Witcher 3 gameplay from YouTubers from CDPR event

I am not sure of the state of the books in english, but have you read them yet man? Seems right up your alley. I am reading the first one right now (in german though) and it is fantastic.

Not yet, but I've wiki'd the series to death. I really should go and read them, because you're right, they'd be right up my alley.

Only 4 of the 7 have been translated so far, and in the wrong order, unhelpfully. The second of the short story collections comes out just after W3, and the final two in the main series are set for 2016 and 2017.

2 reasons why anyone who reads should give it a try:

1- Books are amazing.

2- I guarantee the game will be a much better experience for the readers.

BTW, Gopher will be doing a Q&A session regarding his gameplay time with TW3 at CDPR in about less than 2 hours.

Geralt: Did you.. did you just fart??
Peasant: Umm..

Are there any video's of people playing inside Novigrad? I fear that that area will be by far the most hardware intensive, so I am curious how the performance will be there. (my cpu is an i7 870, which is a little below minimum specs. I don't think it will be a problem out in the wild or in small villages, but in a huge, sprawling city like Novigrad? I fear the worst there).

Google translate gives "Review of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - after 12 hours of playing" for title.

The detail of the character models continues to blow me away. Check out this old lady:

Quite a few spoilers in this one, but some really nice vistas + the dungeon, cave swimming. And a new sorceress. If it's Keira then they ruined her. :P

One thing bugs me regarding drowner.

According to the lore, human drown and become drowner. Where the hell they learn to swim then after they become one? I mean, their superior human form can't yet the lesser, monstrous form can.

Yeah yeah, I've lost my mind waiting for this game.

Arrr.

That is one ugly old lady.

Have some damn respects, young man.

LOL, I guess they have spent enough time in the water to learn.

They arent just regular people who got too close to the water. Rather than bury criminals, people tend to drown them or toss their already dead body into it.

"Drowners are scoundrels who ended their wicked lives in the water. Drowned alive or thrown into deep water after death, they turn into vengeful creatures which stalk the inhabitants of coastal settlements."

Honestly unless they get it so hairworks only dips frames by like 5-10, there's no way I would ever put that on, even on an insane rig. The only real noticeable difference for me with those videos that have it supposedly toggled on is the back of Geralt's hair and ponytail bouncing more realistically.

I understand that they put it on creatures with fur as well, but still. The hair already looks great without it imo.

I love how they implement "realistic" facial quirks in male NPCs and older female NPCs.

I hope to see young female NPCs who are more on the average/quirky/ugly side. They shouldn't all look like swans cuz they're young women.

The dude looks like someone you'd encounter in real life.He actually looks "average" and doesn't look like a model.

I wonder if nvidia drivers at release will improve the hairworks situation. Would like to play with it on, even if that means my 980 dips to 30fps.

Looking forward to this game. Will be my first Witcher game. Just a question, will you be able to soley rely on magic in combat to take down foes or will the sword always be the primary offensive weapon?
