get it DRM free, and they give you a bunch of other small digital gifts.

Physical PC version comes with a GOG code.

Didn't CD Projekt Red do a nice job on the 360 version of Witcher 2? Guess the console versions could suck of Witcher 3 but I would be surprised if this were the case.

I'm going to buy it on Steam. I think we can activate our Steam key on GOG but I'm not certain about this. Could do so with Witcher 1 and 2. Plus I hate the way GoG breaks up larger downloads into smaller files. Hopefully Galaxy fixes this.

I'd recommend buying through GoG if you want to support the developer. Since GoG is owned by CD Projekt, you can be assured that almost all of the cost will be going to them. Furthermore, GoG throws in a lot of freebies with the purchase, and they just launched the beta of their new client, Galaxy.

I'm more concerned about the ridiculous amount of empty space around the edge of the UI. They'd better have a UI/safe zone adjustment.. that's almost Watch Dogs level of screen intrusion right there. I don't even know why devs do this any more.. safe zones haven't really been a thing since CRTs.

Oh damn, no kidding. Hopefully thats something that can be adjusted.
