Why would they need Sony to show off PS4 footage?
It's not like CDPR couldn't upload an in-house PS4 or XBO demo like the other 100 PC demos they've shown already. Something about this just doesn't add up for me.
It's a mass conspiracy to hide the fact that the game doesn't exist on PS4.
Or you know, marketing reasons or that gameple is accompanied by other footage they need to edit.

Maybe Sony wants to upload PS4 gameplay premiere on their own channels, possibly globally, and not have it uploaded to CDPR's channel? After all it's very big and important marketing tool for Sony.

I like how it's literally 2 weeks until the game releases and we have not seen console game play. Bodes well.
BioWare was showing PS4 and Xbox One footage for DA: Inquisition over a month before release. I think the game will be fine, but I still don't like how this is being handled at all.
And Rocksteady gave us the PS4 Batman footage more than 2 months before release, It is pretty fishy.

But with reviews out a week ahead of release, it's difficult for them to hide anything. I really hope it's some stupid marketing deal that's holding it up.

Yup. Even if they really have nothing to hide, for a developer that prides itself on being so transparent, they've handled this so fucking badly. Especially considering the fact that the press were able to try the PS4 and Xbox One versions months ago.
They know the current climate, and know that given the amount of times consumers have been burned this generation, simply taking their word for it based off of Twitter and forum posts isn't enough. We're paying for a product, we need to know what we're getting.
I'm really hyped for the game, but this just sours things a bit.

But here is the thing. They have a marketing deal with Microsoft and the Xbox One version is not being shown either.
Why not wait with paying for the product if you don't know what you're getting?

Yea I get that. Is it possible that the xbox one footage is holding up the PS4 footage? Idk it's strange and it would suck to have another anticipated game come out to controversy.

I doubt that. Microsoft also had a marketing deal with BioWare for DA: Inquisition and yet BioWare were streaming the PS4 version over a month before it came out. Of course they also streamed the Xbox One and PC versions as well.

Yeah, everything has been PC except the one video where they say "This is PS4 footage". Xbox version has never been seen or played by anyone afaik.

Sorry about that, lol. Honestly, I think the worst that can happen is that the game will have some framerate problems, some pop-in and the usual jank that accompanies many other open world games.
I don't think there is any conspiracy, I just don't like the way it has been handled.
Eh, they sent out the PS4 version for review and the embargo is up the week before release, so I doubt we're going to end up with a PS3 Skyrim type "surprise".

Eh, don't be so dismissive. If done right, a drinking animation can add to the depth of the combat system. Just look at Souls.
It wasn't that bad in TW1. But it's not really necessary.

It could be a tradeoff. In Witcher 2 you couldn't even drink in middle of a fight. Now, you can, but in exchange maybe you should use up 1 second animation (so retreat a bit before drinking one).

It makes sense in the Souls game because combat is slower and centered around locking you into animations. Here, the character is very mobile and can cancel out of everything so it wouldnt be as effective.
