I know Black Rock, I know some of the double digit IQ conspiracy theories linked to it. But i'm also epistemically stable enough to know what's worth my attention and what's not. And fear mongering about a company that is 'ruining my entertainment but also society' -like these people work in cabals and planning evil schemes- is not one of them haha. But i'm not your caretaker to give you a step by step how western companies operate in the real world. Capitalism doesn't care about setting agendas, it cares about profit and goes to where the customers are. Current trends dictate the goals and agendas of each company.

Game companies learned all the worst lessons from big tech, namely the obsession with data analysis. Which is why we have this race to the top in terms of budgets and a race to the bottom in creativity. Of course we know how to make a game - we've seen the data for what works and what doesn't - so let's just make it WAY BIGGER than the other guy doing the same fucking thing.

I get it that people want an easy scapegoat to point to for all their problems and struggled navigating modern society. I honestly feel for that, it can be rough sometimes.
