Just bought a GTX 980 for this game(and Batman AK), even if i have a r9 290 already...can't wait for 19th

Same here. Just got mine today. Though I was running a HD6970 so it was time to upgrade anyway. Upgraded my CPU earlier this year to a i7-5820k with 16GB of DDR4.

I'm on the brink of upgrading to 980, but the 980ti seems like too good a deal to pass on. Guess I'll have to wait and maybe play the game with my 770

Wait, can you visit Vizima? That would be great, and will be more epic if has the same distribution and scale of the first game.

Nah, it's only the Royal Castle and probably limited to the times when you want/have to speak to the Emperor.

Are you guys seeing a notable difference in hair quality when hairworks is on? I don't see much difference maybe at that time the hair wasn't great due to the lack of shampoos right!? (I
'm kidding
)

IDK guys, don't think this game could use a 2x2 gaussian filter over everything and some film grain?

Those NPCs would look extra real then.

There is still hope, maybe day 1 patch upgrades TW3 to AAA standards. Currently there is lack of effects you mentioned also way too much color in colors.

No it's not. Unless they changed it since played which I highly doubt. I was there talking to the devs while I played. You can actually swim to the skellige islands if u like. That is if you survive and which it will take u forever. Why would u think it's seperate? How can I be mistaken when I played the game vs you who has not? After the prologue, the whole map is open including vizma which you can ride from white orchad and ride to novigrad. Btw vizma is huge.. Maybe half of novigrad.
Wait what? Vizima is in game? Really? Be still my beating heart! I can't wait to go there again after The Witcher 1.

I wouldn't take that as 100% legit as he is first person ever, afaik, to say that Vizima is in TW3. We know palace is in, but whole city?

Add some letter boxing and desaturate a bit and we are golden. TW3 would look really visceral then. Almost like CGI!

Btw friend did you see them saying the game runs great with hairworks on at resolutions higher than 1080p. That sounds amazing if true.

Seriously WTF. I'd even take poorly spoken, broken English over no English at all :(
English has germanic roots. Just listen carefully. :P
What about framerate? Do we want go full artistic vision here or are we ok with less?
If you can simulate a cool 23.97 FPS in a still capture, the more power to you.

I did read that.... and apparently on a 980 to boot. If true I am deifnitely looking to maximize my IQ as much as possible until it starts dropping below 60.

EDIT: Barnacles!

Not sure if I wanna pull the trigger on a Titan X or wait for whatever cards we get from nVidia next year. I have a 780ti so a 980 wouldn't mean much for me. Decisions, decision...

You guys think we can turn on hairworks only for Geralt and disable it for monsters, etc...?

Saying that cause while the gryphon head, the horse and Geralt seemed to use it, when he examines the dog we can see it's definitely last gen hair lol.

In the other games I remember having the option it was just a global one unfortunately.

Looks like i am going to buy a GTX980 at the end of this month and also a new cooler for my processor the stock one is getting annoying.

Am I the only one who isn't particularly impressed by hairworks? It just looks way too shiny, clean, and super sensitive to movement imo. I didn't like TressFX in Tomb Raider:DE either...so maybe it's just me. :P

Actually, tell a lie, I think it looks pretty damn good on some monsters, but that newest video showing it up-close on Geralt looks really odd to me.

Hairworks looks amazing but some of the minor npc don't have hairworks. :(

Man, can you just imagine entering some town or village with dozens, houndreds of NPCs there and all of them would use Hairworks - GTX 980 : 0 fps :D I imagine that those Hairworks have maybe 10 important characters in the whole game - Geralt, Yen, Triss, Ciri, and some more.. but yeah, 95% of all characters are going to have normal hair

I think normal hair is just fine, even on Geralt. But for monsters I need that sweet Hairworks so I was hoping for some sliders.

It's far from perfect, but at least the technology is there and they're working to improve it.
